Had the pleasure of stopping here for dinner prior to my departure to Pittsburgh Airport. Went to dinner with my daughter and grandkids. We ordered the bread and cheese for appetizer. It was very tasty, lots of cheese, not enough bread, but they brought more! Between us we had a pizza, hamburger, black angus steak and fettuccine Alfredo. The two dinner came with salads that were very fresh, seemingly locally garden grown greens, tomatoes, peppers, etc. All of the dinners were cooked to perfection and we took quite a bit home. Lovely inside, just like a cozy wine cellar. Waitstaff were friendly and efficient. It was a truly great experience in Morgantown. Next time, I'll make sure to get at least one glass of wine! read more

Probably closer to 4.5 stars over 4. Overall a well rounded menu. Had the gulf shrimp dip which was very good. Margarita flatbread and wedge salad were decent, not amazing. Fantastic. The food, the vibe, and the service. Traveling for work and sat at the bar, and Jessica was wonderful. She made some really great suggestions and was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. The dishes I ordered were timed perfectly. The long-stemmed artichokes were out of this world! I'm a huge fan of artichokes and the way they did they and their presentation was impressive. The garlic aioli was also a great touch. The wedge was classic with their twist showcasing a grilled romaine head....just the way I prefer my Caesar. Great cocktail and wine selection but that should to unsaid given it's a wine bar. Loved it and will definitely return when I'm back in the area, thank you!! read more

Came here on a week night and it was fairly busy. Parking was full, so we had to park across from the restaurant. It looked like they had a small party room where you can rent out. So if you have a birthday/anniversary you want to plan, this place looks like they can accommodate that occasion. We started with charcuterie board. Where they give you a pencil and menu to mark what you want on your board. Then I've got some steak salad, which was huge for dinner size. I needed a bigger plate for what they have given me. The server was kind but bit slow with our food. We had to ask him 3 times for more bread. Maybe he's new. Unsure. We've also had espresso martini and spicy margaritas and they were on point. This is a hidden gem that you must absolutely try! The food is amazing! The staff is friendly and so attentive. It's a small quaint little restaurant with so many options. Reservations are suggested since it's not a large place, but they will acomodate if possible. I had the Brussels Sprouts (my absolute favorite) the meatballs and the bruschetta! I cannot rave enough! I loved this place years ago. Tonight was a real disappointment. Second time I've been here in a couple months and no servers told us the specials. Both times, I saw them as I left n the chalk board. Not up to me to ask about them. Couldn't see it from our table. I would have wanted one of the specials I saw!! Service needs help. Also, as a WINE bar, we expected to be given a full WINE menu. We wanted a bottle but only had the menu with options to order by the glass. Had to request another menu. Mussels and octopus were amazing. Steak was ok - needs a sauce. Quite dry. I RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. I recently enjoyed eating two evenings at The Wine Bar at Vintner Valley in Morgantown, WV. The times happened to be on a Thursday and a Friday night. (I booked ahead because RESERVATIONS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.) The ambience is warm (full, but not loud), the service was very knowledgeable and accommodating for dietary restrictions, and the food provides new experiences. The menu has some of the most unusual and tasty items one will find in the area. The chef has clearly trained and worked in different regions and brings these tastes to Morgantown. In addition, the menu has many options for customers with gluten-free and vegetarian needs. I'm sure the menu changes seasonally, but all the foods tasted great, including Long Stem Artichoke Roses with aioli sauce, Green Goddess Fries, and salmon cakes. My friends and I shared a beautifully put-together charcuterie board, including items for guests with GF restrictions. The chef has created a "pickle" category that tickles the curiosity and taste, including pears, peaches, radishes, and ramps (try this Appalachian delicacy with a pickled twist). I found the pickled ramp with a smidge of goat cheese from the charcuterie board a delight, with no cracker needed. (Note - crackers on the charcuterie can be GF). For entrees, the table had a mixture of items with nothing but euphonic sounds of "mms," which is a good sign. I had the tortellini, which was GF, and enjoyed every bite, and had plenty to share with others. In the dessert category, the dark chocolate mousse had the perfect texture and taste, and the cheesecake with the caramelized top was delicious. When visiting family in Morgantown it was suggested we have food from The Wine Bar. The food was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed the meatballs and the sauce was incredible. Our salad was large and had wonderful mozzarella cheese balls. We ordered our chicken charred and they nailed it! The flatbread pizza was also wonderful!! The restaurant is so quaint and inviting. There is a way to communicate professionally and one particular employee has ruined it. My experience here was WONDERFUL. I came into town to visit my son and daughter who are both attending school at WVU. This was the perfect little spot. We came in for dinner, and I was thrilled with the amount of gluten free options they had on the menu! We started off with some cocktails (loved the pomegranate aperol spritz). The bruschetta was amazing. My husband and I recently went to Italy, and the bruschetta here was better than the one I had in Italy. For entrees, we tried the Penne ale Vodka, the Hungarian wax pepper pizza, and the 1/2 duck from the feature's list. Everything was to die for! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here. This was a lovely place in the midst of a college town filled with local "joints". Atmosphere was warm with a nice mix of casual elegance. Bar looked like a fun place to sit but we enjoyed a booth. The waitress was wonderful served us with a professional and friendly flair. She helped, as best as she could (it IS afterall, a "wine bar", "I sell a lot of those ), to a beer that she loved. I was a tiny bit disappointed with my Tito's and tonic which did not have the wonderful tonic taste I love. But, my daughter found a favorite new beer that the waitress suggested. The bruschetta appetizer was fabulous. Our waitress suggested melted mozzarella on top and while not traditional, was delightful. We were so happy to get a table on a Saturday night at this great wine bar. The restaurant has a fabulous decor, classy and well appointed. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and a server came to the table immediately to take our wine/drink order. The server who took our food order was also very friendly. So, the service was fabulous. Now let's talk about the food. For appetizers we had the hearts of palm fries (delicious) and the Burrata & Prosciutto Salad. The salad was just mediocre, the burrata cheese did not "lava", it was a bit dry and the dressing was almost tasteless so we had to ask for balsamic glaze to help. For our entrees, I ordered the Flatbread (which was good but not as crispy as I would've liked) and hubby had the Sirloin Skewers. Unfortunately the meat on the skewers was gristly. My hubby pretty much eats everything and rarely complains, but he could hardly eat half his dinner, having to cut around the gristle (the potatoes were great though and he liked the side Ceasar salad). That said, when I did complain, the manager (reluctantly) offered to deduct half the cost of the skewers from the bill. Although she was a bit skeptical, it was nice of her to offer so despite the quality of the food, because of the service I'm still giving them 4 stars. Highly recommend you NOT order the skewers!
