Let's be honest, there are weaknesses at this authentic home cooked spot practically inside Capitol Reef National Park. The baked goods are beautiful but fall far short of the best (or even third or fourth best) in execution. But the location is lovely and idyllic for small town America, the building and decor fit perfectly, and the scrambles and breakfast burritos are fresh and delicious. The staff are also very friendly, with tons of regulars visiting, although they too are a bit lax with masks in this time of unprecedented global pandemic. Wow!! I was so excited about this restaurant. We have been traveling through Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado. Unfortunately there were not a lot of vegetarian or vegan food. So when we came a across this place I was so happy! The service was great and the food was yummy! I ordered a roasted chickpeas veggie salad with a carrot miso dressing. The dressing was more of a paste but the flavor was great. My husband and kids had the veggie sandwich with cornmeal crusted tomatoes. Again, my husband and kids loved the sandwich. They were out of matcha so ordered a London fog with oat milk and it was delish! My parents ordered the pastrami sandwich and thought the apples were different but liked the sandwich. For dessert we ordered the white chocolate peach muffin and the strawberry basil scone. Both were fantastic. There is also a little store inside to buy souvenirs and art work! Don't miss this spot! The breakfast and lunch options are plentiful and all locally sourced meat and eggs. Such a gem in a small town. Every type of breakfast drink you can imagine- chai, oolong tea and matcha. What a treat! They also sell hiking lunches to go and hard boiled eggs for $1 which are also great to take hiking! Delicious breakfast...great place to hit up before hitting the trails. You order at the counter, and the food is dropped off at your table. You also bus your own table. I ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo. It comes with a side of sour cream, salsa, and some yummy rosemary potatoes. The burrito was delicious. It had a nice crunchy warmed tortilla and a good mix of eggs, chorizo, and veggies. I also got a hot chocolate, which hit the spot on this chilly winter day. So let me state the positives first: excellent service, great coffee, and wonderful baked good (in my case the strawberry rhubarb scone). Now the reason for the rating. For breakfast I ordered the waffle with berries, maple syrup and whipped cream which was an advertised special. It came out without both the maple syrup (they used high fructose corn syrup table syrup) and whipped cream (they ran out when asked after being served), the two special items that compelled me to order it in the first place. I believe if you are going to tout certain items you should deliver it or inform the customer of substitutions so they can make an informed decision on whether to continue to order it. The obvious other option is to erase the items from the specials chalk board. I informed management. I would come back and do recommend you do too,, but i will be more aware of their practices and perhaps confirm certain items are as advertised. read more

After a terrible dinner at a different local restaurant last night, I was starving this morning and so excited to try this place now that it was open! From the moment I walked in, I could tell it was going to be good. The bakery case was filled with the most delectable looking sweets, and I was greeted by very warm and welcoming staff members. I asked for a recommendation and landed on a half order of the biscuits and gravy with a cold brew coffee. I sat outside because I had my fur baby with me. The staff nicely brought out my coffee, which is roasted two doors down, and then my breakfast. The coffee was absolutely delicious. I added a tiny splash of cream and it didn't even really need that. It had such a great flavor, super smooth and not even a hint of bitterness. And then the biscuits and gravy:.. which is this was the half order, The full order could feed multiple people. A whole biscuit covered in gravy with a scrambled egg, perfectly roasted potatoes; and an orange slice. The biscuit was fluffy and buttery and not at all dry, the gravy had the perfect balance of flavor and nice chunks of delicious sausage. I am so picky about breakfast potatoes, but these were great, crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside and seasoned perfectly. The egg was a perfect compliment to the meal. Even the orange slice was fresh and tasty. If I could give this meal 10/5 I would. I wish this place was by my house. We actually came back for lunch the same day before they closed at 2. I had a BLT (spinach, cornmeal crusted tomato, bacon) that came with a cucumber dill salad and another cold brew with a Mexican mocha cookie. And once again everything was spot on. The sandwich was different from a typical BLT but familiar too. It was delicious. The cucumber salad was light and refreshing. The cookie was crisp on the outside and soft and chewy almost brownie like in the center with a balance of sweet and spicy that made me wish a bought more. If you're in Torrey on a day this place is open make sure you eat here! It's well worth it! read more

Great spot for breakfast. Scramble had lots of veggies and the coffee is good (I had drip and while not the best I have had, still quite good and smooth. The jam with the meal was excellent. We stopped at Wild Rabbit Cafe on our way to Capitol Reef for lunch, and it was a really good choice. The atmosphere is amazing and really nice, greeted when we walked in, and the staff was super helpful and nice. My wife got the caprese sandwich, and she loved it, she almost finished it (which is amazing for how little she eats). She also got the 'pot of gold' latte, which was delicious with tumeric and chai, a really good combo. I got the valley veggie sandwich, it was so good I could probably eat a second one, the hummus really added something and it was so good. This is such a cute and cozy cafe. We came here for breakfast right at opening after waking up to a fresh snow - it was so nice to sit by all the windows with the snow falling. The food we tried was delicious (French Toast and Breakfast Burrito) and the espresso drinks were good for what we've experienced in rural Utah.
