    Honey Lavender Gelato
    Janni Linea B.

Caffe Stellato is such a great spot for gelato! The gelato is thick, creamy and full of flavor. I got the Honey Lavender and it was so good. The shop itself is a cute deli/mini grocery store with a great selection of gelato flavors. The staff were friendly, and I was happy it wasn't busy when I visited. It's located in downtown Burlingame, which is a pretty busy area so parking can be a little tough! but the gelato is definitely worth it!

Have a craving for authentic Italian Gelato? Well, Cafe Stellato is the place to go to. This place brings you back to Italy. It offers many Italian drinks, delicious desserts and snacks. The ambiance is totally European. Service was good, however an extra helper would have helped with the small line. Cafe Stellato is located on Burlingame Ave along with many restaurants and shops. Easy to get to and plenty of street parking.

Cute gelato and sandwich deli spot! We came here after work on Friday around 7pm. It was packed with students. To order sandwiches, you have to go to the back counter and order there then go to the register to pay. It was a bit confusing when we got there but the employees were helpful. We ordered two sandwiches and gelato: Siciliano with no cheese (3/5): it was a good sandwich. There was a good amount of meat, very flavorful meat. The sandwich could have benefited from more balsamic vinegar and fresher bread. Stellato Special (3/5): decent sandwich Gelato (4/5): gelato was good, we got the pistachio flavor. It was interesting how sticky it was since they don't add air to the gelato. The sandwich guy (who also helped us at the gelato) wasn't fluent in English so we had a hard time asking what gelato flavors were dairy-free. He was a very nice guy though who helped us remake the Siciliano sandwich when he realized he accidentally put cheese in it the first time. Overall, adorable place. We would probably come back during less busy hours to try some of their other sandwiches and gelato flavors. They have a bunch of candy and pasta and ingredients for purchase as well.

Was craving a late sweet treat and came across this place! Arrived 20 minutes before closing and staff were friendly and welcoming. I was surprised that they had lychee flavored gelato so I went with this flavor. LITERALLY SO GOOD. I get why they're rated highly on Yelp. The gelato melts in your mouth and the lychee flavor was *chef's kiss* Tastes exactly how lychee does. This is definitely a new spot I'm adding to my desserts list!!!

Just happened upon this place this past week when out to dinner in downtown Redwood City. I must say..it is just the best. So if you are in the downtown area, feel like getting some nice gelato with many flavors..you need to try this place!! This is a must for those gelato lovers!

Caffé Stellato is one of those places that quietly earns your loyalty. Being open late already makes it a win, but the gelato is what seals the deal. The flavors are consistently delicious and you really cannot miss with any of them. Classic, trending, or something new, every scoop delivers. Add in the wide selection of candies and treats and it feels like there is always something fun waiting for you. The staff truly stands out. They are always kind, welcoming, and generous, which makes every visit feel easy and relaxed. They also offer sandwiches, which we have not had the chance to try yet, but it is definitely something we are looking forward to. The space itself is warm and inviting, with seating both inside and outside. The split doorways make it feel inviting to come inside and stay awhile. Burlingame has plenty to offer, but this spot keeps bringing me back. Great flavors, friendly faces, and a place that simply feels good to walk into.

Caffe Stellato has around 60 gelato flavors and also sells snacks from around the world. I spied some Dubai chocolate bars, Japanese snacks, and Pez dispensers with candy among other things. I sampled 3 flavors but ended up with 1 scoop of coconut for $5. Service was excellent. I will definitely come back!

I recently visited Cafe Stellato for the first time and it exceeded my expectations. I decided to try the Dubai strawberry chocolate gelato, thinking it might be a bit overhyped, but it turned out to be absolutely amazing. The gelato was incredibly creamy and had just the right balance of sweetness. Afterward, we had some sandwiches and they didn't disappoint either. The flavors were fresh, and everything was prepared with care. The staff were incredibly kind. There's not a lot of seating inside but there's more tables outside of the place.

Friendly service, delicious food, and great vibes all around. A quaint gelato, sandwich deli, candy shop all in one! The sandwiches are delicious and filling! With so many different options to choose from, we will definitely come back to try more. I also got the Caprese salad, which had plenty of mozzarella balls and nice flavor. 2 sandwiches and a salad set us back about $50, but it was enough for 2 meals for 2 people. Afterwards, you can walk 5 steps to the gelato station where you can also get a hefty scoop of gelato for $5, or try their new Dubai chocolate gelato for $10! Delicious!

My daughter and i have been coming since This place opened. Ive never had a bad experience. This last time, well, service could have been better. Gentleman Was talking to someone else and not really paying attention. Also, scoops used to be bit bigger....not sure ill go back if this man is working. Dont know his name, bummer.

    Pistachio gelato.
    Scott F.

2.5/5: Pistachio gelato: It's too sweet, and the flavor is weak because not enough pistachio paste is used. It has a lot of whole pistachios mixed into the gelato, which get rubbery. Very high level of stabilizers; it's very thick and pasty. The display is piled high.

We went on a slow night and still dealt with a total "slow turnaround" and some classic operational gaffes. They couldn't find the bottle of wine we actually wanted and then spent way too much time trying to sell us on a different bottle we had zero interest in. It was a bit of a circus just to get the basics situated. But then the food arrived, and that's where the magic happened. I've seen reviews complaining about a "lack of flavor," but that was not our experience at all. We started with the beet salad--the honey-lemon notes were nice, though nothing to write home about. But once the mains hit, everything changed. The Carpaccio was spot on, the Ribeye (prepared perfectly to medium) was delicious, and the Branzino special was fantastic. And the Rigatoni Rustica? Believe the hype. It's a classic for a reason. Bottom line: The service is definitely sloppy, but I wouldn't dismiss this place because of it. The food is genuinely good Italian and the prices are reasonable for Burlingame. My advice? Skip the salads, ignore the service "monkey dance," and go straight for the classics. I'd definitely go back just for the steak and the Rigatoni alone. Highly recommended if you actually care about what's on your plate. An A++ local find.

Always love the option to join the online waitlist ahead of time when reservations aren't available. Favorite dishes of the night were: -Gnocchi Fritto appetizer: Never had fried gnocchi before, had a great puffy texture. Truffle taste in the truffle cream sauce wasn't very strong. -Zucchine e Maiz lasagna: Pesto was a great sauce choice and paired well with the zucchini and corn. -Squid Ink Seafood Pasta (special): Generous seafood portions and the dish was flavorful. -Complimentary focaccia: Fluffy and yummy with olive oil. Other dishes: The Italian Sausage lasagna was fine. I personally love crispy lasagna edges, but some people found it too crisp and too dry. The salad (Insalata di Rucola) wasn't mind blowing, but I'm glad we ordered a veg to cut through the richness and heaviness of three carb-heavy entrees. The restaurant itself is smaller than expected, so I would avoid coming here with large parties. It also felt really hot and stuffy inside, which I anticipate getting worse as summer progresses. The interior is cutely decorated. Service was initially attentive. We did have to flag down our waitress multiple times to order and get the check. Seafood Linguni Special (5/5): If the waiter tells you this is the special today, this is a MUST ORDER! We substituted the squid ink spaghetti with linguini, and it perfectly soaked up the DECADENT SAUCE. Not too salty and perfectly balanced. Complimented the seafood incredibly. I will come back and eat this EVERY TIME. Pesto Gnocchi (4/5): They cook the gnocchi really tender and soft, so don't expect really chewy potato dumplings. I personally like the texture and it absorbed the pesto really well. This had no frills and was simple. Could use some more salt and cheese, but still easily yummy. -1 star because we did find a little piece of white plastic in our Lasagna Bolognese (pictured in this review). Their version of truffle gnocchi is simply perfect - four delicate hand rolled pillows swimming in butter with fried sage leaves and truffle oil. I always have to stop myself from canceling everything else I've ordered and piping up " eight more gnocchi please". I opted for the salmon and my kid really likes Stella's chicken parmesan. The Stella salad features a yummy champagne dressing, candied nuts and cranberries in a nest of butter lettuce. The salmon was delicious, though the thinnest parts of the fish were a tad overcooked. The broccolini', spinach and carrot combination were fantastic, as were the perfect mashed potatoes. Kyle loved his chicken and made me take a bite if his pasta- yummm. Generally we are not dessert orderers but we were delighted with the lava cake and caramel gelato. It was a lot of food, especially for this restaurant and a true bargain at $65 for a four course meal at one of our neighborhood favorites that we generally save for special occasions due to the price tag.

I made reservations for our party of eight for 6:30 PM via OpenTable. Easy peasy. Adding a few extra minutes to our travel time for finding street parking, we arrived just in time. No other tables were occupied, inside nor outside at the front patio. The venue, a warm space with dramatic lighting, was very clean and tidy during our visit. Trapeze's menu offers Italian fare with Mediterranean and Californian nuances. Upon seating, we were served baskets of complimentary bread accompanied with a unique red thick dipping oil which Peter enjoyed so much that he asked for more. The servers happily gave us extra servings. In addition to cocktails, wine, and coffee drinks, below are what we ordered for dinner: Lemon Citrus and Avocado Salad ($13) - I believe that Mom ordered this and found it to be light and refreshing. Ahi Tuna Tartar ($20) - I think that Peter and Mara shared this and ate it all up. I didn't hear any comments on it, though. Beet Salad ($14) - A very nice salad with generous slices of red and yellow beets and goat cheese. For an additional $12, Auntie Marissa added Salmon to her salad and had it as her main dish which filled her up. Grilled Polenta Cake ($12) - Auntie Marissa found this starter to be rich and filling. She said that Pal would really like it. Penne Con Pomodora E Melanzane ($20) - DJ was not very impressed by this bowl of pasta and eggplant, unfortunately. Paella Valencia ($32) - Uncle Danny is not a big seafood eater, but he was very pleased with this Spanish rice dish. Grilled Filet Mignon ($50) - Yum! This was my order and I loved it. Duck Ragu ($26) - Peter did not seem as enthusiastic about this pasta dish as he did with the complimentary red dipping oil for the baskets of bread. Penne Al Forno ($26) - Mom ordered this and thought that it was good. Classic Italian Tiramisu ($12) - This was served to me on the house, topped with a lit candle for my birthday. Everyone enjoyed sharing it. Bread Pudding ($13) - Ok, according to DJ. Trio of French Mini-Chocolate Beignets ($12) - These round beignets were like light donut holes filled with chocolate. They were nice, especially with the side of whipped cream and sliced strawberries. Service was excellently friendly, accommodating, and attentive.
