    Nana's Shortbread Biscuit

Found this place after eating at Mothers Tacos. They are located in the same strip mall, just at the very opposite side of the building. The shop is very simple looking --- but the flavors are all stand-out! I told the employee I was visiting, and they were very kind to let me try out as many unusual and novel flavors as I wanted. What kind of interesting flavors, you may ask? Some like Rhubarb Custard Crumble, George + Kin's Vanilla Toffee, and even this rewind from my childhood: the Shirley Temple Float! What awesome flavors, and awesome names! I ended up getting 2 flavors, one seasonal, and the other "in-house", aka, their main flavors. I got the George + Kin's Vanilla Toffee (George and Kin is a Diner a hop and a skip away from Theda's - a collab), and the must try: Nana's Shortbread Biscuit - described as brown butter ice cream with shortbread chunks, raspberry jam, royal icing, and just enough cherries. PRO-TIP: Splurge on that waffle-cone. It is made FRESH, and when I held it --- it was still very warm to the touch! Never have I experienced that fresh of a waffle cone! 10/10! The inside was clean, and the employees definitely made the customer matter. If ever you need something sweet and you're in Napa, this place has my seal of approval! Thanks Theda's for a wonderful experience!

The cleanest ice cream shop I've ever been to! The color theme is nice too, very elevated. One of the nicer business in the shopping plaza. They had a lot of flavors to offer and I love that one side is seasonal (they change monthly) and the other is their regular flavors. Very organized. The staff are patient and friendly. The prices are reasonable too, especially with homemade ice cream! They sell a sampler of 4 single scoops which was perfect to share with my partner. It's definitely a treat and I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for dessert. There's not many places like this in the area.

I came here with my sister to get some ice cream. We both ordered minis. I got a mini of the galactic brownie and she ordered the rockiest road flavor. The ice cream was delicious. I also loved how reasonable the prices of their ice cream is. It's pretty cool that they also have seasonal flavors which they rotate monthly. Definitely will be back again to try more flavors. Try it out if you like. :)

I absolutely love the idea of an icecream flight. The way my friends and I can try all these flavors but not have to commit to just one or two is just amazing to me. I haven't been to an icecream place that does this so props to them. The line was a bit long it being near closing time but it was very much worth it. All the flavors they had were delicious and they have new season ones depending on when you go. Nanas shortbread was arguably the most delicious for me and I'm bummed that this location is so far away from me. There's a lot of room inside for seating and some outside as well. The service was great and very family like vibes.

If you're an ice cream lover, this place fits the bill. Great ice cream and a fantastic assortment of flavors. Being that Napa has lost several local ice cream shops over the years, Theda's is a fantastic addition to Napa. Offering something similar to the old Three Twins with their fascinating flavor choices that look odd but tastes amazing. The service is great and the prices are reasonable. The bonus is the give you "waffle crumbs" to top off your ice cream! This is a place we will frequently visit and I would recommend to others.

I had been wanting to try Theda's ice cream since I first heard about it opening! I was in Napa recently and after eating some delicious burgers for lunch, I knew where we would be having dessert! We leaned about how the owner used to grow up making ice cream with his grandmother, Theda, who the shop is named after. The icon of the store that gives it their foundation of success is Nana's Shortbread which tastes like all the delicious flavors you want in an ice cream! We sampled quite a few of the flavors and ended up getting the seasonal farmers market which had blueberries in it, Nana's shortbread, brown butter banana bread and caramelized chocolate croissant in the flight of 4 scoops. We sat outside at the tables enjoying every single flavor we picked and we instantly knew we needed to take some pints of ice cream home! We went back inside and grabbed the strawberry matcha ice cream and the chocolate croissant in the pint size! They were out of the banana bread and nanas shortbread and they said they couldn't just scoop them and pack them unfortunately. The overall ambiance of the location is very clean, simple and professional which is nice because it really keeps the focus on the ice cream! I hope their next location they open is in vacaville!

Left to right: cookie dough and cream, crème brûlée, and blood orange creamsicle

My kids and I stopped by for some dessert here. Recommended by a friend. They have a lot of interesting flavors, many looked yummy! My kids got blood orange creamsicle and the other got cookie dough and cream (mix of cookies and cream and cookie dough). I tried their flavors and both were really good! I love that they don't skimp on the cookies. The blood orange creamsicle was refreshing and very much resembles an orange creamsicle. I got the crème brûlée and I loved it! Very creamy. The little pieces of crunchy sugar were a nice touch. My little sister got the strawberry matcha and she really enjoyed that, I tried it but I'm not a matcha fan so it was not for me! Will be back to try more flavors!

thedas ice cream in napa was found while scrolling on tiktok, my new favorite ice cream place in northern california! their rotating flavors are unlike any other place up here so i had to get the flight not only was the price of the flight attractive, their selection of flavors, the complimentary waffle pieces and the super nice staff rounded up past my expectations looking forward to coming back again next month with family / friends to enjoy the flavors inside while being undecided yet again on what to get next

Long lines with this grand opening! Worth it! This is a wonderful ice creamery with local creative and fresh ingedient flavors!l! Enjoyed the cabernet chocolate, rocky road and mint flavors! Yum. Real fruit ( and skins), real mint leaves and chunks of chocolate and candies in your ice cream make this ice cream feel so special and home made! Locally owned! Dedicated to locals. Support them!

All the flavors amazing. Everything fresh and mix ins made in house. Guy scooping nice and scooped many samples (I'm sorry). Cozy vibes inside. We got a flight cause we're indecisive. Would come back to Napa for this place.

Inside and up close to the ice cream!

Saw this on the way to try out Mothers Tacos and was like oh I'm coming back! You could smell the waffle cones the second you walk into the store front. The counter had several young women buzzing about. They offered us several options to try before we landed on raspberry cheesecake. Really great options to choose from. Prices are reasonable for a specialty shop like this. We sat outside at the small tables lining the sidewalk though several tables were available inside. There's a cold case as well to take a pint to go or grab a beverage. Loved the clean store front and really nice people. We'll be back as the spring turns into summer.

Theda's is the new local Ice Creamery in town! Napa has needed a local ice cream shop for so, so long and we couldn't wait to try it! I tried the Rory's Cookies and Milk flavor, (which was a local collab with Rory's Bakehouse) and the Cabernet Cherry Chocolate. Both were drool worthy! My friends also tried some of the other flavors and were all blown away by the complex flavors. They even have ice cream flights if you can't decide on a flavor- how smart! The shop is so cute! They were very busy on their opening day but they handled the crowds well, and we only waited a few minutes for ours. They also have some seating outside which is nice. The location is in the shopping plaza off of Jefferson Street, so it's very convenient with a big parking lot. So happy we have a cool ice cream spot in town!

I drove down from Oregon to visit Napa, and somehow Theda's ended up being one of the highlights of the whole trip. The ice cream is genuinely exceptional -- creative, seasonal flavors that taste like someone actually cares about every ingredient. The service matched it perfectly: friendly, knowledgeable, and the kind of enthusiastic that's contagious. Here's the problem: I found out they rotate in new seasonal flavors every month. Now I'm seriously considering making this a monthly Oregon-to-Napa situation. Worth it? Absolutely yes.

The ice-cream flavors are unique and so different combinations of flavors. The staff is friendly and willing to answer any questions.

This weekend, my cousin brought my aunt, who loves chocolate, into the shop. They stood by the display and attempted to ask questions about the chocolates. The employee repeatedly responded from behind the register that she "couldn't hear them" and refused to walk over to assist. Feeling unwelcome, they decided to leave. When they told me what had happened, I went over to the counter to understand what was going on. There were no customers waiting, and I calmly explained that my family simply wanted help purchasing chocolate. I asked if she would be willing to apologize and rectify the situation so my aunt and cousin could continue shopping. Instead, she repeatedly said she didn't want "anything hostile" and wasn't looking for "problems," even though the conversation remained calm and respectful. When I asked to speak with the manager or owner, she picked up the phone and offered for me to speak with someone. When I asked if it was the manager or owner, she said she was calling security. I was stunned. At no point was anyone aggressive or disrespectful. We simply wanted service. She then pointed to the Pride pins on her apron and shared that she had been bullied by others because of them. I made it clear that no one in my family was bullying her and that we only wanted assistance buying chocolate. I've spent many weekends in Napa and love Oxbow Public Market. This interaction was completely out of character with the hospitality I've come to expect there. Calling security on customers who are politely asking for service and requesting to speak with a manager was unwarranted and deeply disappointing. I sincerely hope ownership addresses this, because no customer should leave feeling unwelcome when they simply came in to buy chocolate.
