The Hare is is one of our favorites. 99% of the time it's Great Food & Great Service. Usually always busy but never too long of a wait. Happy hour has good prices and good drinks but not impressed with their food selection. I still give it 5 stars and highly recommend them. read more

I liked the way that the wait staff kept the flow going, so the wait time was minimal for the people coming in. The décor was dark and busy, but not so busy you couldn't enjoy it. It was a cowboy flavor. Customer service was excellent. Appetizer arrived on time and entrée's were out at the perfect time, just as we completed the appetizer. We were checked on several times to see how the food was and if there was anything else we needed or they could do. The food was high quality and had great flavor. Chili burger was angus beef patty, a thick, juicy half-pound patty cooked to perfect medium. It was flavorful but not gamey. Fresh cut fries were properly cooked, crispy, but not greasy. They were delicious, not too salty. The pulled pork bbq sandwich was flavorful and had some bite to it. The atmosphere was loud, however the elbow room between tables was spacious and comfortable. It was very casual and we were told they have live music on weekends. We are definitely going back!! read more

I don't even want to give this two stars, this place is so bad. Sadly, I took a chance on eating here after reading the reviews and now I'm really questioning the credibility of these reviewers!!! This place is really lame. The service is lame and the atmosphere is pretty gross in daylight. If you're a hard core beer drinker and french fry eater this must be your place. Definitely avoid this 'joint' if you're out for a nice lunch with the ladies! Duh! The special soup of the day, 'potato cheddar', came out looking and tasting like the nacho cheese sauce out of a #10 can! Horrible! With a bag salad mix on the side! Yuck! I ate the grilled bread that came with it as a filler and covered the whole plate with my napkin and the waitress didn't ask twice about it as she took it away. What a waste of money and time. If you go there for breakfast on the weekend, don't order eggs over easy or over medium. The cook has no idea how to do it! I've had to send my eggs back so many times because the whites always came back slimy. I finally stopped ordering them. I mean really! How hard can it be...Other food items usually come back pretty good. The bathroom is pretty awful...It always smells - is dark - and always feels dirty... I guess it sounds like I should give them 2 stars instead of 3.....maybe so.... I think it is sad - because they seem to do a good business there - I know they could do better... read more

This establishment made a huge communication error and had no remorse for doing so. The owner responded with falsehoods and a total lack of apology. Lots of defensiveness and even one of her employees got on the bandwagon. So very sad when a few people had a date confirmed 4 weeks in advance to then be told it was cancelled with a 48 hour notice. Who'd cancelled? There was no name/no contact number given. 25 customers showed up anyway to have a mini class reunion, then were accused of having "closed down the bar" when we left one hour and 40 minutes before the establishment closed. A few others on yelp have mentioned the waitresses having an attitude. I didn't find that, but the owner sure did when I told my sad story on fb. No apology, no taking of personal responsibility, and no thought to learn where she went wrong to prevent this with another group in the future. I am very sorry for contacting them in the first place and will do as I've always done...just drive on by:) read more

I really like a good breakfast out every now and then for a splurge. We've had lunch at The Wild Hare before (only when time is not an issue) and the burgers are decent. Today's breakfast was just the worst!!! Extremely slow service (40 minutes to get the basic eggs/bacon and eggs benedict). On a lazy Sunday, I can tolerate slow food from an understaffed kitchen (I guess), but servers standing around chit-chatting while there are empty coffee cups all over the floor? No excuse for that. One table had even turned their coffee cups on their sides to get some attention -- sorry mister, no coffe for you! When our order finally came, the food was poorly prepared - hash browns black on the bottom, bacon badly cooked as if in a jumble, very crispy and almost black in the middle of the strip, while the ends were rubbery and way undercooked. The hollandaise was just so-so, tasted like your basic dry packet mix, edible, but not what I was hoping for. Will not be back for this mess - try "top of the hill" next time. read more

I will never go back to this restaurant. Nor would I advise any friends or family to go here. The staff was rude..particularly the owner. Comment cards are meant for review once a customer leaves and can be addressed at a later time. What could you have done better? Please understand that people are people and beers spill. If it was a water would it have been as big of a deal? No I bet it wouldn't have been. We were shoved into a corner like children in a time out because a beer was spilled and then made out to look like a bunch of irresponsible 21 year olds. Unprofessionalism at its finest. A bit of clarification for the 8/5 comment. I am a frequent visitor to Wild Hare and I was there the night of this issue. The comments about the mini reunion are correct, however, the person who planned the reunion canceled and then came in and complained and created a scene because the restaurant obviously was not prepared. It was apparent to me that she was humiliated and embarrassed in front of her classmates and she was projecting that onto the personnel at the restaurant because she wasn't mature enough to admit her mistake. I have always had the best service at Wild Hare and I wanted to make sure that the public knew the whole story. read more

I go here quite often for lunch with a friend with severe mobility issues. The staff are always very accommodating and we have lunch and then play cribbage for an hour or so. The food is certainly not high dining but always prepared well and the service is excellent. Great lunch place. read more

Never again! Stopped in for lunch on a Monday. We were starving. It was my first time (and last time) there. We were seated right away. Normal lunch crowd was there. We ordered the special, chicken enchiladas. Went downhill from there. Waited about 30 minutes before I stopped a waitress to ask where our food was. None of the waitresses noticed that we were only ones without food. After stopping the waitress, our food was served in about two minutes. It was quite obvious that our order was overlooked. No apologies from anyone. The enchilada was horrible. THere was an identifiable sauce or spice on it, something I have never tasted before. I Had to remove the chicken from the wrap so i could eat it. Rice and beans were great. Don't waste your money! read more

I was looking forward to having lunch here with my mom, since the parking lot was packed on a Saturday afternoon. We had a little bit of a wait, then were seated. We decided to order the 4-piece fish and chips and share it. They put our salads on two plates for us and when the fish and chips came out, we were very disappointed. The fish was very similar to Gorton's frozen fish fillets you would buy in the super market. The kind where the breading comes off like a sheet of paper and the fish inside were very thin and not fresh tasting at all. I'm glad we didn't each order one, because at $18.00 I would have expected better quality than that. And the fries were so-so. The service was fine, but I give it two stars for the poor quality of food. Maybe other dishes were fine, but that wasn't our experience. read more

Gave this place another try because the owner wrote me a nasty e-mail, saying I was wrong. We had burgers and we asked for them well done all were very pink inside sent them back, service was bad and they were not busy. I am an.oregon.city local have been for twenty seven years. My family and myself gave The Wilde Hare in oregon city I try tonight...it was ok ...basically it was like Witchita but with Coopertown prices...my beer was luke warm my fries undercooked I started with a dinner salad that was made with room temp iceburg lettuce a little bit of shredded cheddar and 2 tomatoes no croutons....nothing fancy poor quality ingiedients ..they can get away with this in Canby but they better bring a little more to the table here in.oregon city because.there is a lot more competition than what they have in Canby. It's less than mediocre . Witchita ,Highcliff,the still house, sharis,Ranes in main st, Bugattis,Stone cliff, I could go on...im sorry to say butttt...The Wild.Hare is out of its legue here in Ore City..unfortunatly you will end up with the same customer base that Jins had because of the location....good luck with that read more
