Harry from Wine Stop, Burlingame, CA

Great family run business. They welcome tastings - 1-25 people! On top of really knowing his wines Harry has a welcoming personality and terrific stories to share. Go see for yourself!

I used to go to their old locale down the way when my ex lived in the area. They've opened a new but smaller shop from the other space. They dont have the lounge anymore and the shelves are high and narrow. However they have a good range of high end spirits, wine and beer which is definitely worth check ing out.

Great selection of whiskey, way more than I would normally expect out of a smaller shop like this one.

I buy Carpene Malvotti Prosecco. It is $15.99 a bottle here and only $13.99 a bottle at Beltramos in Menlo Park.

Indy helped me find a plush bottle of wine within my budget and impressed my coworker and her husband with the end product.

Dear All: First off,…read more I wanted to thank Ray and his wife (the owners) for all the hard work, kindness and truly wonderful people they are to have in the community. They not only work morning to night, but they have dedicated their lives to being a staple and one the most reliable stores around in all the neighboring cities. Day in and day out they have the highest respect for their customers and welcome each and every individual into their store with love as if they are welcoming someone into their own home. If there ever is a choice to pick which store to shop at or which delivery service app (fees are SO high) to order from, our family will ALWAYS make it a point to support the local "Mom-n-Pop Shops" because of how much happiness and kind human beings Ray and his wife (the owners) are towards the community. Again, I cannot convey enough how much our family appreciates Ray and his wife for running this staple business within the wonderful community. If you have read this far, thank you so much for your time and consideration to allow Ray and his wife to be your "go-to" store. Sincerely,

Since the covid-19 began, I've been there 3 times now and so far had great service all 3 times. The online ordering is pretty simple and now that they are well staffed and understand the operations, I could order and pick up within an hour or two. In addition, the buy one get one 5 cent deal is pretty amazing. Really allows you to try a multitude of wines for a relatively low cost. I'm not a wine snob so anything cheap that's also tasty is good with me. This time around, I ordered my low cal beer (wowza - which is quite good) and thought I'd get a whisky. Most of their whisky was discounted so I opted for the Templeton rye 4-year. Turns out they were out of stock so they replaced it with the 6-year for the same price at $28.99. Great deal. Happy to keep coming here in the future for wine and other booze.

Called up the store around 8:20 pm, found out they close at 9 pm and jumped into the car to get there at 8:45 pm. First walked in... no greeting but , "we are closing in 15 minutes." At the aisle , I quickly gathered what I needed since I was there earlier in the day while Katrina came by reminded me twice that BevMo is closing by 9 pm and I need to ring you up . "Yes, I know " At 8:52 at cash register... Man says I needed to wait for Katrina to ring me up . 8:55 pm Katrina says: "You need to get to me before because I don't need to be ringing you up before closing. You should come earlier in the day . You should come back tomorrow . You should come back another day etc.." Btw, I was helping her organize my purchases on the counter to get rung up, bagging my stuff etc.. With all that talking from her, I still got out at 9:02. Some other customers behind me also needed to be rung up. Not happy. I never had such bad customer service. Upper management should take a close look at their staff. If there are people in the store shopping before 9 pm closing hours, they should be able to finish their purchase and not be harassed when they are trying to pay. They should not be told to "come back tomorrow " etc... Wow...

We really want to see this local spot thrive!…read more We stopped in around 2:30pm on a Saturday afternoon after spotting a sign for matcha soft serve -- it looked like a cool, inviting place. I'm also always on the lookout for great spots for a girls' night out, especially ones with a unique wine list and a vibe that welcomes conversation over a special (even expensive) bottle. There's a lot of potential here. The wine selection was interesting -- definitely not your typical grocery store picks -- and the Japanese sake selection stood out, which was a nice surprise. That said, our experience could have been much better. When we walked in, it wasn't clear what the concept of the space was: a wine shop? Cheese store? Soft serve bar? Wine tasting room? A little clarity or signage could help. More importantly, there was no greeting at all. Three staff members were visible -- one talking to guests at the bar, the other two chatting with each other. Despite us walking around for a solid five minutes, no one made eye contact, acknowledged us, or offered a welcome. That lack of basic hospitality unfortunately left a negative impression. At any place that depends on customer interest -- be it a restaurant, wine bar, shop, or tasting room -- hospitality is everything. A simple hello, eye contact, or "let us know if you have any questions" goes a long way. Even better would have been a brief introduction to the wine program, the soft serve, or how tastings work. Unfortunately, we ended up leaving without the matcha soft serve or a bottle of wine -- and both were things we came in specifically to try and purchase. We didn't even get noticed, as if we never came through the doors. We genuinely want this business to do well. If the staff can be trained to lead with warmth and curiosity, we believe people will not only return but also tell their friends -- just like we would have. That kind of word-of-mouth builds loyal followings, especially in local neighborhoods. We hope to come back soon and see those small but essential improvements. You've got something special here -- now just add the welcome.

I let him know that no big deal he could just give me the price. He told me they were. The price that it was on the shelf. This was only five dollars and not a big deal according to the amount of money I was going to spend and would continue to spend at the store however he got rude and started talking down to me. He was unprofessional and demeaning. He told me that he could either sell me for the regular price or not to sell me at all. I let him know that I would buy it for the price, but it was bad business and then he just outright refused to do business with me at all. This guy didn't just miss a sale. He missed a long time Customer and all of the people I would've referred. I actually went in with a friend, a guy that would normally go there a lot and now neither one of us will ever go again. It was embarrassingly, bad Customer Service horrible experience and I recommend you take your business elsewhere. The selection might be good but the service and the management absolutely sucks. This guy needs to go back to school and figure out how to treat other people. He was lacking, emotional intelligence and overall business acumen! I'm embarrassed for this company!
