Food 10/10 Service 10/10…read moreAmbiance 10/10 Perfect for any occasion, but if you're in bluffton, it's a YES!

We had planned an amazing weekend getaway, and while driving around we spotted a trailer…read moreadvertising crabs. Of course, we made a quick U-turn thinking we had stumbled onto the perfect dinner spot. As soon as we pulled into the yard, the atmosphere immediately caught our attention. It felt like one big family gathering--a warm, loving community where everyone knew each other. The homes with their large wraparound porches gave me serious Tyler Perry movie vibes, like the kind of place where everyone gathers on the porch to laugh, eat, and soak up wisdom from the elders. We decided on Chef B's for dinner. Although reservations are required on Fridays and Saturdays, they were kind enough to seat us after about a 15-minute wait. As we looked around, there were still several empty tables, so we appreciated them accommodating us. We were greeted by a beautiful young chocolate hostess whose melanin was absolutely glowing. She was friendly, answered our questions about the menu, and made us feel welcome. We started with the fried okra, which was served with a béarnaise sauce. We also requested a side of ranch. Unfortunately, the appetizer was just okay. Neither the béarnaise nor the ranch complemented the okra, and both sauces missed the mark. For cocktails, we ordered the signature Rum Punch and the Juneteenth drink. Both were enjoyable, but I was confused by the Rum Punch. It was completely clear, even though the menu listed it as being made with dark rum. For our entrées, we ordered the Crab Fries, Shrimp & Grits, and Fried Oysters. The Crab Fries were described as blue crab, snow crab meat, garlic, Boursin cheese, and smoked cheddar. Unfortunately, the topping looked more like burnt cheese crumbs or scraps than a rich, cheesy crab topping. It wasn't visually appealing and didn't deliver the flavor we expected. The Shrimp & Grits were the biggest disappointment of the night. The shrimp themselves were fine, but the grits were incredibly thin and watery, with little to no seasoning. They lacked the rich, creamy texture and flavor that make shrimp and grits such a Southern favorite. The Fried Oysters also fell flat. They were under-seasoned, and the accompanying coleslaw was simply not enjoyable. Overall, the atmosphere was the highlight of our visit. The setting felt welcoming, authentic, and full of community, and the staff was pleasant. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the charm of the location. We left wishing the meals had matched the incredible first impression the property made.

There was a 20 minute wait for a table inside when our party of 6 entered the building, so we went…read moreupstairs for a drink while we waited. The upstairs bartender was friendly and he made me a very good extra dirty vodka martini. Before I knew it, our table was ready! We ended up getting seated after a 10 minute wait. We all sat down and as we looked at the menu, we all realized there were many delicious different options to choose from. We started with some raw oysters, the cajun broiled oysters and a basket or two of hush puppies. All of which were so good, I wasn't able to get a picture before we ate it all. The cajun broiled oysters were my favorite!! Then, our server took our entree orders with a smile and made sure to keep our drinks filled as we waited. I ordered the Redfish Special and it was a very big portion. I barely finished my meal and my friend who ordered the same thing ended up taking half of it home. I was expecting the lemon cream sauce to be on top of the fish but I believe it was mixed into the lump crab. It was so delicious, I could have been satisfied with just the fresh lump crab. My sons ate everything off their plates and my husband loved his Trio of shrimp, cod and scallops. This whole place has a great vibe to it.

Our server was Avery who was great at handling 6 old guys. One of my buddies asked for Swiss cheese on his melt and was told they didn't have any. Then Avery said "I might be lying" suggesting she didn't really know since she works mostly at the other Capt Woody's location on HHI. Mine came with American cheese and was delicious. I would have ordered it with Swiss as well if I knew they had it (which they did). The place was quite busy. For ambiance, we saw 2 delivery trucks which provided some loud background noise and blocked our view of downtown Bluffton. Other than that, it was great!!

You can spend $300 on a dress or everything on the menu including a generous tip and dessert! Food you CANNOT REPLICATE OR ATTEMPT TO MAKE AT HOME. A favorite feature of mine. And service that is worth a Gold star for bringing it to the next level. We love eating upstairs but downstairs is just as nice! I'm hoping they will always be here because this is our favorite! Best chicken I have ever had... to this day. And I NEVER order chicken because it's usually dry, not at The Farm. We also LOVE THEIR MOCKTAILS! Best way to feats and have the best experience in Bluffton!

I had high hopes for this from what I've been told by others. Total disappointment…read more First, the service was awful. We got there 15 minutes after they opened and the only ones seated at the bar. You would think they would be on top of things that early in the evening. Nope, my wife had to wait 18 minutes to get her wine (which we bought the whole bottle). Second, they haven't changed their fryer oil in FOREVER!!!! Yes, I know what I'm talking about. As it being an open kitchen and you can see everything. We witnessed them take oil they just cooked in a pan and dump it in the fryer with the other oil. Are ya kidding me??? All the fried food came out dark as all get out it's been that long since they changed it or even filtered it. Third, some of the cook wore gloves and others didn't. No big deal normally. I watched one cook reach in the garbage and then proceeded to start preparing food!!!! No fing way!!!! Four, the Egg Roll was bland, the inside ingredients was garbage. Over cooked and tough. My wife's filet was under seasoned (well no seasoning at all), a cheap cut of meat and dry!!! The béarnaise sauce tasted and looked like it came out of a jar. It was the worst I've ever tasted. She asked for no vegetables and the risotto instead. She did get the risotto. I'll admit, that wasn't so bad. The bread that was under the filet was ICE cold. Not even sure why they served it or put it on the plate. Fifth, this is a one and done for us. There are soooooo many better options in the area with a better menu, price and service. To say disappointing is an understatement. Oh ya, almost forgot. We had to get a Togo bag and it reminded me of the bags you use to pick up your dogs poop. I'm not even joking.
