It is mango season in South FL and I love when local spots do the mango bartering and The Palm Cafe is one of them. They popped up on my Tik Tok and I have an abundance of mangos so I decided to bring some over and trade them for a latte. The trade is for 2 mangos (have to be bigger than the size of a closed fist, not overripe, not bruised) for a latte. I was sad that this didn't include a matcha latte but I decided to try out their coffee. I have a pretty bad intolerance for coffee so I was surprised that I was doing well after drinking this one. The barista recommended lavender and I always opt in for the recs and I'm so glad I did because it was DELICIOUS. My husband and I came by for a real cup of coffee after a lack luster cruise where the coffee was nothing more than flavored water. Upon arriving the venue was closed for a private event. We were able to order at the window and they let us in to use the restroom. They also let us sit on the pation out front. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The coffee, the most important part, was wonderful. I had a dirty chai which has a flavorful and robust profile. It was just what I needed. We stopped into The Palm Cafe at General Provision early on a Tuesday morning and were immediately greeted by the sweet smell of espresso and an effortlessly cool, industrial space. The barista, Ben, welcomed us, as did one of the managers, Cristina. In order to get a feel for The Palm Cafe's style, we decided to try and share a few of their signature drinks and a couple of their most popular bakery items. This was the best decision because we really got to explore the types of food and drinks available at The Palm Cafe and understand the hype. And let me tell you, the hype is well deserved. We started with their signature Golden Milk Latte, which comes with a double shot of their featured No. 9 espresso from Wells Coffee. Before I even get into it... you need this. Seriously. Order it right now!! Their Golden Milk Latte is unlike any other coffee drink I've ever had. It's not heavy, not too sweet, and you can taste the turmeric. You can taste the warm, sweet spices they add to this drink that make it so unique and delicious. This is the PERFECT drink for non-coffee lovers who want that caffeine boost without having to taste the coffee. We tried this latte hot, but you can get it hot or iced and I have a feeling it would be SO good iced. Next, we had drip coffee, also by Wells Coffee. This particular blend was from Peru and had cherry and blackberry. Overall, it was good. It was strong but not overpowering. The taste of the coffee was sharp at the front, but it mellowed at the back. It was a bit bitter, but not super acidic, which we really appreciated. It's definitely a good option for black coffee drinkers in the area! For our final drink, we tried the SoFlo Spro and Tonic, which is a double shot of Wells Coffee No. 9 espresso with orange infused simple syrup and FeverTree tonic served over ice. This drink was absolutely fascinating. You really can't taste the coffee; it has more of an elevated orange soda flavor. Though it isn't something that I'd order again, this is perfect for people who struggle to pick between afternoon soda or post-lunch coffee because it's both!! As far as food goes, we tried three items, all from Cafe Com Beijo. First, we tried their coffee, coffee cake, which was super cinnamon forward, crunchy from the oat topping, and had a coffee ribbon in the middle between the layers. We loved the texture of this coffee cake and appreciated that it was made with local Wells Coffee. Next, we tried their seedy maple muffin. This was our favorite! It's made with tons of fiber-rich seeds, juicy blueberries, and is sweetened with applesauce and maple syrup. Plus, it's vegan and gluten free. This muffin is heavy so it would be a great breakfast muffin because it's so filling! Finally, we tried their brown butter chocolate chip cookie. This cookie was HUGE! It was very soft and cakey. We had a hard time picking up on the brown butter, so it tasted more like a salted chocolate chip cookie. This is definitely an afternoon treat! The physical space at The Palm Cafe is really incredible and is open for members of General Provision. There are tons of spaces intentionally designed for productivity and networking. They have meeting rooms, work stations, and tons of electric plugs all around in order to help make doing your job as easy as possible. They also have music playing, but the music vibes are great and the volume is just right for getting work done since it's there but you can tune it out if you want to. The atmosphere is quiet since most people are working, which elevates it above most other coffee shops I frequent as far as concentration and productivity are concerned. I would totally recommend this to anyone who works from home and wants to tap into a productive, creative space. Next time you're looking for a cool, relaxed space to work in and you want to enjoy a great coffee or baked good, consider The Palm Cafe! Plus, they have a walk up window, which is perfect for people who aren't members but still want to experience their creative concoctions. I've walked past this place a thousand times and never knew it was there until a coworker recommended it when I mentioned I could really use a coffee. You order from a little window outside if you're not a member of the co-working space. The barista was super friendly. The Palm Cafe is a cute little coffee spot located within the General Provision Downtown coworking space. They serve Wells Coffee, and I loved the Honey Rose Latte which was nice to try for a change. They also have some light bites like coffee cake, muffins, and cookies which I also enjoyed. There is a window that you can order from on the outside and some picnic tables located out there, as the interiors are reserved for members of the coworking space. Ben helped me and he was very welcoming and made a delicious drink. The only bummer to this cafe, is that if you don't live in the area, you would have to pay to park somewhere, otherwise it's a really cool spot with great beverages and tasty local pastries.
