My Pop found Vintage Sweet Shoppe as we were walking around the waterfront. It was a wonderful spot to stumble upon as we were craving a sweet treat after our full day in Napa. The shop definitely lives up to its name--vintage, small, and cozy. They have a variety of sweets, especially chocolates, on display. They also have other specialty items and pairings. Service is quick and nice. My family did all the ordering since I was with my pup. I got a Mango Tangerine Sorbet, which was refreshing and tangy. They use Double Rainbow Ice Cream. My family got their desserts and enjoyed them. I recommend coming for their chocolates, and I'd be interested in their pairing. Originally, we were looking for an ice cream shop and I happen to spot some people on the street eating. It looked absolutely delicious so we wandered down to the chocolate shop, not realizing that it's a full chocolate shop with wonderful dipped selections and began our journey there. Many of the chocolates that are served there can be easily paired with your wine tasting because certain chocolates and certain wines go wonderfully together. Dania was so nice and information friendly. She let me have samples which I was totally happy with, and I was definitely able to purchase more items because of this. You look through the windows of the cases you just want to eat eat eat. I also thought it was interesting that they had wine tasting room inside there but you know if you think about it wine and chocolates there's a place for that in your world. I got the pistachio ice cream with a chocolate waffle cone. The pistachio flavor was super aromatic! It was fragrant and perfectly sweet. It even has bits of pistachio in it! The waffle cone was delicious as well and the chocolate pieces were delectable. The worker was super patient and even gave recommendations on what to get. Came for the festival of lights and decided to do some browsing before nightfall. Stopped in on a whim and saw the ice cream offerings. I ordered a cup of banan pudding and my friend ordered a chocolate cone of almond joy. The banana was delicious, it had chunks of real banana and caramel swirled throughout as well as pieces of vanilla wafers. Only sad thing was the scoop was fairly small in size. I purchased the wine pairing for two on Groupon and used it on my birthday during our trip to Napa. It's such a cute place. It's a small shoppe however the aroma of chocolate smells so good when you walk in. The experience was great overall! Our wine host Donya was wonderful and knowledgeable about the chocolate pairings with the wine. All the staff were friendly and we even met the owner while we were there. There's also an ice cream bar. All the chocolate is made in house and our favorite was the Strawberry White Chocolate. A suggestion for the shop: I bought some fudge, and was given it to me in a little bag in one lump, which melted a little in my car. It ended up looking like a dog turd. When I got home, I immediately put it in the fridge, and then peeled off the bag that had been stuck on it, and cut it into pieces. For a $7 piece of fudge -- can you at least put in a little box, instead of a bag? It would be nice to have this lump of fudge cut up, but I can do that on my own. We highly recommend their Chocolate and Wine Tasting! We wanted to do something a bit different than your usual wine tasting and we were so glad to have found this cute chocolate shoppe. Z was our host and was super friendly and knowledgeable. The tasting included four wine pours, four types of chocolate, cocoa-dusted Cabernet truffles, and chocolate-dipped strawberries. We ended up purchasing the white chocolate lemon bark and a bottle of Ca' Momi Sauvignon Blanc. Definitely a perfect pairing! Given the size of this shop and the tight, small, not too comfortable areas for tasting, I'd like to do 3 stars, but with good service and Delicious chocolate involved, I'd go up to 3.5 stars. We got a Groupon for a wine/chocolate tasting,($33 for 2, half off the regular price) but most of their candies/fudge are booze free. (Think Kilwins or a typical fudge/truffle shop, but with wine!). Walking around downtown Napa was such a treat. This place was a few blocks from Brown Downtown. It's smallish but has cool shops and restaurants. Next time I go I may spend most of a day there. I liked the lesser constraint of not having a reservation and FREE parking outside. We waited for the party of 7 (who also had a baby!) to leave so we could sit. I just think if one is offering tastings, there should be a separate room, but we were in the same room where the candy is sold. We were seated on barstools and a plate of chocolates, truffles, and chocolate covered strawberries was set before us. We paired each wine (the package included 4 2 oz wine pours and 4 kinds of chocolate, apparently that's a magic number in Napa) with a chocolate, and we enjoyed the truffles enough to buy a few. Our hostess was knowledgeable and friendly, with a lovely accent. Another couple came in and sat behind us, with a 'barrel' as a table! That started to feel a little congested and close. They really should consider adding more room if they want to have 2 or more tastings at the same time! I realize that in Napa, wine sells, but there's an ambience to tasting that is more than just lifting a glass. read more

Glad to see that the Vintage Sweet Shoppe was open late, because I wasn't particularly impressed by desserts where we just had dinner. The Vintage Sweet Shoppe had a great variety of sweet treats including fudges, cookies, chocolate confections, etc. They even served coffee. We ordered a piece of the white chocolate strawberry bark, white chocolate salted toffee bark, and a white chocolate lemon truffle. Of the 3 items, I loved the white chocolate strawberry bark because of its deep strawberry flavor. The truffle was fine, and it had a smooth ganache center. The salted toffee bark was a little too salty for my liking. Customer service was great. There was one employee running the storefront during that time, which was considerably busy. After having dinner for Hubby's birthday we decided to grab something sweet. Vintage Sweet Shoppe is in the same vicinity as Celadon where we had dinner and seemed to be the only place close by that has ice cream. It's a small shop where on one half of the store they sell wine. From what I read I believe they do a wine tasting with chocolates? Sounds pretty cool and maybe something that Hubby and I will think about doing one day when we visit again. They have a variety of different chocolates and caramel apples and ice cream. Their ice cream flavors aren't vast, as they only had about 4 different flavors. Hubby got a vanilla ice cream cone and I got a chocolate ice cream cone. I would say this place is just OK. The ice cream flavors are limited and they run out later in the day. They do have a small wine shop and some chocolates if that's what you're looking for. I ordered avocado and my espresso was brewed over the top of my ice cream, rather than being poured over, so there really wasn't any ice cream left in it. This was my wife's favorite event in Napa! Our tasting with the sweets was very well done and Zach was a great host. We tasted 4 great wines but the Prager Port was definitely my favorite.
