I wanted to grab a night cap and had maybe an hour and a half before last call. I started by looking for a place near my Sheraton hotel down the street. I asked the door guy and he said one of the only bars nearby was The Woody so I headed that way. When I arrived I realized it was more of a club and less of a chill bar. I came in and realized the place was packed shoulder to shoulder. I made my way through the crowd and got closer to the bar only to see that it was five people deep trying to get drinks. I immediately turned around and went back the way I came. I was at another bar earlier in the night and decided a quick Uber would be a better use of my time. What a vibe! Latin night was so fun, the bachata class made me full like I was back in Miami. The food was amazing. I highly recommend the quesadilla with brisket it was so juicy and the salsa was amazing. The beignets were better than any I had in New Orleans which says a lot. Flaky, soft just delicious. Brunch at The Woody on Main is a must. Great variety on the menu and all made with fresh ingredients. I had the BLT which was excellent eith think sliced tomato and fresh lettuce. I take mine straight but there are plenty of add ons your can do to the sandwich if you so choose. I opted for the home fried potatoes...which was a win for sure! Perfectly diced and spiced and not greasy! Tasted the brisket sandwich and it was delicious. They brisket menu items are.plentiful and this sandwhich came with tasty, think, slow roasted slices of brisket. So good. A friend has the baskets and gravy and reported it to be really good. I also had the beignets which came with three sauces: chocolate, caramel and strawberry and were enough for all three of us gals. Light fluffy delicately powdered deliciousness! Imma get these errytime! Bedt thing about brunch here too is the great brunch drinky specials! Carafes of mimosa..$15 bottles of champagne (hey..don't judge...it was effervescent and pretty good!) Went there for brunch today. Group of 10 with a reservation at 10:45. Everyone was seated by 11. First beverage came to the table about 11:45. Food order taken around 12:30, food around 1:15. Yes it was busy, about 100 customers and only 3 serving tables, but the lack of focus, service was inexcusable. Our food was good when it arrived. Almost every bill was incorrect and took almost 30 minutes to get delivered. We will give them another try, but it will need to be a lot better. Really positive was Prettier than Matt playing great tunes. Only reason we stayed. read more

So my first time going to the Woody was last night. Seemed like a decent place until the server kept my full $20 and didn't return change. My best friend ordered 3 buttery nipple shots with a total of $20.70ish. So I then ordered 2 of the same shots and the server charged me the same price. When I questioned where my change was another server was like that's how much it is for 2 shots. Well 2 shots and 3 shots are not the same price. The fact that they kept my change is disgusting and then tried to justify it. I will not return. read more

The bartenders were very good. Not the worst dance club I've ever been in, but close. Here's a hint, if you have a hundred people in a club, and no one's dancing, that should be a clue that you're not playing a good mix. Plus it was freezing. Which would have been okay if there were folks dancing, but not when everyone is just sitting around. Really wanted to like this place, but a huge disappointment. read more

Food was amazing and our waiter, Shyann was awesome. I only gave 4-stars because the owner was right in front of my husband and I and never spoke, and prepared glasses for the bar a few times. Never acknowledged us. Very weird. How do I know the lady was the owner?, because I asked for clarity. I was utterly shocked and disappointed that the owner wouldn't say hello. We were the only people in the bar/restaurant at 4:30pm. It opens at 4pm so maybe they didn't expect patronage. Who knows? I would go back bc our waiter was personable and super cool. If not for her, we would not recommend. It says a lot about a business when the owner can't speak to its customers. read more

Decided to take my sister out somewhere for her birthday Saturday night and was blown away by the kindness of the staff and owner. The staff went above and beyond to all wish her a happy birthday and made her feel special. I'm 24 years old and have been to almost every bar and club in Columbia and this was by far my favorite. The drinks were priced reasonably and the bartenders were on it. The atmosphere felt very safe and security was active throughout the night but not at all overbearing on the activities. Sometimes you may be hesitant to go out to a new place but the woody was as diverse as it could be. There were younger people, older people, and just about every race was there with no issues throughout a busy Saturday night. This will definitely be one of the best spots in Columbia soon. I would personally recommend a night out at the woody to close friends and family! read more

Power tripping bouncers, creepy old men, trashy people. It's the equivalent of a 5 points bar on Main Street. I'm shocked they share the same building with Hendrix.Save your time and go to Hendrix if you have more than a single digit IQ. Drinks were good though. read more
