I had heard Wright Touch Catering & Bake Shoppe had fantastic bread pudding and it would be worth checking out sooner than later. I was happy to find the small shop in the early afternoon on a warm Saturday. The sweet, understated smell that enveloped me when I walked in confirmed I was at the right place. As I arrived later in the day and was only looking for a sweet treat (or two), I was fine with the limited selection of cupcakes and cookies in the up front case. There may have been more available to me if I asked. The person that came out from the back was very kind and offered a free sample of the bread pudding they had that day: cinnamon roll. The small bites of the sample (warm, gooey, cinnamon with frosting) convinced me to get a full size. Wright Touch also had a cupcake flavors of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, red velvet, and mint chocolate in the case and I choose the mint chocolate. All the cupcakes have a filling in the middle. Both the bread pudding and cupcake were great. The cake and frosting were dense and not too sweet. The bread pudding was everything you would hope for from a cinnamon roll and then some: soft, sweet, and chewy. Tasted homemade and I have no notes. I proceeded inside to a cozy, clean shop, decorated top to bottom in chic cupcake decor-think chocolate brown and baby girl pink. The service was amazing, as Mrs. Wright herself makes sure you're happy. And it's hard not to be with the moistest tea breads, cupcakes, and cookies made fresh daily right there in the store. Just such poor quality food and preparation. Used this company for a week of catering and no one enjoyed a single meal. The breakfast was especially disappointing. Scrabbled eggs should be pretty simple but they looked more like egg soup. Would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

I've been to Wright Touch on several occasions and am rarely disappointed. The cupcakes are fresh with creative flavors and combinations. You can always tell that the best ingredients are used and that the owners truly care about their creations and customers alike. I'm always eagerly awaiting their weekly Facebook post detailing their weekly offerings because I drive more than 30 minutes into and across Cedar Rapids to get my hands on their baked treats. The red velvet cheesecake cupcake is heavenly and worth the drive alone. Also something to note -- I went over 20 years of my life despising bread pudding. Wright Touch changed all of that. I ordered cookies for delivery over the phone, and the folks I spoke to were nothing but nice and patient (I had a few questions!). For a very low $5 delivery charge, Wright Touch delivered delicious mini cookies for my father's birthday. It was a very smooth and easy process. These are not good cupcakes. I bought 7 flavors and they all taste the same;heavy and tasteless. The chocolate caramel sea salt was tasteless and no salt. Disappointing . Other cupcakes in town are better. read more

These cupcakes are the best I've ever had (the pumpkin is my favorite). Everything is made fresh from scratch without using a cake mix (unlike some local bakers!). They also have several varieties of bread pudding, which I normally hate but her unique creations are delicious (the smores is my favorite).
