One of my favorite things to do is find new matcha places, and this one is definitely a gem! It's located in the Carvel shopping center on Hiatus and easy to miss, but definitely more than worth a stop. I came in on a Sunday morning around 10am and it was super crowded, which was a good sign. Despite the crowd, the line moved fast and my order came out really quickly. They have more matcha flavors than anywhere else I've seen, so it was a hard choice. I ended up going with the marshmallow, and I'm super happy with my choice. The matcha and marshmallow flavors were both strong and complemented each other well. They have a pastry case that I completely missed because it's around the corner, or I might have tried something there too. Their prices are far more reasonable than many other local coffee shops nearby which was definitely a major plus. I enjoyed the lavender latte, but would probably only get it hot in the future, and would try a different iced latte flavor. Today, we ordered the Iced Caramel Macchiato, Iced Cinnamon Roll Latte, Spicy Beef Empanada, and their Key lime Pie. The coffees were good, but in my opinion, their pastries and snacks tasted better and left a bigger impression on me. The coffee flavors, I felt like I can find them elsewhere but the key lime pie was nice- just sweet enough and right level of tartness. The Wild Mug coffee bar has been open for over 2 years and I only recently started hearing about it. I was drawn to this place after seeing a few tiktoks about how good it is and realizing that it's pretty close to me. I stopped by this morning and parking was a breeze. The shopping center is under construction but it's right off of the highway and easy to find. When I arrived there were a few other customers but it was not very busy. The staff was very kind and attentive. They gave me some details about the flavors they offer for their drinks and what ingredients they use in their empanadas. They had a wide variety of empanadas to choose from and the two I chose were pretty good. The matcha was a bit too sweet so I had to ask them to remake it with less of the lavender syrup and it was perfect. Adding the additional shot of matcha was worth the $1 in my opinion. The place was very cute however the drinks were very disappointing. I ordered the I love you a lot latte and didn't really taste the raspberry flavor. I also maybe could've gotten an extra shot because it had more of a milk taste. I threw it out halfway. My friend got the strawberry matcha and there was no strawberry in it whatsoever. The coffee was great, but the empanada fell a bit short of its potential due it not being served fully warm and some of the vegetables in the filling not being completely cooked. Very glad I decided to make a quick pit stop on the way home from the movies to this place! It is very easy to find and there is ample amount of parking out front. Walking in I was greeted by some very friendly staff members and a insanely clean and well lit store! The case of empanadas looked very enticing and I was tempted to buy a few but with this trip I decided just to get a couple drinks. I got a vanilla caramel macchiato and let me say oh my gosh it was divine! The caramel drizzle on the side gave it a very sweet flavor without being overpowering. I will say I wish there was a little more vanilla flavoring in it but it was a very subtle flavor with the drink I was currently having and it Blended perfectly with the caramel. The espresso was brewed wonderfully and had a nice strength to it without being overpowering. I tried so hard not to inhale this drink and finish it in two big gulps because of how amazing it was!
