    Charcuterie board
    Nathalie C.

What a place! Wonderful experience. Juan was so welcoming, we had a great time talking and joking with him. We had the charcuterie board which was fantastic, the seafood paella was tasteful, full of seafoods ( I want to remind people they are a few different seafood paella recipes out there) and the dessert Spanish flan did not disappoint at all! Highly recommend this gem. I love that you can find a place like this in the area with a European flavor. We will definitely come back. And yes you must make reservations which was easy to make. It was nice that the place was not crowded, but cozy, comfortable. The food came every time at a perfect time which it does not happen in a lot of restaurants. Again fabulous place!

    Beef Lasagna, just excellent!

Absolutely an excellent experience! Food was excellent, ambiance was perfect and the owner and his son who were greeting and serving patrons due to being short staffed couldn't have been nicer. Rounding out the family affair of Rhouse is the mother who is the cook. Can't wait to go back.

Paella and country style short ribs. Thier mushrooms al ajillo was divine (though not pictured).

So I cannot begin to tell you how welcomed a surprise this place is. We got the recommendation from a local winery and it certainly lived up. The food is fresh and comes out hot. The atmosphere is very welcoming and feels like a home. This is further accentuated by the staff. It is family run and you can tell. They are super friendly and personable. The food is just amazing and they have a great selection of wines. Their beer selection is pretty good. I'm an IPA guy and I had 2 or 3 options. My wife had some great Spanish wine. Price wise I'd consider it very reasonable for the quality, coming from DC, the price was fine but compared to the rest of bayse it might be on the higher end ... the quality however is well beyond and absolutely worth it.

Just came back from the restaurant where my husband and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. What a FANTASTIC experience. The food was superb, but the personal service we have received from the owners was what made this dining experience even better. Someone told us that there is one negative review was left because people were turned away. The restaurant has a policy of RESERVATION only to make the dining experience better. So ignore that review, make a reservation and treat yourself to a memorable meal in one of the nicest restaurants in the area.

RHouse is a contender with the Michelin star restaurants I have visited. The establishment is beautifully designed. The owners (Juan and his lovely wife) make dinning an experience from start to finish. The menu and wine selection were second to none. The spinach artichoke dip and charcuterie were amazing. We also had the chicken verde, the winter salad, the baby back ribs, and the chicken lasagna and could not decide which dish was our favorite. We were celebrating my 39th birthday during our visit and the owner's wife (who is also the amazingly talented chef) agreed to make a delicious cake for us to celebrate. I cannot say enough wonderful things about RHouse, the atmosphere, cuisine, owners and staff. They made my birthday a wonderful experience I will never forget!

This place is worth the drive to little Basye. Eating on the porch is delightful. The owners are so friendly. The food is delicious.

We decided on the Green Room because we had not been there in a long time. We were very happy with the menu selections of appetizers, sandwiches and salads. They have an impressive wine and beer selection, sodas and water too. Their outside setup is very nice with tents for shade, comfortable plastic chairs with cup holders and fake grass a little ambience. The service was a little slow at first but then were very attentive and helpful. The inside is immaculate and the bathroom was very clean (always a plus and positive sign). We got the chips and onion dip to start which were yummy! Then we got a Turkey sandwich and a club sandwich. Both were delicious and stuffed full, we could only eat half. We got a coke and a Veil Brewing Co. IPA to drink. The Veil is one of the best brewing companies on the East Coast and not easy to find outside of Richmond, VA. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch experience here!! Great job!!

There are so many options in this lovely town but I made a reservation at Zynodoa because I have been on a farm-to-table kick lately. The servers and hosts were all lovely, interacting with both the guests and each other professionally and amicably. My server Sarah gave me as much attention as anyone else, even though I was the only person dining alone. I ordered the tomato and burrata appetizer. I am not a big raw tomato eater but I knew if these were truly farm-to-table, they would taste good, and they did. The flavor felt like a combination of sunshine and a warm hug! The cheese tasted like a sweet kiss. The portion was substantial, and there was balsamic reduction and a generous amount of coarse pesto. I ate the whole thing! For the main course I ordered the flat iron steak. Because I was traveling and didn't want leftovers, I asked the server for a smaller portion than listed, but either I wasn't clear or it wasn't an option--It's okay, though. I ordered the steak medium rare but it was a shade above rare; again, okay. Sides were good but I added salt. The meal was a bit pricey but probably fair given that it was sourced locally. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the chef is heavy handed on the sauces, which may not be everyone's cup of tea. Oh, I ordered the pinot noir and it was good, smooth, balanced. Overall impression of Zynodoa was it felt like visiting the home of a friend with a garden who loves to cook and share with her friends. The portions were generous and the seasoning was substantial. I highly recommend to anyone visiting Staunton.

The cocktail and mocktails were flavorful and well priced. Our waiter was great. Very knowledgeable about the menu, town and ingredients. We started with the Chicken Liver pate. This was well prepared, although I hate when a restaurant provides an odd number of toasts for two people. We asked for an extra piece and thought it was funny that they gave us exactly one. FYI- it comes with several accoutrements which were tasty, but the mustard was really the most satisfying. My wife had the brisket, which I would call a must have. Fantastic Asian spices, fried rice ball and Kimchi. Just an explosion of flavors. I was glad she shared. (This is uncommon) I had the pork chop and it was really pretty. Unfortunately, it lacked flavor and I had to carve off the fat which made up about 1/3rd of the chop. The bone was the other third...so it turned out to be a thick but modest cut. That said, it was on a lovely bed of mash and some of the best blue and white carrots I ever had. We finished with the carrot cake. (All of the desserts are made onsite.) which we learned was gluten free. Honestly if it was marked GF I wouldn't have ordered it. Anyway, when it arrived I thought we received the wrong thing. It looked like a decorative cliff bar. Once we took a bite we were blown away by the flavors and texture. It was delicious. Such a great experience. We were near the kitchen, so we got to see the head chef get orders out. There were some highs and lows, but the overall experience was really nice.
