The decor is so interesting and tasteful, perfect for the area. The kitchen was equipped with full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster, stove/oven and all the other items you could need. We had two children with us, so it was great to have a fully stocked kitchen. Bonus - they have a winery on the property, Rocky Point Winery. It was so fun and convenient to be able to go downstairs and order a glass of wine (beer/mixed drink), enjoy a tasty snack and sit at the lovely patio and garden areas. It has a nice selection of gifts to purchase at the winery as well. As I mentioned, the owner and staff were so accommodating and responsive. I highly recommend the Red Fern Inn for your next stay up at the "islands".

The tasting options allowed you to either choose a flight or pay $1.50 per tasting, and we opted for the latter. While their selection of dry reds was limited, the Adonia Berry caught my attention. A medium dry wine, it tasted like biting into a peanut butter and jelly sandwich--absolutely delicious. We couldn't resist walking away with two bottles of the Retriever Red Apple Blend. With our daughter @morganmmiller being a golden retriever lover, we knew she'd appreciate the bottle just as much as we did. Overall, it was a wonderful experience at this winery. They did not have a chardonnay or anything close. The traditional cheese tray was obviously pre- cubed cheeses, some plain soda crackers and a half a peach. I asked about getting a half order or the "gourmet " cheese tray but the server said they don't offer it because everything is pre-proportioned, which leads me to believe it's from Costco or the like. All in all pretty disappointing. Ww love stopping at wineries but unless friends want to go, ill avoid this one. We have frequented the orchard store for decades but even that has gotten so expensive we have cut back.

I asked the waiter if they forgot the other scallops, he said that all you get because of the cost for the scallops. They have umbrellas to shade you from the sun which we really needed the day we were there! They have a host at the front to bring you to your seat/table and then the wait staff come to take your order. I had a flight which come with your choice of three wines. I had three of their dry reds and they were all pretty tasty - the Eagles Eryie being my favorite. They have a little store inside where you can buy wine to go and other wine related things. They are also a dog friendly place which was good because I had my pup with me that day!

My husband and I were impressed with the quality and diversity of the regional wines. Dick Ries led our tour and was OUTSTANDING! Informative and engaged and charming! He was knowledgeable across the board and was connected with the staff and operations at each of our stops. We've done lots of wine tastings and tours over the years and I was wondering if I'd learn anything new AND I DID! The packet they provided for the tour was excellent and VERY useful and informative. It was a beautiful day and the wineries were gorgeous and treated us like royalty. It was a treat to be delivered to each location and to just sit back and enjoy the ride. They only have a few sweet wines the sweetest being the red dolce. It's fruity and sweet. We like it. They have semi sweet and dry as well. They have a porch/patio and inside are some chairs and tables. They also have a loft area. That's where we went. The place was hoping around 1p on a Sunday when we went. A book club was there and several couples. They also had a coffee tasting from a local grower. The smell of fresh coffee was very overwhelming so we had to try. The service is good. Staff is nice. Prices about average. They have some food and you can bring your own. The issue and unfortunately there was one, was that there were thousands of fruit flies invading the place. I guess they crushed grapes for harvest and the fruit flies are a thing that happens. It was very annoying and obnoxious. Wine, food, and you had to be covered because the flies were on every surface. It was rainy so no outdoor escape on the patio. There are ways to control the flies. Use that blue light to attract them or something. If you want people to sit and drink. Make it easy. Flies are not making it easy. We will go back. But I'll call to make sure flies are gone.
