I had a single scoop of Nana's Shortbread - excellent choice! It was flavorful, and not too sweet. The fruit and shortbread texture was perfect for the creamy treat. Hubby had the Split School with Barnhouse Coffee Cake and The Rockiest Road at the bottom. All three flavors were very good. The best part is that they use high-quality, locally sourced ingredients which is quite evident. That's honest ice cream! Shop was clean. They had the flavors listed on the window from the outside, and there is both indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy. We will definitely be back next time we're in town. Visited Theda's about 45 minutes before closing since we had a late dinner, and there were still plenty of people in the store! I hate being that person who comes right before closing, but the staff welcomed everyone right up until closing with such friendly attitudes and made everyone feel welcome. The music was a little loud, but they played fun pop music. There's limited seating inside, but the place was overall clean, with some outdoor seating available as well. I also appreciate that they rotate their flavors while still offering a variety that caters to different allergens. My in-laws both got the fresh strawberry, my husband got the vanilla, and I tried the caramel coffee. All were delicious! Such a pleasant experience, and I'd definitely come back to try more flavors! We were so excited to finally try this! After tasting a few flavors, both my sister and I decided to try flights. I got Peach Sweet Tea (soft and delicious with pieces of peach), Pure Vanilla, Nana's Shortbread (pieces of shortbread and cherries made this so delectable) and Strawberry Shortcake Bar. The cleanest ice cream shop I've ever been to! The color theme is nice too, very elevated. One of the nicer business in the shopping plaza. They had a lot of flavors to offer and I love that one side is seasonal (they change monthly) and the other is their regular flavors. Very organized. The staff are patient and friendly. The prices are reasonable too, especially with homemade ice cream! They sell a sampler of 4 single scoops which was perfect to share with my partner. Found this place after eating at Mothers Tacos. They are located in the same strip mall, just at the very opposite side of the building. The shop is very simple looking --- but the flavors are all stand-out! I told the employee I was visiting, and they were very kind to let me try out as many unusual and novel flavors as I wanted. What kind of interesting flavors, you may ask? Some like Rhubarb Custard Crumble, George + Kin's Vanilla Toffee, and even this rewind from my childhood: the Shirley Temple Float! What awesome flavors, and awesome names! I ended up getting 2 flavors, one seasonal, and the other "in-house", aka, their main flavors. I got the George + Kin's Vanilla Toffee (George and Kin is a Diner a hop and a skip away from Theda's - a collab), and the must try: Nana's Shortbread Biscuit - described as brown butter ice cream with shortbread chunks, raspberry jam, royal icing, and just enough cherries. PRO-TIP: Splurge on that waffle-cone. It is made FRESH, and when I held it --- it was still very warm to the touch! Never have I experienced that fresh of a waffle cone! 10/10! We sampled quite a few of the flavors and ended up getting the seasonal farmers market which had blueberries in it, Nana's shortbread, brown butter banana bread and caramelized chocolate croissant in the flight of 4 scoops. We sat outside at the tables enjoying every single flavor we picked and we instantly knew we needed to take some pints of ice cream home! We went back inside and grabbed the strawberry matcha ice cream and the chocolate croissant in the pint size! They were out of the banana bread and nanas shortbread and they said they couldn't just scoop them and pack them unfortunately. Finally had the chance to visit this new ice cream shop. I was so excited to try some new flavors after seeing them on instagram. They are located in a bare shopping plaza with plenty of parking. I arrived on a Saturday at 12:40pm. There were two customers ahead of me which gave me the opportunity to look around. I was greeted by lovely employees. The place was big inside, clean, and has some tables inside and some outside. There was a wide selection today and I already knew what I wanted. I had one scoop of the peach sweet tea and one scoop of the farmers market which was sour pluot sorbet. I ate my ice cream outside which was a nice breezy day. The peach sweet tea was perfection, and suitable for summer! It was delicious I was a little hesitant to have the pluot after having the peach sweet tea. I had a little taste and it was more sour than I thought it would be. In my mind I was thinking, "oh no, this isn't going to be good". Boy was I wrong!! It was more sour because the first ice cream scoop was sweet. Upon eating more of the sour pluot, it turned out to be great, the sourness went away, it was quite refreshing and I appreciated that they used the skin of the pluot. I especially loved the texture of the sorbet. As I think about it now, i don't think I had sorbet before and this was delicious- I would get this again. My kids and I stopped by for some dessert here. Recommended by a friend. They have a lot of interesting flavors, many looked yummy! My kids got blood orange creamsicle and the other got cookie dough and cream (mix of cookies and cream and cookie dough). I tried their flavors and both were really good! I love that they don't skimp on the cookies. The blood orange creamsicle was refreshing and very much resembles an orange creamsicle. I got the crème brûlée and I loved it! Very creamy. The little pieces of crunchy sugar were a nice touch. My little sister got the strawberry matcha and she really enjoyed that, I tried it but I'm not a matcha fan so it was not for me! Theda's is the new local Ice Creamery in town! Napa has needed a local ice cream shop for so, so long and we couldn't wait to try it! I tried the Rory's Cookies and Milk flavor, (which was a local collab with Rory's Bakehouse) and the Cabernet Cherry Chocolate. Both were drool worthy! My friends also tried some of the other flavors and were all blown away by the complex flavors. They even have ice cream flights if you can't decide on a flavor- how smart! The shop is so cute! They were very busy on their opening day but they handled the crowds well, and we only waited a few minutes for ours. They also have some seating outside which is nice. Each flavor has so much depth and various textures from their mix-ins, which I enjoy. I truly believe every community needs at least one good, local small-batch ice cream shop - everywhere I've lived having a go-to spot with rotating ice cream flavors has been a key factor in how happy I am overall. So you can imagine how happy I was when Theda's opened up. The store is clean, classic and cute, and the staff are all super friendly and welcoming. Half their menu is a list of standard flavors, and the other half rotates monthly, with one weekly "Farmers Market" flavor and a neighbor flavor that gets its inspiration from other local businesses. You can truly feel how important being a part of the community is to the core of Theda's. You can sample flavors, and the workers encouraged me to try them all - it doesn't make choosing flavors any easier since they're all unique and extremely delicious. I've been choosing to get a small scoop since its the smallest size you can split ($5) so I can get two flavors at a time. It may be called a small scoop, but the portions are generous!
