We came in because this is a Harvest Host location, and it was just about dark. Little did we know it was the fourth Wednesday of the month and they host polka night! It was bustling! We grabbed a seat, enjoyed the music and company, danced, and ordered some delicious food! We loved the gluten free margarita pizza and pretzels! We also ordered their Lake Effect cider - delicious and reminiscent of mulled cider - and got a flight of wines. Our favorites were the raspberry dessert wine and the Catawala blush. Spring Hill is a gem. There are a lot of wineries in the Geneva area, but this is the one I would recommend. They have fantastic wine, every single wine I tried was at least a 9/10. Their hard ciders are also delicious.. the cider with the bourbon hint tasted like a cozy night by a campfire. I would recommend Cranberry wine if you're into cranberry.. they did it right. And some of my other favorites were the Red Raspberry, Blackberry, and Apple wines. The man behind the bar seemed to be the one running the show, he was knowledgeable and very helpful picking out what to try. The service was friendly and enjoyable. They have a lot of little things for sale including hand painted wine glasses that were adorable! The experience here bested every experience I've had at other wineries, and for a fraction of the cost. You can sample 6 wines for $10. I always go here when I'm in the area which is about once a year . It's a beautiful winery with beautiful landscaping. Plenty of tables scattered among the landscape and also a covered patio with a fire pit . Summer time they usually have music . They have a very limited menue . This is one of my favorite winery's. I was a little surprised the reviews were not much better here, note many are 5+ years ago, improvements definitely were made. This is one of my "usual suspects" for wine, food and music. The service is always friendly, I often choose Merlot though I usually arrive with two friends who adore their Niagra. I like their featured soup of the day- they also have a soup/salad special. Flatbreads are always always always yummy- my fave being the Hot Honey Pepperoni (omg! Yummy!) They always have great bands and dancing is the norm here! There is a beautiful, large gift shop, a bakery with loads of sweet treats, and specialty drinks that change with the theme (Valentines Day, St Patrick's etc). My fave is to sit outside in summer at their large patio, they have an awesome stage and ample seating all around. Love 'dem. Now go stop out there! read more

Ordering food was a bit odd. The employees was the cash register would come and go. Different employees running the orders. Not sure what was going on there, bc it slowed down the ordering process a lot. We ordered an appetizer and two meals. I was confused why the appetizer didn't come out first. We waited over an hour, I talked to the manager about where our food was at. She blamed it our buzzer. Then she dropped it on the floor. But our food wasn't ready for another 20 Mins after I asked about our food. The manager apologized and then gave me a cookie. Like that would offset the poor service and having to wait an hour and twenty minutes. The prices are different online then they inside. The spinach dip was $9 online and $12 on the menu. We came here to hear the band. The place itself is very nice and rustic, very typical for a winery. Service was good and attentive, on a slow side, but they had a full house so servers really had their hands full but really no big deal. We had wine tasters and couple of bottles of wine (there were 6 of us), we had cheese pizza and salads and cheeseburger soup. Food overall was good, not amazing, no bad, good enough. The interior is cute and decorated adorably for fall. Lots of stone fireplaces. Let's chat the real reason you come...the wine. Wide variety of wines, fruits wines, and ciders. Covered Bridge wines are a bit sweeter. I enjoyed the Covered Bridge Heritage as a slushy, which they offer. Unoaked Chardonnay was one of my favorites. Bought a bottle of Vidal Blanc. We all agreed it was easy to drink. Cab sauv and chambourcin were nice and dry. Snacked on the smoked Gouda dip. Tasty along with a variety of crackers and fruit. I would call this the McDonald's of wineries but that would be an insult to the fine cuisine that McDonald's serves up in comparison to this poor excuse of a winery/restaurant. The wine is disgustingly sweet and flavorless. The reds taste like Welch's grape juice with isopropyl alcohol and tap water mixed in. The Chardonnay tasted like pure alcohol, green beans, and pure ether. The hard cider was overly sweet and had the peculiarly distinct smell of unshowered, elderly smoker. I ordered the pizza, which was insultingly small and was clearly formerly frozen. The sauce on the pizza, true to Spring Hill form, was over poweringly sweet. At least they have one thing consistent! The taste of freezer was still readily apparent in my wife's burger. She remarked that her bag of chips was hands down the best part of her meal. Whoops. The live music was hot and fresh though. The place was very nice on the outside, the parking lot had vineyards as your spot where you parked at. Hard to explain but a very neat place to visit. I will be back. My husband and I went for dinner and a drink yesterday, heritage wine slushee was delicious however we waited 1 1/2 hours for our food only for it to arrive cold. See, I love tasting wine. Maybe my taste in wine is terrible - yes. But at Spring Hill, they offered the most generous tasting of 8 or 9 wines for $5. You can't beat that! And they brought it to your table! So you didn't have to worry about the face you made after you didn't like the Peach wine or whatever. It's the perfect setup. They also serve food - salads, wraps, sandwiches. Which is perfect for a winery. Especially when you have to drive back to Cleveland. I'm pretty sure this winery will be a must-stop for my family from now on. The live music, ambiance, food and wine keep you wanting to return. I can't remember the name of the red wine we ordered, but it was peppery, easy to sip and delicious. Needless to say we ordered two bottles. My Mom, who's allergic to wines made with grapes really enjoyed the other fruit wines, particularly the apple! The pretzel stick appetizer was buttery, hot and a huge hit. Simple, nothing special, but good! The cheese steaks came on warm baguette with lots of grilled onions, peppers and mushrooms. The bread tastes homemade, but I would have liked more melty cheese. With each sandwich you get a veggie or fruit plate and your choice of chip flavors. This place was packed and yet our server was spot on all night long. She catered to our younger guest with icee cider and suggested a cheese pizza when he didn't like his wings. She was also really quick and just sweet all around. Granted we went on a very muggy night, it was really hot inside. No AC at all. The band was awesome, but this band was really loud for being inside the restaurant. My guests had to all yell at each other the whole time. We checked in on Yelp for the free cheese tray. Our server had never heard of it. Which was no big deal, she asked another server and she had never heard of it either. Although I appreciated the free cheese plate, compliments of my Yelp check in, I can't say that I thought this place was awesome. Maybe I was too sober. Or maybe I was weirded out by the people my grandparents age shaking their groove thing on the dance floor. Dunno. But I can say that the Riesling I had was pretty good. Service was not so hot when I stopped in. Granted, it was an hour before closing on a Saturday night and the place was packed, but did that waitress really need to hip check me? The band was playing so loud that it was tough to order or talk to my friends. I think this caused me to drink my wine faster than normal so I wasn't just standing around awkwardly. Maybe that's a strategic move on their part to sell more wine. The people lucky enough to snag a table and some food seemed to be having a better time than I was. I'd definitely like to go back and try some different wine and more food than the free cheese. This is a cute little winery. My husband and I did a tasting and it was pretty good. I enjoyed the black raspberry wine and even bought a bottle to take home. My husband enjoyed the merlot. We did not eat so I have no idea how the food is. My major complaint would be that there was a band and the music was so loud we couldn't even hear each other talk. We wanted to stay and try more wines but it wasn't worth the bleeding ears. The service was very slow, but she did bring us waters right away which I thought was nice. We had to go up to the bar to cash out bc we didn't see her and we just wanted to get out of there. All in all, I was really happy with the wines but that band was obnoxious. This place is beautiful, the food was good, but I really wish the service was up to par. Upon entering, it was clear this place has been remodeled or is new - it looks really nice. The main entrance is into the winery/lounge/store with plush sofas, a large sampling area and bar for winery purchases. It was open, welcoming and looked like a place I would never want to leave. Furthermore, we were warmly greeted by the bartenders who informed us where we can put in our name to be seated. We quickly move from there to be seated outside, along the rock wall where we can see the band playing, the dance floor, the building itself and the small water feature right outside the property. Overall, 5 stars on greeting, appearance and ambiance. I'd even expand that to 6 stars. This place looks great. However, the experience was marred by our terrible service. As we were seated, our server walked by to say she would be right back in a minute. We waited for 15 minutes before she finally came by: strike 1. Ordinarily I wouldn't have cared if service was a little slow - especially for the size of the outdoor space. You could see the servers were hauling ::ahem:: butt to keep up with the location. However, we were without any hope of water (and wine) while in the beating sun outside. Actually, we were without wine and food for 30 more minutes. Yes, it took 30 minutes for the server to return with our order of wine and two salads, which came to the table together: strike 2. I would have loved to have been served the wine sampler (or water) so we could sit and enjoy the band and awesome people watching. Instead, I counted every minute between when we ordered and when we had some form of nourishment. Speaking of the food, the salad was very good. And priced at $4, I would definitely get it again. It really wishes we had been served the bruschetta we had ordered but never came: strike 3. The wine, however, was not something I would get again. They were ranked from 0 to 4 on their sweetness scale, which they gave descriptions for. I'm pretty sure I started grimacing from overly sweet wine by the time the 1.5's rolled around. If I go back, it will be for the outdoor entertainment. More importantly, I'll stick to ordering my wine from the bar, where the service is friendly and efficient. read more

What a fun night!. This is my second time here. Glad i gave it a second chance. I had the Chambourcin and husband had the Merlot. They were pretty good. Later we tried the Cabernet..very good. Place was packed when we arrived at 830pm. Husband asked if we could sit at a table, owner immediately seated us. I've been to the winery before & has a wonderful time. The wine was great. Food was good. And we had a great time. So this time we went to the Ciderfest being lovers of all things fall especially cider. We didn't know what to pick so we got the tour. Sadly & surprisingly ever one tasted like straight up apple cider vinegar. Very disappointing. I think if you are going to have a cider celebration it should be drinkable. The other bummer was that our server was super slow. It took us 22 minutes to get our cider. To close the wine there is great & we will come back.... just not for the cider. read more

The food, service and music are always wonderful which makes going to this establishment very enjoyable. However this past Saturday night (2/22/20) a 5-6 six year old girl was allowed to sit at the bar playing games and also run around the dance floor for well over an 90 minutes approximately 8 - 9:30 pm. All the while the band was playing with a very crowded dance floor! The little girl was with her parents but I still wonder why Winery management permitted this! A bar filled with adults drinking alcohol is not appropriate for children during this time of day! The parents should have known better and have gotten a baby sitter!!! read more

Let me start off with the things that weren't terrible. The wine slushees were delicious and the raspberry and blueberry wines actually tasted pretty good. I really wanted to try the desert wines, so I asked for a glass of two of them. The woman behind the bar started pouring them into tiny plastic cups (basically the size of shot glasses) so I clarified that I wanted two glasses, not a flight. She said those were the glasses. $8 for a shot glass worth of wine? No thank you. So I ordered a wine slushee instead, which came in a slightly bigger, yet still plastic, cup. Whatever, I'm over it. We had been on a wine tour of three wineries and Spring Hill was our last winery of the day. Our bus driver told us they had good pizza so at the beginning we decided that we would get pizza there. When we got there, there was a fairly short line to order and probably about 1/3rd of the tables were occupied. In other words, not very busy. Our group of 8 ordered 3 margherita pizzas, 2 impossible burgers and a cheese board, because who wants to drink wine without cheese? After almost 45 minutes we hadn't gotten our food yet. Not even the cheese board! When we ordered we specifically said we were with a tour so they knew we only had an hour to spend there. We went up to the counter to kindly inquire as to whether our food would be out soon because we'd already paid for it and didn't have a lot of time left. They lady at the counter said "oh yeah were slammed and we had some people call off so we'll just box it up for you." Meanwhile, the #1 rule on our bus is to not take food or drink. An hour after we ordered, the "pizza" finally came out. First of all, it came on gluten free "bread" only, which was essentially a glorified cracker. Top that cracker with some melted cheese, half inch wide slices of raw tomato, and half a leaf of basil and you have yourself a Spring Hill Margherita Pizza! (See attached photos) The impossible burgers were good, but honestly it's pretty hard to mess up a burger. Don't even get me started on the cheese plate. For $10 they gave us a couple cubes of cheese, some stale crackers and a couple mustard packets. Couldn't even squeeze the mustard into a ramekin or something to make it look a little bit fancy.
