Cool little locally owned thrift store with clothes and other fine gifts. It's surprisingly affordable for around here. Winnetka isn't known for having affordable stuff. Get some things on the cheap. They also have a few sales each week. Basically it looks like a typical small thrift store, but the difference is the quality of what they have. It's mostly clothes, and a few knickknacks. There's also home goods like glasses and plates. Clothes aren't falling apart like at some places that are cheaper. The service is also friendly. Get here for some good finds and fairly cheap. It's a little more expensive than Goodwill but it's better quality. There's something to get as a gift or for yourself. read more

When I'm going to a thrift store, I'm looking for records, old toys, and maybe old electronics. This place has none of that. Mostly clothes and housewares. If you're into that, it's probably fine but the selection wasn't for me. read more

I had some men's clothing I'd offered to help an aunt find places to donate some of her husband's clothes to & came across Winnetka Thrift Store. They couldn't have made donating to them any easier. Their website gave helpful, accurate information about what they accept & need by way of donations, the hours when donations are accepted, and all proceeds from their sales support the Counseling Center of the North Shore. They have a well-marked driveway where you can drive up to where donations are received. The volunteers who were staffing the donation area came up to my car, carried them into the store & offered me a receipt for the donation. It's an amazing service that supports another service organization that provides mental health services - win, win, win! read more

I like this store and donate and shop there fairly regularly. The inventory is varied and the prices are inconsistent but I have found children's items that were priced well and in excellent condition. Lots of reviews note the nice people who work there but I haven't experienced many stellar staffers. Most are volunteers and spend more time chatting to each other than assisting customers. A little annoying but, hey, they are volunteering their time for a good cause. As many times as I've gifted to this store, and it's been a lot, I've never received any thank you from the place. Nothing. They make no effort to build relationships with donors. But I do still donate as I believe in their cause. A warning: There's a strict "no returns" policy. Last time I was there a woman, while bagging her items, noticed that a T-shirt had a big stain on the back of it. A clerk was ringing up her purchases at that very moment. The customer stated that the shirt was damaged and she no longer wanted it. The clerk refused to refund any monies. Even though the transaction was still in the process of being completed. Two other clerks repeated the policy and the woman paid for and left with a damaged item. She was not happy. I doubt she'll ever return. How silly to lose a customer over a $4 shirt. So examine anything you're buying very carefully prior to purchase. The minute you pay for it, there's no turning back. read more

Clean, nice people, well organized racks of mostly ho hum stuff from the recent past. If you're looking for conservative clothing or suburban home items, there might be something for you. They also have kids stuff and lots of jeans for women. Not much quirky or unusual stuff to be found here, so I was disappointed. read more

I really enjoyed my trip here. The store is very organized and clean, it felt more like a quirky boutique than a thrift store. Fun selection of jewelry and clothing. My bf managed to find some beautiful enamel cuff links and high end ties. I found some Ecco shoes in pristine condition for $32. Score! We will definitely be back read more

Ok the only mistake I made was going on heir Spring Opening last week. The insanity of the people shopping and the line to pay was absolutely crazy. All of that aside, if you're looking to find brand name labels at a major discount this is the place to find it. Talk about well cared for Brand Label names and variety of it. Designer jeans, beautiful cashmere sweaters, handbags, shoes, table wear and home decor. Vintage jewelry, cosmetic bags, children's clothes, menswear, jackets and more. The staff that work there are extremely friendly and helpful. The store is very organized by size and color Bottom line is if you're on a budget and you want to own the labels but do t want to pay full price I would definitely check this place out. Prices are much higher than I remember. Geared mostly towards women. No furniture. No returns. Buy it, you're stuck with it.

$18 for a TSHIRT?!?!? I don't care if it's Free People or Banana Republic, you're a thrift store and I can find that wayyyyy cheaper on the internet, delivered to my door. I understand this is to raise money for charity, but it has to be within reach for people to come back. Shoes are the only thing that were reasonably priced. It keeps getting more and more expensive and sadly I won't come back. read more
