Outside, Thanksgiving pies secured
Liann A.

This review is mainly in regards to their pies. My brother requested I get pies from Sweetie Pies for Thanksgiving this year and luckily I called the last day to order pies for Thanksgiving which was the week before. They are open half day on Thanksgiving so I opted to pick up the day before to not get stuck in traffic. I easily called and asked what their most popular pies were and they said pumpkin and apple pie so I had to get both. It came out to about $80. They have individual pies there from what's ever out so I wanted to try their Pear Berry Pie so I got an individual and there are nuts in it. Their pumpkin pie was nice and creamy and should be refrigerated. Their Apple Pie was very tangy and goes well with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream! The crumble top was also SO good! Their fruit pies can be kept at room temperature. I enjoyed the individual ($13) Pear Berry pie, nice and tart and with the nuts was a perfect touch, still big enough to share! There's a little parking lot located around the Napa River Inn Front area, there's also street parking, and a parking garage on the corner. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, people were getting breakfast, coffee, and pastries too. A nice little spot to have breakfast or brunch if you're in Napa. Cute little spot.

The best apple pie EVER!

Best Dutch apple pies in the area & some fun baked goods for sure, but definitely some of THE worst counter help in the area the past couple years. My husband and I come in here about once a month for coffee and a quick bite. Doesn't matter who is at the counter (male or female) we always have lackluster (depressed, irritated, unengaged) counter help. Of course, then they expect you to tip them 15 to 25%: For what(?) putting something in a bag and handing it to me with a coffee cup (to get my own) & a crappy attitude? Give me a break. It's sad when some of these once-amazing small businesses with high owner engagement at the counter, no longer have the owner engaged at all.

Great selection of decadent whole and sliced pies. The staff there is friendly, the decor cute, and the portions more than fair. It took a lot of restraint to not eat the whole slice of Key Lime pie!

Traditional Birthday Cake

I ordered a cake from here to celebrate Mother's Day and my mom's birthday (a couple of days apart). They were very friendly and helpful when I ordered the week before. They took the time to help me choose the best size for the number of people we were serving to, and were very accommodating with my pickup time because I was traveling in, and you just never know. The cake itself was perfectly decorated and the flavors were all great. The frosting is supposed to be vanilla bean flavored and while we didn't get vanilla bean, it tasted good and certainly not too sweet. I would definitely recommend your cake needs being met at Sweetie Pies!

We tried the banana cream pie and it was delicious! Not too sweet and good proportion of whipped cream to pie

Chicken bacon lettuce tomato cheese sandwich on toasted sour dough bread

Had the Tomato Bisque soup & half sandwich (toasted sour dough, ranch dressing, lettuce, tomato & chicken) It was delightful, something light & refreshing. My 2nd time here. Will be back real soon. YUM

Strange set up....we wait in line...I order a lemon blueberry poppyseed scone....The lady doesn't say anything....We ask about paying; told to go to the other side....total waste of production ...just 1 item....It was just ok...and for 7 bucks it should have been outstanding. The middle wasn't the best.

The service was great. They have tons of pastries and delicious options- both savory and sweet. They also offer custom made products for special occasions. Loved this little spot! It can get a bit loud inside so I recommend sitting outside, weather permitting

Looking for a cute, simple yet filling brunch/ lunch spot? Well, you need to check out Sweetie Pies! They have been serving Napa for more than 20+ years and don't plan on stopping now. They are located in the Napa River Inn area. There is plenty of parking. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Besides their brunch/ lunch menu, they also offer baked goods, coffee and tea. My fiancé and Yelp Elite, Dario O. and I ordered their Zucchini Muffin (it was a day old, 50% off, but still moist and delicious!!!), Artisanal Lox and Bagel, and their Veggie Quiche (I may have gotten this name wrong). Each item we ordered was exceptional and inexpensive. I was already full after eating half of the Zucchini Muffin and one hand of the Lox and Bagel. I love how generous they are with the Lox on the Bagel. The toppings added extra flavor and more texture. I don't think I've ever had a Quiche before, but wow, Sweetie Pies Quick was so fluffy, flaky and savory! I should have bought one to take home!! I ordered a hot mocha which warmed me up just right. Overall, I love it here and would def be back to try more of their eats! So yes, I recommend you check this place out when visiting Napa! Tell them Rachel sent ya! ;)

I popped in this bake shop to get a quick bite and was pleased. I got the caramel pecan cheesecake and it was very light and not overly sweet. The servers were nice and the seating area was clean. I will definitely stop by again the next time I'm in the area.

This very popular counter service cafe is very popular for good reason. The food is amazing. I am so happy to we chose to go here while visiting Napa for a few days. It's worth visiting Napa just to go to Winston's in my humble opinion. The waits can be long to get in and order and maybe even long to get a table, but it's worth it. Also, this place is a great community establishment and helps out the local pet shelter to help find homes for dogs. They even have coloring pages with crayons of adoptable dogs at the Napa shelter. My wife and I ordered two breakfast places and two pastries on our visit. The salmon salad plate was our healthy plate, which was really tasty and fresh. The true standout for me is their pork Belly Loco Moco. I never seem to love a loco moco plate, but I like them. They are typically served with a beef patty. Let me just say that this is a perfect plate of food. The pork belly melts in your mouth and has a delicious hoisin sauce drizzled on it. The eggs and pickled veggies god great with the pork belly, but there is also this wonderful gravy on the plate which is like a chicken gravy. It's so ridiculously good. I can't say enough good things about this plate and how much it works together in balance and harmony. We also tried their toasted Coconut donut, which is a glazed yeast donut with toasted coconut flakes. It was very good! But the dessert standout was the chocolate pistachio muffin. This was so moist, buttery and rich with chocolate and nuttiness. So delicious! I also want to add that I love the ambiance of Winston's and its lovely decor. This is a real gem of a place!

Our table wasn't properly cleared , some dishes were removed before our food arrived, but the remaining ones weren't taken away until after, and the table was never wiped down between. As for the food, I'd give it a 3/5. The chorizo in my omelet was overly salty, not in a seasoned way, but genuinely too much to enjoy. The potatoes also tasted like they had been fried multiple times, possibly to reheat, which left them with an off flavor.

We ordered a side of biscuits because I can never resist biscuits. We were not disappointed. The biscuits were delicious as was everything else. It's one of those foods that usually exists in the background of breakfast, something you barely think about. Model Bakery comes along and casually reminds you that even simple things can be incredible when done properly. The place itself is straightforward with no real indoor seating that we saw, but there's a nice patio and the smell alone is enough to pull you in. Everything felt fresh and warm. We also grabbed a croissant, which absolutely held its own Parking? Lot We had English Muffin (5/5): these are absurdly good. The kind of thing you plan to buy one of and somehow leave with a dozen. They smell almost like donuts when they're warm, with this buttery, slightly sweet aroma that hits you before the first bite. Lightly toasted, they develop the perfect crunch on the outside while staying soft and airy inside. Honestly, all they need is butter. They're great on their own, even better with oatmeal and coffee Croissant (4.5/5): really solid croissant. Soft, buttery, and clearly made with care. It had that delicate pull and layered texture you want without becoming overly heavy or greasy. My only complaint is that it deserved butter and jam on the side to really complete the experience. Still, something I'd order again

Upon arrival there is no one to help (or no one offered to help) with luggage. That would be ok I suppose but the two options to get into hotel were 2 flights of stairs or a long winding ramp that went down length of hotel and back. I only had one bag but my friend had a few and it was a hassle. We booked two queens and requested river view, however BUYER BEWARE none of the queen rooms view river. All of them face a parking lot. When we checked in we first went to the queen room and we had to go. For $600 a night to face a parking lot and on outskirts of downtown it was the same quality as a Best Western. Honestly I've been to better Best Westerns. We decided to move rooms to get the view so we ended up sharing a King. My friend was going to use sofa bed but when she pulled out the bed it was made and had a ton of hair on it (maybe pet hair?). Some pros: The river walk area is nice. View of Napa river right off bar could be a nice place to unwind. Another pro is that the manager was super kind and helpful to my friend when we moved rooms, even walking her to the room to ensure it was ok. I'll admit, I was a little worried before booking because of some of the reviews I had read. But after staying here, I can honestly say those concerns didn't match my experience at all. Whatever issues others may have had, they certainly weren't part of our stay. The location is hard to beat. Being right along the Napa River makes a huge difference. Morning coffee by the water with the walking path just steps away sets the tone for the whole day. It feels peaceful and tucked away, yet you're still within easy walking distance to downtown Napa's tasting rooms, restaurants, and shops. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable without feeling overly fancy or pretentious. The bed was great, the bathroom was well-appointed, and I appreciated the little details that made the stay feel thoughtful. If you can get a river-facing room, it's worth it. The outdoor spaces are really what make this place special. There's something about sitting outside in the evening with a glass of wine, watching the river drift by, that just feels very "Napa." Service was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The staff really stood out -- especially the woman working in the café in the morning. She was warm, upbeat, and genuinely made the start of the day feel special. It's those small personal touches that elevate a stay from good to memorable. Another big plus: they offer free EV charging, which was a great perk and made the trip even more convenient. It's always nice to see properties thinking about sustainability and guest convenience at the same time. It also shares a parking lot with San Francisco's famous The Slanted Door, which makes grabbing an incredible meal ridiculously easy. Having that level of dining right next door is a huge bonus. If you're looking for a luxury mega-resort, this isn't that -- and that's a good thing. River Terrace Inn feels intimate, comfortable, and perfectly located for exploring Napa without being in the middle of chaos. Would absolutely stay here again.
