We were able to get confirmation from Benjamin Moore that the paint should NOT be chipping & that it was a technique/application issue. We then contacted the owner and he came out to see the chips & nicks and had his worker come out to re-sand, primer and touch up the areas that needed it. Owner said it's "under warranty" for the life of the cabinets as long as we live there so they'll continue to come out as needed. I've increased my rating since they fixed most of the areas. I still don't think the cabinets line up so won't give them 5 stars. read more

They did an excellent job repainting my home (inside). Very patient with me and also took on some small projects like installing new closet doors. They used good primer and lots of tape, also carefully protected my brand new floors. They sanded down and repainted all the door frames and they look brand new. The crew was extremely nice and did thoughtful things like be careful to shut the gates so my dog didn't get out. Any concern I had they addressed immediately. They are worth every penny! read more

We contracted with Evan for repainting our detached garage which was covered in creeping fig and in pretty sad shape. Evan's team Mark and Manny removed all the ivy, repaired the stucco and dry rot, applied two coats of thick primer and two coats of color. The result is immaculate! We've hired Evan to do several small jobs around our home and have always been pleased with his work. So, when we decided it was time to redo our huge bonus room, we called Evan. In two days, he and his amazing crew transformed this room, and it was no small task! They installed new casings around all the windows and sliding doors, fixed seams and edges of a paneled wall, added moldings and trim, made an old, open beam, paneled ceiling look brand new. I was shopping around my patio painting project, and everything worked like a charm at first. Evan called me, we agreed on a day for him to come by for a quote, he showed up on time, it was a pleasant conversation, and I received a bid the next day as was promised. I accepted the bid, and after that, it was like interacting with Evan's alter-ego. There was no response to my emails trying to get the project scheduled. I was given the run around on the phone as well. Evan was either "at a conference" or "busy at a client's site" and would "call me when he called me." Of course, the call never came. I thought it most unprofessional. He shouldn't have wasted my time or his if he had zero intention of proceeding with the work. I had posted a brief review and they appealed it on the grounds that it didn't contain "substantive criticism" or something like that. My original review essentially read "they are neither", referring to the fact that 1. the guy we dealt with was over 40 years old, and 2. his team of lackeys cracked a few of the antique window panes when they prepped the job and refused to take responsibility by either fixing them or refunding part of their fee. They did lots of preparation before they starting painting. They did a superb job, and the price was reasonable. I look forward to hiring The Young Professionals again to paint the exterior of a house. Since I was getting the wood floors done at the same time, the painters had to coordinated their work with Leslie Hardwood Flooring in San Jose, who also did an excellent job refinishing our water damaged and dirty stained wood floors. Evan and crew worked on the inside of my house in 2013 and again in 2014. They did a great job replacing the popcorn ceilings, putting in new lighting, a ceiling fan, and painting eight rooms. (They also did a great job coordinating with other contractors.) So, in 2016, when the exterior needed paint and repair, I again called the Young Professionals. They painted and repaired the stucco. They also replaced some wood trim that had rotted, rebuilt a window box ledge, and replaced the wood slats on the roof of a pergola. Everything got multiple coats of paint and the whole house looks new. The bid came in right where I expected and the job started and finished right on time. If I need anything else done in the future, they'll get the call. read more

After receiving a recommendation from a neighbor, I contacted Evan. He was very responsive and we set up an appointment for him to give me a quote to paint the exterior of my house and a couple of rooms in the house. While we walked around the house I mentioned I wanted to update my porch. Evan has a carpenter that works for him and said he could get me a quote. While we were walking through the living room I pointed out a really huge crack in the ceiling drywall. Evan has a specialist who repairs drywall. Then as we moved into the kitchen I mentioned I was considering new cabinets and would like to replace the countertop someday. Evan said his team could refinish my existing cabinets and he works with a granite and marble contractor that he could recommend. Before you know it, I had everything lined up. His team is fantastic. It was a pleasure to have Rob and Henry at the house. They showed up every morning about 7AM and worked until 4PM. They were so hard working and paid close attention to all the details. They even hung porch lights for me. They are such wonderful guys and I completely trusted them in my home. Six weeks later everything was done. The exterior is beautiful and I love my new porch. I swear it looks like a new house. The living room and dining room turned out perfect and that crack in the ceiling is completely gone. They went into the attic to secure it and then refinished it so you would never be able to tell a crack was ever there. They removed wallpaper in the kitchen and painted. They removed one cabinet and refinished the rest. I had granite countertops installed. My kitchen is just what I wanted. These guys are the best and their pricing is very reasonable. I plan to have them back to paint my office and one of the bedrooms. I will never use another painting contractor. read more
