Which to me is a total inconvenience and my family was already ready to eat. He did not offer my money back as I did not want to drive all the way back to the store. We ordered from Wing Hut last night and we're disappointed. 2 Half pound of wings and they were very small with 4 wings. Normally we get 5 to 6 in a half pound and they aren't all atrophied. There is no way this could've met a weight they were tiny wings. One order didn't have enough sauce to even cover the wings. Super impressed with this divey wing shack! My Husband and his buddy have been frequenting this joint for years and always raved about it. It's nowhere near our home so they only indulge when work brings them that direction but boy am I glad I got to be a part of this recent venture. The atmosphere is hipster and divey, and the music they play is amazing! The customer service is spectacular, the beers on tap offered are awesome, and the best part..... the wings ROCK! Wing Hut is fantastic if you're out for good, quality wings at a wings kinda place. It's not really a sports bar. It's a wing place, and it's legit. They've got good beers too though. You order in increments of partial pounds from the counter. Order up your food. Sit down at a table. Enjoy. They're a little pricey for a wing joint. That's not stopping me though. Don't be afraid to ask the staff for recommendations. They pointed me to an off menu flavor, and it was the best one that I've tried there to date. Elaborate details to follow: My friend and I are in town for a conference and found this place based upon good reviews. When we walked in and let the host/cashier know we were first timers he (later found out his name is Dan) took the time out to thoroughly explain the menu and even offered for us to try several flavors. As we were tasting each one, a guy at a nearby table suggested we try the garlic Parmesan (they're wet and looked ah-maz-ing) so we landed on the following to share: mixed 2 lbs of Mild Ranch, Garlic Parmesan, Pad Thai (experimental flavor) and Lemon Pepper (the latter being our safe batch). We also got some spicy fried pickles and red beans and rice. The wings: ALL BOMB, as in super good. The garlic Parmesan were our favs. The Pad Thai gets spicier with each bite but were a nice choice for experimenting. The spicy fried pickles would have been even better as an app before wings and the red beans and rice were good but could use a wee bit more seasoning (I'm from the south and neighboring Louisiana). Oh, and we got the funnel cake fries too. Yup, they're good too. Dan and Jeff came by regularly to check if everything was good or if we needed anything. I know that many (if not most) wing places have moved to doing wings by the pound instead of a numerical amount. This allows them greater consistency across skinny versus meaty wings. And, with the wholesale price of wings exceeding that of breast meat, it makes economical sense. But, that does not mean I have embraced the change. My boyfriend's food of choice are chicken wings and this is his new favorite spot for them. He finally took me here after weeks of eating Wing Hut without me. I do not love chicken wings as much as him, but I was really impress by this place. It is small, but has a nice homey vibe and staff are super friendly. They have a lot of choices for wing sauce and flavors as well as side dishes. Our goal is to actually try all of the wing flavors. So far I like the pesto-paramesan and the cajun dry rub. I love that they have a huge selection of sauces and that the wings come swimming in said sauce (we usually jar up the leftover sauce to use on sandwiches). The prices are up there but when the food is this good you can't really quibble over the price. Start out with the medium traditional buffalo sauce to get a feel for the place, then branch out and get a little more adventurous. I've yet to try a flavor I didn't like... though WATCH OUT if you go for anything on the fiery side of the menu - it can get really, really hot. Plus, if you live in the area they deliver. I was so freaking full from my 2pm lunch at Wing Hut (with only 6 wings) that I didn't really eat the rest of the day. So it was 6 nice size wings. My wife and I are already making plans to split a 6 wings and fries next time, and add on a rice and beans. . . Atmosphere. . casual. You go up and order and sit down, and they bring the food out to you (and beers). Small place in a stripmall, but a nice looking patio with lights (it was raining so we stayed inside) The beer selection was solid. Really solid local beers, including a really great beer for spicy wings (Dry Dock Apricot blonde). In fact dry dock (a great brewery) is just down the street. As promised, we went back to try Wing Hut and it was a definite improvement, but I'm not sure if I'm sold. Our food came out in 9 minutes, but it wasn't super busy. We ordered 1 lb of wings (7 wings), medium fries, 1 ranch, and 2 beers - our total was $26 (EXTREMELY expensive for a wing joint in my opinion). The wings were warm, which was a disappointment. The fries this time were not overly salty, which was a plus. If we went to Wing Stop, we could have gotten twice the amount of food and 2 beers for the same amount of money and I know that my food would be hot and fresh. Also, I could go to a pub and have table service, more food, and a similar environment. However, I will say that Wing Hut has a nice environment and friendly staff, which I think is why people come back. My overall opinion is that Wing Hut is overpriced, inconsistent, and just not for me. I think this time will be our last time there. read more
