I would first like to say: Do NOT patronize this place. Fidel, the owner, will scam you. I brought my classic Mercedes 190 SL to Theatrical Auto Body after it was involved in a front-end accident. The insurance company paid over $50,000 for the restoration, and the vehicle was in Fidel's possession for over two years. During this time, the car was stored offsite, likely exposed to the elements, as the paint cracked and I had to pay out of pocket to fix it. Fidel repeatedly promised month after month that the vehicle would be finished, but it wasn't until I contacted the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs that anything happened. When I finally received my car, the work was substandard. The paint job was uneven with different shades, and instead of sourcing new parts like headlights (which are readily available), he used one old headlight and one new one. The quality of the restoration was unacceptable. On top of that, Fidel refused to provide an invoice detailing what work was done, even though I requested it multiple times. This invoice was also requested by the state investigator, but Fidel still failed to comply, despite it being required by law. I am now left with the mess that Theatrical Auto Body created. Avoid this shop at all costs. If you care about your vehicle, save yourself the frustration, wasted money, and heartache by going elsewhere. Stay clear of Theatrical Auto Body! read more

Theatrical is one of the best auto body shops in Los Angeles. When I first moved back to LA, I bought a 1970's classic muscle car ('74 AMC Javelin). A few months after I bought it, someone sideswiped me with a UHaul truck. I was devastated. My boyfriend at the time recommended Fidel at Theatrical. The damage was covered by my auto policy. He handled everything with the insurance company, and did an amazing job with the repairs. Sadly, about a year later, I was rear-ended in the same car. The damage to the rear end was severe. The guy hit me so hard, he went UNDER the back of the car and even damaged my gas tank/rear suspension. At the time, my car wasn't considered an antique. Just old. The insurance company wanted to total it. But, Fidel was able to convince them that it was a classic, and quite valuable. They agreed and covered all the repairs. Car looked great. You never would have guessed that I'd been hit. Since then, there have been a few times that someone's scratched a side panel or door in a parking lot, or something similar (bastards!). Each time, I've taken her back to Fidel and, as always, he's taken great care of her. read more

I spend about as much time at an Auto Body shop as I do at the gym which is a lot :-) Seriously though my automobile is a magnet for collisions even my friends don't allow me to be the designated driver when we go out. Having your insurance company on speed dial isn't a good thing. But having Theatrical Auto Body is... I buy or get a new car every couple of years whether I want to or not more out of necessity than anything else. Considering my penchant for collisions I'm just glad that my spin class bike is stationary otherwise omg can you imagine. Fidel and his crew are the BEST! I needed a new back bumper and work on my front as well, and I could not have asked for a better experience! They returned my car in better shape than when I bought it! They were HONEST, *very* reasonably priced, quick and helped with my rental car as well! I also LOVED that they kept my car SAFE while they were closed. The car was there over the weekend, and they are closed on the weekend. I also asked for more cosmetic work be done to the bumpers since I was going to do it anyway prior to the accident. 13 days later I got my car back "showroom new" and more immaculate than I left it. Theatrical is great, fast and reliable. I've had work done through insurance with them and on my own dime and I've always been satisfied. I don't like to brag about dings and bumps, but I have a big red truck in the middle of the city. It's a target! They do great body work as well as restoration. I was side swiped in Nov 2015 and through the other person's insurance was given a list of approved shops. I chose this shop because of the location. Fidel, Carlos and the rest of the crew fixed my car back to new and I left a very happy camper. In March 2016, our Uber driver reversed into my car (as I watched it happening) and my bumper had a hairline fracture. I called Fidel, brought the car in and he gave me a quote. I had the Uber driver meet me at the shop, pay Fidel and I brought my car in at a later date to get fixed. I finally brought it in May 2016, dropped it off on a Monday and picked it up that Wed. afternoon! When I dropped it off, I also had the spoiler repainted because it was starting to peel and my back 2 windows were also peeling, so had them do those as well. The only downside is that they are slow...it took far longer to complete the repairs than I thought it would, and perhaps this is because they don't work on weekends and seem to maintain shorter business hours than many shops during the week. Hey Yelp! It's my first review. Sorry to be negative but did not have a good experience at the Theatrical Auto Body. They promised to fix my fender bender in two weeks but ended up holding on to it for 3.5 months. I have two cars so it's not that big of a deal but it kinda is. Btw when I got my car back it had wires coming out of my taillight and a huge scratch on the hood that wasn't there before. Customer service sucked pretty bad and the management sort of lied to both myself and the insurance company. I wouldn't recommend this place to my friends. read more
