You'll find Dom Perignon and wines under $35 coexisting in the same space. You'll also find beers, THC drinks, sake, and a lot more. You'll also find so much beyond wine - sardines, chocolate, and gift baskets. It's an ideal location to shop for gifts and build a basket. I don't have any particular recommendations. I usually ask staff for recommendations and gravitate toward white wines. Except during CLE Beer week I tried two different beers here - Executive Decision by the Butcher and the Brewer, Yakima Chief Forward from Fat Heads Brewery. AMBIANCE: [[HIGHLIGHT]]Market vibes with tables and bar available for guests. The ambiance is nice, casual, quiet enough for a date. What I love about here is that they can chill wine bottles upon purchase. You can immediately go home with a chilled bottle of wine and get into your evening. What a surprise, right here in Cleveland Heights, the place I grew up. I've been parking in the back lot for years and never ventured inside. Now, I know what I was missing and will be back for more visits. My daughter and I enjoyed a charcuterie board and each had a glass of wine: Vermentino for me, orange wine for my daughter. I've been here numerous times. Numerous times to drink their overpriced wine and products and experience their rude servers. Today was no different. And coming up to the parking lot I saw that every single handicap spot was full so I pulled into the wine spot parking spot. As soon as I got out the door the guy comes running out telling me to move my car he says there's a handicap parking down there. I said no they're all full. I said I'll be five minutes and I'm leaving. I got back ordering my food to sit at the table outside. He comes over to a place of business, he has no right to be at and harasses me. Harasses me to the point where my wife got upset and we had to leave. It's not like he didn't see the handicap sticker. I've had cancer and two shoulder replacements and pending knee replacement. I was in no mood to be treated so rudely by a person who should know better. He looked right at it and went at me anyway. This is a prime example of man's inhumanity to man. Could you cut me a little slack knowing all the other ones were full yes you could've did he, no. So I ask you people is this the kind of man you wanna do business with. I don't. Nor will I ever. Nor should you. There that's my review. Intemperate responses to future and past customers is not a good policy when you run across them outside your place of business. The wine spot is the spot to be. As the name entails, they have a huge retail wine selection and serve glasses in store as well. The set up is super cute with seating in the front and back surrounding the wine store in the middle, and feels super casual and cozy. More recently, they started serving snacks as well, check out their daily deals, Saturday nights area great with their 2 glasses and cheese board for $20! This is a great place for a pre-dinner drink or to pick up a bottle for home. The staff are super helpful for picking out something specific or helping with pairings. If you're drinking in, they also just added a bunch of beers on tap and a few cocktails which are worth a try too! However, don't come too hungry, their menu is limited to just bar snacks and tinned sides. One of my favorite things to do is come here right before dinner down the road to get the night started. They're also fine with customers bringing their own food/takeout, which a great option too. read more

Came here after work for a few drinks with a co-worker. I love this place! Three main reasons I love this place: 1. Quality cocktails and rotating selection of beer and wine. I got an old fashioned and it was made perfectly! Garnished with a dried candied orange slice and a luxradro cherry. The single large ice cube was clear all the way through! My buddy I was with laughed at how excited I was about the clear ice cube . 2. Great service. It was relatively busy and we didn't have to wait more than 1 minute after a glass was empty or almost empty for the staff to ask if we needed anything else. The staff is also good with the timing of interrupting your conversation. They will observe (in a non creepy way) and swoop in at an opportune time. Oh and they are all very friendly, laid back and knowledgeable. 3. Design. I just enjoy the design of the place. The main dining area has a variety of seating options, different wines and beers line the walls. There is also a smaller back room with interesting art for sale, s great sound system and bomb lighting. I might see if I can host something there! read more

This place is A-Ok. I've only been in once for a drink while on a date so I don't have much of an opinion yet. There is parking the back where you get your first thirty minutes free at the meter (remember to push the button first before putting in coins!) and then each quarter gives you an additional thirty minutes. Inside is pretty open with a small bar and some tables to sit at. Staff seems pleasant. I would come here for happy hour where glasses of select wines are only $5, the red was enjoyable. I would not get a cocktail, the one I tried, Bramble Fizz $9, was not good. They do have some cheese/meat boards that sound tasty and I'd check them out if I come again (I live like 40 minutes away so not in the area often). My family went to support an artist friend who was having a reception of his work. The beverages are over priced there. Although we were quoted a different price for the glass of wine that we ordered, it was tasty. The part that really got me was the over the top price for the bottle of soda pop that my daughter ordered, and then they had the nerve to charge us a corking fee to open that up for her! The Wine Spot is a wonderful, wonderful place especially if you are a beer or wine lover. 5 for the beer and wine options 4 for the environment/decor It's a no frills, beer and wine haven located in a former hardware shop. It's a place to sit and enjoy samples/tastings, trying what's tap or just buying by the bottle. One of the best parts is that they carry Japanese whiskey - something I haven't seen in other parts of town! I feel so lucky that this place is so close to where we live. It's definitely a go to place when we want to pick up some beer or wine. Because they let you bring food in, we usually get takeout from somewhere on Lee Rd and enjoy it with a beverage. Other note of interest... They take Bitcoin! They can't anymore for alcohol by law, but it's an interesting tidbit. read more

I like this place, I feel like a cultured individual, like someone who acts my age, like an aristocrat,because they have wine. But wait there is more, the have a great selection beer on tap and bottles, that makes me feel like the every day joe, a man of the people. I've been here a handful of times now. To meet old friends, to enjoy alone time with a good book and a glass of wine, and for the tastings. I believe the biggest reason why I can't give five stars is because I wish "the spot" was set up so that the flow of buying didn't conflict with the flow of enjoying your purchase. I say that to say this: I wonder if I'm the only one who feels like I'm in the way here? Seating is first come, first take, and it is limited. So, many people find themselves standing around and gawking at all of the pretty beers, and wines that they can purchase instead of sitting - it just leaves me feeling like we're all in limbo instead of getting to fully enjoy ourselves in such a great little "spot". I love their selection. Beers I can't find anywhere else, I know I can get here. Same thing with wine. They even have coffee on draft. (It's thin and not nearly as heavy as a stout, which was what I expected. It's actually very floral and clean. Not bitter.) I recommend going on a Saturday afternoon. Business is slow and you'll find a great seat anywhere. Bring your book, your bestie, or meet up with an old friend. The environment is very chill and cozy. I'm really disappointed. I've been and paid for several wine tastings and purchased significant amounts of wine during those tastings. Today, I was very unhappy after calling about two bottles from the same vineyard that I purchased at a tasting. The bottles were 30 and 40 dollars that were stored in proper conditions. The wines were not drinkable. I was told this can happen with wines. It is unfortunate that they were unable to offer any solution. Sadly, we won't be back. read more

My normal spot was closed so I decided to give the wine spot a go. Super clean and welcoming atmosphere, lightly played music and the staff was terrific. The young lady was able to help me pick out 2 whites and 1 red. A little birdie told me what type of wine they liked. It was reasonably priced amd there was plenty of parking. A true one-stop shop for all of your wine and beer needs. We recently popped into this artistically driven space to pick up some holiday cheer and were delighted to see a huge selection of wine and beers. The space serves as a local art hot spot for the CIA and also features cool handcrafted wine accessories from local craftsman. We sampled a few different bottles of sparkling whites and landed on a Cava and a Prosecco. Both perfect for holiday toasts and unique enouigh to catch the attention of our guests. if you are looking for a bottle for any occasion, this place will have it. The Wine Spot may be one of my favorite things about moving to the East Side. The space is so modern and nicely organized and the staff has always been very helpful. I love the wine tastings that they host a few times a week - the current ones are a "Best Of" series for each wine varietal. We missed the merlot last week, but the zinfandel was fun and featured wines in lots of price points. For $10, it is rare to get to taste wine of this quality at restaurants or in wine flights - so I think the price is definitely worth it. The port wine tasting was really, really amazing. Aside from having lots of fun regions of wine (lots of Chilean, Spanish, etc) that you may not find at other places, I love that they carry hard-to-find vermouth, amaro and apertifs for cocktails. I picked up some Salers Apertif and Byrrh that I have been looking for everywhere in one stop - so cool! read more

Situated in the old Seitz-Agin Hardware Store, this wine and beer shop is a nice addition to the Cedar-Lee neighborhood. Besides Zagara's, which is a bit further afield from the main drag on Lee, this area has been seriously lacking in a good wine shop, and I hope to see the Wine Spot fill the void. The space seems dauntingly huge on first glance, but if you keep in mind that they feature tastings on a fairly regular basis it seems just right. The owners have done impressive renovations to the space, and the new look is clean and modern -- lots of shiny chrome and reworked A Piece of Cleveland surfaces, as well as displays made by local artists -- yet surprisingly comfortable and homey all the same. I like it here. The beer selection, in coolers, is pretty average. Your choices range among various craft brews, Yuengling, and seasonals. Nothing that really knocked my socks off, but still a good selection for the size of the store. Beer snobs will not be disappointed! The wine inventory is the main focus here --hence the shop's name -- and doesn't disappoint. It's not a huge, overwhelming selection, but rather a very well-curated selection of wines in a variety of price points and, well, varietals. $12 bottles comingled with $50 bottles, arranged by region and grape. I found a lot of labels I wasn't familiar with yet as well as a few surprises that I love and haven't been able to find anyplace else (Selby Cabernet, for example). Haven't tried the tastings yet, but they seem to be turning up pn the shop's calendar with some frequency now that things are really in full swing. Amazing spot! They're extremely knowledgeable which is rare to find in Ohio wine shops. They have a huge selection of natural wines and I drive all the way from Akron just to purchase wine. Amazing customer service, always willing to talk your ears off about wine (in a good way). Some reviews are saying that the prices are too expensive but what do you expect? This isn't Targets wine selection...it's a high quality wine shop. You can find really nice bottles for below $25 and if that's too expensive for you...Target may be the best option for your wine purchases...but enjoy drinking Josh brand lol read more

Went for the 1st time tonight to enjoy a glass of wine with my husband, using a gift certificate I was given at Christmas. We were happily surprised by the number and variety of wines available for sale. The atmosphere was more like a deli than a cozy spot to enjoy a new wine. We looked at the list of wines by the glass, which was meager at best. We decided on buying a bottle instead and asked if we could have a glass of it there and take the rest home. We were told yes, and there would be a $10 corkage fee for the $15 bottle. We really wanted to try this new spot, so we agreed. I pulled out the gift certificate and were told we couldn't use it for in-store service. By then, both my husband and I lost complete interest in this place and left. Love love love this place! As Cleveland newcomers, The Wine Spot was one of our first stops. We were warmly welcomed by the owner/manager, who remembered our faces upon our next visit! The staff is uber-friendly and they have awesome free events! We actually won tickets to a Seal concert at the last Rock The Block Wine Spot event! The selection of wine and import beers is excellent, and the staff is very knowledgeable about all of their inventory.
