While we certainly give credit to the lovely couple and their families, Brigalia's certainly played a large role in making it an unforgettable affair. The facility is more of a complex, with separate buildings where ceremonies are held that are connected by cobbled walkways, as if they were illustrations in children's storybooks. We're talking beautifully manicured landscapes and structures that fit neatly into the complex, so lots of opportunities for some great photo ops! The reception was held in a large ballroom with an amazing lighting package that would rival Taylor Swift's wedding at MSG. The room itself is a large open space with a grand staircase, very tastefully and formally decorated. Now darlings, be prepared to chow down. The fare is abundant, decadent, and delicious. Come here with the expectation that any diet you might be following will be thoroughly negated, and hours and hours of Stairmaster fun will follow in the days ahead, but it will be worth it. Drinks...:::hiccup:::...enough said here. Your Host kept *some* semblance of control and didn't get tanked (IIRC). STAFF: The staff here were top-notch: friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Celebrated my cousin's surprise 40th birthday party at Suite105. The event space was very nicely decorated. The setup was in half a circle, and I was able to see most of the guests where I was seated, which was nice. The bathroom was even cute and clean. I'm not exactly sure of all the arrangements that were made, but I believe Suite105 staff were helping with fixing plates (food was provided by the family), pouring liquor (the family brought in liquor) and other tasks, and they were kindly behind the scenes to help the occasion go smoothly. So my daughter got married at Running Deer last December. But we arrived with our minds open and our expectations high. Upon entering the venue, I was immediately concerned at the stark furnishings and frankly cheap looking chairs and tables that covered the floor. The wedding, of course, went off without a hitch. The reception began with an open bar and some hors d'oeuvres. There was a raw bar. The clams oysters and shrimp were frankly lukewarm, and certainly not fresh. My wife became ill upon eating one of the oysters. Needless to say I was quite disappointed, but then it got worse. My wife is a vegetarian and as such I ordered a special vegetarian meal for her which they did not have, and knew nothing about. I was very specific about this and when we questioned the event manager, she was frankly quite rude. I forgot to add that before this happened, during the seating just before the wedding, my ex-wife, who is as hostile as can be, made a bit of a scene about sitting next to us. My wife and I, who live in Southern California are quite happy and laid back and could not have cared less where anybody sat. So after my ex-wife threw her little hissy fit out of our presence, the manager charged up to us as if to chastise a couple of school children. She snarled: "Now I don't want any trouble from anybody. Here's how it's going to go". Dumbfounded, my wife and I looked at each other and pretty much just laughed. We found her cartoonish approach to be hideous and her bad manners, not one bit amusing. For what we paid for this wedding the least she could've done was maintain some level of decorum and respect. It was if we were the troublesome junior high school couple and just got caught roaming the halls during study hall. But we laughed it off. However, things got really annoying and frankly made me very angry once dinner began. The plates were rushed to the table as if by an Indianapolis 500 Pit Crew. I mean there's a way to serve a plate. Reaching in, placing it down carefully with a smile, asking to be sure if this was what was ordered and wishing you a pleasant dining experience is always standard at a wedding; but no, the plates were flung on the table and I'm surprised that the food didn't land on the floor. We were rushed through dinner, and the server tried to remove my wife's plate no less than three (3!) times before she'd finished her meal. I had the fillet mignon, which was served less than hot, and overcooked. It resembled a hockey puck. It too, fell victim to the over ambitious servers who stopped by twice and tried to remove my plate before I finished. The desserts were of poor quality and not varied at all. Lastly, after a wedding, it usually serves a venue well to follow-up with the parents of the bride to not only express thanks for their business, but to inquire as to whether their expectations were met or not. Perhaps a comped dinner visit as a "thank you" (My wife and I received all of the above after our own wedding at Scotland Run, five years ago). We've received no follow-up, no "thank-you", or any post-event contact of any sort. Completely tacky. I would advise any couple in search of a wedding reception venue to simply save their time and bypass a visit to Running Deer. Poor quality food, rude staff and dreary atmosphere do not make for an enjoyable time. The quality of the event left us feeling ripped-off.

It made the experience uncomfortable, especially for the expecting mother. The servers were ok, but not present. They were not refilling waters, and there were not pitchers of water provided, so that plus the hot room were not a pleasant combination. The restrooms were also not tended to and quickly ran out of supplies.

But I don't need to go to a buffet to get a waffle. Most things in the chafing dishes (mussels, fish, potatoes, etc) were either dried out or too salty and just tasted terrible. The turkey sausage was so dry and weirdly textured I am not sure it was even meat, let alone turkey. The bagels and other pastries and breads were stale and poor quality. The desserts were especially bad. The big sliced cakes and all the little tiny cakes looked pretty but taste awful - fake whipped cream and too sweet cheap tasting frosting made them nearly inedible. I saw chocolate covered strawberries when I walked in but when I went for dessert they were gone with no replacements forthcoming. The tip was included for our party of 9 but she didn't deserve it - there were several times we needed something and there was no one in sight for long periods. We won't be returning.

We are very lucky that they we have the opportunity to go back to our venue each year since a lot of venues are only limited to special occasions like weddings and showers offered in their banquet halls. The Sunday brunch is your quintessential Sunday brunch. They have a made-to-order omelet station, fresh waffle press, carving station, along with over a dozen options served in chafers. The options range from scrambled eggs to chicken Marsala. They also offer a range of bagels, pastries and salad dishes. There is a great variety of options without being overwhelming. The apple stuffed pancakes and the carved turkey were by far my favorite dishes during my most recent visit. On our reservation we noted that we were celebrating our anniversary and we were welcomed back with open arms. Our table was covered in rose pedals and we were provided a complimentary glass of champagne to enjoy with our brunch. JoAnn, one our wedding coordinators, was on site during our recent and came over to say hello to us and catch up. Even years after our wedding, the customer service at Scotland Run is top notch. Everyone we encountered a few years back was a pleasure to work with especially JoAnn and Kelly. Let me premise by saying that not every venue is right for every couple, but Scotland Run was 110% perfect for us. From start to finish, we were in fabulous hands and had the event of our dreams. No bride ever thinks there will be rain on her wedding day, and that was certainly something I hadn't planned for. No biggie, Scotland Run had a contingency plan and had everything taken care of. Years later our guests still rave about our wedding but by far they rave about the mashed potato bar and the dessert table. It goes without saying that the grounds are gorgeous and that's one of the things we fell in love with initially. The view from the ballroom was the greenery of the golf course and open skies. The pavilion was decorated with many, many different types of flowers adding luscious color. The venue was so pretty, we kept any extra decorations to the minimum. While our wedding day is now a day in the past, it is so nice to know that we can always come back for some special time to reminisce.
