I recently came here to get a manicure for the first time (7/1/26). The gel polish lasted less than 24 hours before it started to peel and my cuticles rolled up. I have never experienced this before! I went back a couple days later (7/3/26) , and now almost all my nails had peeled or chipped. The guy didn't even remove the first base coat, he just painted over it (as you see in the pictures) and it came out very patchy and uneven. The next day, five fingers had rolled off like stickers due to the caked up gel. I went back to get my nails redone that Sunday (7/5) because it hadn't even been a week, and the lady only painted over the ones that had chipped or rolled off, nearly missing two that were in the process of peeling. Everything seemed to be treated like an inconvenience to them, even though I initially spent over $100 there. My previous review was left to get $5 off the service, but I don't ever want to be misleading, so I felt the need to update it, this was a terrible experience, and I won't be back. (7/7) my nails are all chipped and are being removed. What concerns me most is the pattern of how I've been treated recently. The previous manager was always kind, patient, and welcoming. The new woman and man I interacted with was rude and dismissive. Like I was a bother, even though I was very very polite and understanding. I appreciate them attempting to remediate the situation but the approach and style was not right. I honestly no longer feel comfortable or welcome coming into this salon. Do not come here unless you want to get overcharged, and have your nails done with unsanitary materials. TLDR: Was charged for powder removal (which is more expensive) after I explained I do my own nails and only use gel polish. The service was not done thoroughly, and I saw the nail tech secretly dump the used cotton balls and acetone back into the jar she got it from. -------------------------------- I do my own nails at home with gel polish but needed them off in a pinch so I decided to stop here. They were nice at first, and quick to attend to me (I was their only customer though, maybe that should have been a sign...) When I sat down I told my nail tech that I just wanted a gel removal (Online their pricing for a gel removal without service is $10). She looked at my nails and pointed to one of my nails that had a chrome design on it and said it was builder gel. I do my own nails, so I explained to her it was just top coat that I used chrome on, but she kept insisting it was builder gel and after some back and forth I stopped debating it with her because I wasn't sure why it mattered, but it annoyed me a bit because she was essentially telling me I was wrong about what I KNOW I used on my nails. After the service she charged me $15 at the register and the charge said "powder removal". I was in a hurry and didn't have time to argue but I realized she had argued with me about my one nail being "builder gel" just so she could get an extra $5 from me. There is no justification for why she charged me more. She filed off my "special" nail with a drill exactly the same as she did the other 8 nails. I left very irritated knowing she manipulated me like that, and on top of that, she didn't do a very good job removing all the polish. In addition to all this, when I washed my hands at the end of the service, I looked in the mirror and could see her dumping the USED cotton balls and acetone that I soaked my hands in for the removal, back into the jar she got it from. Taking a chance with my pedicure. Everyone has been very nice so far. They just opened up and it just absolutely lovely inside and everybody was very nice and friendly. I really enjoyed my pedicure. I did splurge though and get one of the more expensive ones and got gel on my nails with a chrome finish so that was very over the top. However, it has lasted a bit so I'm going to try to go back next month perhaps and try something maybe a little cheaper but I do like the Chrome look. It is very unique and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it and they took a really long time to ensure that it was put on correctly and I had many different layers to ensure that it would last and not chip. read more

This was my first time getting nails done in Austin after moving here. And I just say I wasn't disappointed with my search. The place is huge. Generally I find the nail places as very clumsy and crowded but this was the opposite. Almost the size of a restaurant. I got a gel manicure and the lady did a really good job with first cleaning and cutting the boundaries. She helped me choose the color and did apply a few options to see which one is looking good. I really liked that gesture. I came around 5pm on Thursday and it wasn't crowded that time but after 30 mins, I saw a lot of people walking in. Beware of acrylic removals!! I've only been here once to get a set of acrylics so I can't really offer an accurate review on the quality and application. However, I've been here twice to have acrylics removed because it's a convenient location for me. I won't be returning to do that though because while the process of removal only took about 10 minutes, I didn't get an acetone soak with drilling. The nail tech dug under my acrylics with the pointed clippers, cracked and ripped my acrylics off, leaving my nail beds shredded and in so much pain. My acrylics were pretty long, so the apex was very thick (which makes that technique of removal more painful) and they weren't lifting at all. I cannot believe I paid $20 to be literally tortured. I should've spoken up, but it was over quickly and I knew I could persevere. read more

Wow! I've seen this place so many times but never dropped by until today as soon as I walked in 15 minutes after they opened, Eva greeted me and asked what I needed. She was so knowledgeable on the health of my nails and what was best even down to the color that would go with my skin tone. I felt so at peace with her amazing customer service. I DO NOT recommend. I have been all over the country getting my nails done and this is the worst. They caused pain and damaged my nails. My nails are fairly long, I had her cut them down a bit but she kept telling me that I needed to cut them off and put tips on . That doesn't make any sense because I didn't want a long style (like coffin). 4 of my nails were damaged/chip from the visit. This is from when they removed the SNS. they don't remove by soaking. They crack the polish with clippers and TEAR IT OFF. It was so painful. I kept saying ouch or that hurt and she said "it won't be for much longer". 4 of my nails ripped/tore and she just tried to cover it up. The pedicure they didn't massage really. It was less than 5 minutes and they even massage my calves. There were parts where the pedicure was painful too. I thought it was just me (even though I've been told I have a high pain tolerance), but the women at the end were squirming with pain too. I tried to see how I felt the next day but my nails were already spreading from the SNS and getting caught in everything. I called for a refund and the women kept saying they don't do that and to come in for them to "fix it". How do you fix damaged nails? I asked to speak to someone else but she said they weren't there and didn't know when they would be. It was such a painful experience, I don't know if I can go back. I may be out $100. SAVE YOURSELF FROM PAIN. *UPDATE IF TAN SEE'S THIS* I will not be returning. I went up the street to Bamboo. They had to cut off 8 of my nails because of how damaged your team made them. I would recommend revisiting basics- like SNS removal. Try not to cut corners as you'll continue to lose business. read more

If I could go less than 1 star I would. Terrible experience! I have been here before when they first opened. Then I started going to Bamboo right across the way (it was PACKED today) so I figured I go back to Z nails, BIG MISTAKE. I asked for simple pink, dipped nails on my natural nails (I have decently long nails, that was until she filed them completely down). When I was done, they were thick, lumpy, uneven, and had more dip on my cuticles than on my nails. I also asked to clean up my cuticles (I have a baby shower on Saturday with maternity pictures), she said she would do that at the very end. When she was done, she pretty much just touched the cuticle clipper to my nail bed, I don't think she took anything off and then just rubbed the oil and lotion on to make them look better. I paid and walked out, then thought NOPE i paid, I'm going back. I went back in to complain. Another lady helped me out, and by help me out I mean she filed almost all the dip off my nail then covered it up with a darker pink sparkle gel color (that she picked out) and sent me on my way. So I asked and paid for dip color, and you let me leave with half dip/half gel? It was a huge joke and I'll NEVER GO BACK. Trust me, GO TO BAMBOO IF YOU ARE IN THIS AREA. This place is a joke. UPDATE 7pm (same day): THE GEL POLISH PEELED OFF, so I now have half filed dip nails with my baby shower and maternity pictures this weekend. My boyfriend and I come here mostly because he favors the pedicures here, and we've never had an issue with pedicures. I've had my hands done here before and it was a bad experience but for convenience I decided to give it another try. I should've stuck to my gut. Their color choices are outdated. I wanted a dip powder manicure and didn't get that at all because it was impossible for them to find a powder remotely close to what I wanted. But the worst part is I was cut not once, but FIVE times. I have had my nails done for years and this has never happened before. And when I told the nail tech that, her response ? "Your skin is just so sensitive." Are you joking?! I'm still in so much pain today. I should have just stuck to what I know and gone to my home salon, Bamboo Nails. Never once have I been cut there. Place was nice inside. For some reason the lady doing my pedi was in a very bad mood with me from the jump. I asked for hot water for pedi she put scorching hot water. I asked for a plasic cup for my drink becuase I didnt see a dishwasher so I assume they wash by hand and prefered a plastic cup. The magarita from the machine was very mixey, tasted like a slushy so I got a water instead. The foot/leg massage was really good but took most time off my pedi. I rather the focus would of been on my pedi instead most of the time it was a foot/leg massage. Nail polish was thick & old so my nail painting had to be redone. I told the owner & she re-painted them. The women helped someone else and she was all smiles & chatty to her. I couldn't tell you her name because they dont wear name tags or introduce themselves. Reply: Today I was on yelp checking out a local restaurant. My Yelp account suggested I should rate my recent visit to Z nails. So I did. I stated that my nails were repainted in the review. I showed my b4 pics as well because my time & money are valuable. I had to ask for a correction & stay additional time to get nail color removed & repainted. The same color of nail polish with added nail polish remover to it was used to repaint toe nails. I opted for the glitter on top not to be used the second time. I went to Znails to treat my mother & my self for her 55th birthday. I expected to received good service from the nail tech & her work should have been professional.
