The branzino was so amazing, it melted in my mouth and it was just perfect 10/10. The mushrooms were also one of my favorites but overall you definetly need to try this place, all the food and the drinks were so great! Had a variety of music too which was a vibe. Thank you for having me!!

My girls and I came by for a girls night out and the vibes for this place were super fun! There was a DJ who was playing really hype music the entire time and everyone at the restaurant was getting up to dance. It felt like a reception party for a wedding. The staff and workers were also really nice too. Food was pretty decent! We got some appetizers like the calamari, tuna, and pork sushi and miso cod, lamb chops, and chicken for mains. Also had to end on a sweet treat as well. I think they are more of a fusion restaurant here. Definitely come by if you're looking for a dinner with more fun and party vibes!

Great presentation and prices, nice vibe. Food is amazing! Highly recommend. For our friends it was a very nice surprise. They were amazed!

Atmosphere great, the drinks well done, and every food item we ordered was delicious, however it was overpriced for what it was. We ordered the hummus & pita, peach salad, & miso cod over black rice paired with some dirty martini's. The service was good, minus the disingenuous upsell of some of the dishes. The restaurant turns into a club which is fun, & they have a DJ and dancers, but it's definitely an artificially created vibe. It's a cool spot for a birthday dinner or girls night. It's pretentious lol. We enjoyed our evening here, but probably just a one time spot for us.

First-time experience exceeded our expectations! The food and service were both superb. It's a great spot to celebrate a birthday while enjoying upbeat music and an amazing atmosphere. We will definitely be back, especially later in the evening to experience the full vibe this place has to offer.

Commotion with a side of good food. It was our first time at Theia, we were able to make reservations easily on OpenTable for a Saturday night. However, our table was not ideal, we were sitting right at the entrance of the restaurant on a cold evening, half of our party was exposed to the outdoors, causing major discomfort and unpleasant temperatures. Also kind, the way the restaurant is situated. There is a big wall blocking the two sections. If you are not seated in the section or the DJ is, you will not be able to participate much in the festivities or entertainment section, see the dancers, or see the DJ. Which is pretty much a reflection of where we were seated. Throughout our entire dinner there was heavy movement all around us people walking by, the servers completely confused and dis shoveled back-and-forth, total commotion and chaos. Our main dishes came out 10 minutes after our appetizers, we did not get a chance to fully enjoy them and were crammed at the table all at the same time. As we were seated, the host at the stand told us for a party of eight the dining time limit is three hours. This was not a problem and we were finished with our meal at around the two hour mark. We were disappointed, however, to learn that the hookah services were paused or not available for an indefinite amount of time. This was clearly advertised on all of their pages on website and it was a disappointment to learn that so late and into our meal. The food was good, tasty, you are paying for the environment, music, and ambience. It was a fun first time, but I don't see myself going back there again.

THEIA is a gem of a Mediterranean restaurant that truly dazzles. I started with their watermelon and beet salad, which was an explosion of fresh flavors. Then, the fried avocado--crisp on the outside, creamy inside--was simply divine. The manager went above and beyond to make us feel special, and our server,kim, gave us the most attentive, friendly service. The design of the place is beautiful--airy, stylish, and full of charm. I can't recommend it enough!

Went to Theia last Saturday with a group of friends. We were extremely excited and booked the table a month or so in advance. There was 4 of us initially but then another friend joined so the time we were supposed to be given was 3 hours. (Per their policy they have 2 hour limit for a group of 4 or less; 3 hours for a group starting at 5 ppl) As soon as we walked in the hosts welcomed us with "You have 2 hours only" and they repeated themselves multiple times. This was rude. Like you didn't want us there at all. One positive side was our waiter who was very nice and welcoming; also with jokes. He took the right care of us, went over both menus patientlyin details. The only star given to this place is thank to waiter Ando (as he jokingly calls himself) Negatives: - Rude hosts coming to your table to remind you have two hours only with "we really need this table" comments. Like we weren't ordering and spending money??? I get it - the other group they were trying to join our table to was bigger and they were potentially gonna spend more money that night but still, you dont disrespect your clients like that. Very unprofessional and rude. - The girl told us she was gonna move us to another table ad we just needed to "wait for 15-20 minutes max"; and asked us to wait at the bar. The 15-20 mins turned into 40 minutes, then into 50 minutes then an hour. We asked her multiple times if she has any intention to sit us at the new table and she kept saying yes but with no actual follow up or an action. The she completely started avoiding even eye contact with us. So disappointing. These people need to learn basic customer service skills. - A friend was visiting from abroad and we wanted her to have a good time and impression about the place and the night. We were so disappointed and upset bc our night was literally ruined and we spent ver $800 including the hookah my friend got. The food was bomb. Mouthwatering flavors and super cool presentation. The chef did an amazing job. Will I go back? Hell no. Will I recommend this place? Absolutely no!

Came for Valentine's Day. They had a prefix menu that cost $150 per person. What came with that prefix menu? A medium rare steak that tastes what I imagine dog food tastes like, with a side of instant mashed potatoes. And "tuna crudo" that tasted like canned tuna from Costco. This clearly isn't the same Theia I used to go to 6ish years ago. It's cheap and low budget now. Go anywhere else! read more

Hands down one of the best nights we've had in LA! Theía on Melrose is pure magic--stunning ambiance, high-energy music, incredible dancers, and the food is actually delicious. We started with the spanakopita and hummus (perfectly fresh), then the grilled octopus and short ribs were melt-in-your-mouth good. Cocktails are creative and strong (the signature ones with gold flakes are ). Service was fun and attentive despite how busy it got. Come for the vibes, stay for the party! I'm going to leave a 4 Star because I think I know what they're good for. We went for just dinner which is not what the is place is built for. Come for some drinks and maybe an app. This is all atmosphere. I came with my girlfriend and we thought the food was ok. We could see the atmosphere was more akeen to a night out which this could fulfill depending on your mood. I'm giving a positive 4 star review for the service. The manager and the server were attentive and care about our experience, food or not. I respect that they're building and wanting to cater to all types of customers. That being said the calamari was cooked perfect and had a nice aioli on the bottom. We liked the peach salad and the oxtail dish we had. Give it a shot if you're out this way. read more

They Charge a 20% on everything. We ordered hookah the restaurant charges 20% separate from the food/drink bill then when you get your food/drink bill they charge another 20%. So you're being charged 40%. This can't be legal. They do not tell you about this up front they waited until the end then pointed at their menu where it says they charge 20%. However, we were charged 40% because they are double dipping on services, which they do not mention, which is a violation of the California's price transparency laws. Additionally, the service is terrible! I don't think it's right to charge people "service fees" when the customers are waiting 40 mins to order a drink and the place was not busy. The 2 hours we were there we saw the server twice. Furthermore, the servers are deceitful. I order a drink from their cocktail menu which says tequila blanco or mezcal. I never ask what kind of tequila it comes with I just said I'll do it with blanco. The server says to me casamigos blanco, I ask if that the only kind of tequila, she says that or 1942, which is more, I chose the Casamigos. My man got a tequila sprite we again asked the kinds of tequilas and she again says they only have Casamigos and 1942 Casamigos. My server went home for the night after bringing our drink order. When we get the bill, my drink from the cocktail menu has an added charge for casamigos and my mans drink had an added charge for the sprite. When I inquired about my drink they said well you chose to change our house tequila with Casamigos, I said your server said that all you had is Casamigos she made it seem like the 1942 was the up charged. Then I inquired about the sprite. They said yea we charge for sprite back. Huh??? First of all we didn't order a sprite back we ordered a mixed drink. In what world do you charge for a mixer as a separate price? This place is nickel and diming for literally everything! Music is lame! The manager is definitely on a white powdery substance. The whole night he was arguing with customers it was very strange. Based on the moral of the establishment this place isn't going to last long. read more

We visited this restaurant on New Year's Eve. The atmosphere and the evening itself were nice, but unfortunately the service and the food completely ruined the experience. Our waitress came to our table very rarely. We had to go to the bar ourselves to order alcohol and carry our drinks back to the table every single time, which is unacceptable for a New Year's Eve dinner at a restaurant. The most upsetting part was the food situation. I ordered a dish that I actually eat -- specifically, a salad. Instead, I was served scallops, which I do not eat and never ordered. The waitress insisted that I had not ordered the salad, even though my friend clearly heard my order and confirmed it. Instead of simply apologizing and correcting the mistake, the waitress argued with me. Eventually, she threw the plate with the salad onto my table. This behavior was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. All of my friends were shocked by her actions. I understand that New Year's Eve is a busy night and that staff are under pressure, but a simple "I'm sorry, I mixed it up" would have resolved the situation. There was no reason to argue with a guest or behave aggressively. She was lucky that gratuity was automatically included. Otherwise, I would have left no tip at all. It's very disappointing, because the evening could have been great if not for such poor and rude service. read more

Hands down one of the best places to spend a night out in LA. Starts off as a classy sit-down restaurant, then transforms into a Mediterranean club around 10pm, something you honestly won't find anywhere else. The service is on point. This was not our first time visiting this place; however, on this occasion we felt completely unwelcome. We were asked whether we were celebrating a birthday, and we answered yes. Nevertheless, all other birthday guests were congratulated except for our birthday girl. This was very unpleasant and left a bad impression. After we asked for the check in order to leave, we were eventually congratulated, but at the same time a staff member, who appeared to be a manager, made an inappropriate gesture toward another table, which looked extremely unprofessional and disturbing. Our mood was completely ruined. Fortunately, we are above arguments and conflicts, but we find such behavior from the staff unacceptable. read more

Theia is a good time. Service wise everyone is excellent especially the owners and the managers. The Ambiance is very Mediterranean, like it is suppose to be with a touch of something different. Entertainment and the DJ were awesome, the DJ was playing European/International Music fun for all age groups to enjoy. It really takes you to a party like you were in a scene in Mama Mia. The menu.... Ohhhh the menu. It's average. I do like the Hamachi, and the fries. Everything else is okay but for what they charge it's extra since really the flavors were not appealing to my tastes buds. But Again you are there for the fun and not the food. Drinks are yummy and the deserts are very good too. I will go back and try the meats and see how those taste next time. I recommend for small groups to go and enjoy any celebration. First time visiting Theia and we came here for Mother's Day. The restaurant has a great European day club vibe to it. The music was great and we could still hear each other at our table so that was great. The wait staff was very prompt and polite. They quickly took our drink orders and we didn't have to wait too long to get our drinks from the bar. We shared a Mezze Board and it had the most delicious crudité. My kids enjoyed the Theia French fries. Looking forward to coming back here with friends. read more

Wow! I've been to the old Theia when it was on 3rd st. It had great vibes. But now the new Theia has made some serious improvements. The new chef has brought some seriousness to the food. They're more focused on small dishes served family style, Mediterranean fusion, and the flavors and presentation of the dishes are incredible. The labneh was beautiful and tasty. Loved the hot honey on the chips. The yellowtail crudo was also beautifully presented and delicious. The rigatoni alla vodka was so good I forgot to take pictures. The cocktails were also amazing. The green market might've been my favorite with the avocado purée adding an interesting twist to the drink. Theia was always known to be a party spot with dancers, flashy drinks, and other entertainment... but the food just might have stolen the show. read more

Theia is an okay spot -- nothing particularly bad, but nothing that really stood out either. The ambiance is decent, and the overall vibe is nice enough for a casual outing or a quick meal with friends. The food was fine, but nothing memorable. It feels like a place that's more about the atmosphere than the flavor. If you're nearby and want something low-key, it'll do the job, but it's probably not a place I'd go out of my way for. read more

I came here last night 10/24/2025 with my fiance. He took me out for my birthday and I was dying to try Theia. We came at 6pm (right when they opened). The staff, chef, and managers were all so wonderful!! We were the only ones there ONLY because the party technically starts at 8:30. I came early because we had plans after but in general I wanted to try their food. It was amazing. The short rib and ribeye were cooked to perfection. It was clean and pretty inside. 10/10 would recommend. The staff even brought us a flan and shots for our celebration. Thank you for an incredible night! read more

From the moment we arrived, the team was incredibly accommodating, and having the owner, Adam, present and involved made the experience feel extra special. You can tell this place is run with real pride and passion. The space itself is stunning -- rich with history (we were told it was once Charlie Chaplin's studio and later a library), and you feel that character everywhere you look. Books line the walls, creating a warm, intimate atmosphere that's both elegant and inviting. The staff was attentive, kind, and on top of everything all evening, and the food was fantastic. And if you love wine, you are in very good hands -- their knowledge and selection are outstanding. Beautiful venue, wonderful people, unforgettable experience. We had the fries, brussel sprouts (best choice), tater tots, olives, marcona almonds and hummus. This place is perfect for either date night, cute meet up with a friend or after work with co workers.

As for the Rigatoni Bolognese, it was a hearty and rich option made with grass-fed beef and topped with grated Parmigiano Reggiano; we asked for extra cheese. We dove into it so quickly that I forgot to snap a photo! The flavors were robust and comforting, making it an ideal choice for a chilly day. Speaking of the weather, the staff was incredibly attentive. When we mentioned feeling a bit cold, they promptly switched out a propane tank to make sure we were cozy. It was very thoughtful.

I ordered an Angry Orchard Cider and my friend ordered one of their Espress-OR Martinis. It looked great but it was strong! If you are an espresso martini fan who likes this style of drink, you will probably enjoy it. There are metered spaces behind the bar and there is also residential street parking nearby if you pay attention to the posted signs. Overall, this was a fun find and I can definitely see why it has become a neighborhood favorite. I would come back to try more of the cocktails and experience another Trivia Night.

With this special menu, I ordered the scallop tostada and maitake taco. The scallops were very fresh, and it was a very well balanced dish. I would totally order this again! The maitake mushroom was exploding with flavors, though I find the sauce a little too salty for my taste. If I came here just for food, I'd come back and try new things!

Food: The meal is rich. My favorite is their Cherokee tomatoes. Plump, sweet and juicy. The tomato Caesar isn't your typical salad. It is a slice of tomato topped with dressing, basil, breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese. One of my favorites this meal for its creativity and blend of flavors. Beef rib eye (32oz) is a lot for two people. Comes with bone marrow and sea salt to sprinkle on. Great char and flavor making it a good staple. The cornbread and cheddar & chive potatoes were ordinary. Nothing special. Loved the jalapeno addition to the cornbread. Service/Ambiance: Service is serviceable. Servers are friendly as expected with an establishment as this. Ambiance is bright and lively. Plenty of natural light. I'm sure I would have been happy with the pancakes, but so glad I opted for the linguine. The pasta was perfectly cooked and it was a bright and tasty dish with a slight citrus zest. Such a fun dish to eat. Especially in the morning where I was able to enjoy with a nice cappuccino. Definitely a place I would like to come back and enjoy with another person or a small group. I got there pretty much right at opening on the weekend so there was plenty of street parking nearby

I just visited this establishment and was initially impressed -- the venue is beautiful, and the bartenders were outstanding: friendly, attentive, and professional. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by the conduct of one of the managers, Max. During our visit, a group of women arrived who appeared to be familiar with the staff. One of them handed her purse to the bartender to keep behind the bar. One of the women approached me and asked where I was from. I responded, "Here, California," and asked her the same. She replied that she was Armenian. I said, "Awesome, I'm Mexican American." She gave me a look, smiled, and walked away -- nothing more. Shortly after, Max approached my husband and abruptly asked us to close out our tab, claiming that the bar seating was reserved for guests with dinner reservations. We had been there for two hours, quietly enjoying our drinks, and at no point during that time were we approached or informed of any seating restrictions. His sudden insistence felt targeted and unprofessional. When we asked the bartender to close us out, they appeared genuinely surprised and asked who had told us to leave. Upon hearing it was Max, the bartender seemed confused and apologized on his behalf. His reaction made it clear this was unexpected. Before leaving, I spoke with another manager who had actually been dining near us the entire evening. I asked why we were being asked to leave despite being paying customers. He seemed equally surprised and asked who had instructed us to close out. When Max happened to walk by, I pointed him out, and Max repeated the same justification. I explained how unfair it felt to be asked to leave under the pretense of reservations -- especially when it wasn't our fault if the restaurant had overbooked or failed to manage their seating properly. They denied any overbooking. I don't know whether this situation was influenced by bias -- perhaps due to the earlier interaction with the woman from Max's group -- or if it was simply a matter of poor customer service. But the message was clear: we were not welcome. Whatever the reason, I found Max to be unprofessional, lacking in basic hospitality skills, and dismissive of guests who don't appear to fit the desired aesthetic. Sadly, this experience has left a lasting impression. I will not be returning or recommending this establishment in the future. read more

I really wanted to enjoy Theía, but it was honestly such a letdown. The prices are ridiculously high for what you get -- the food is average at best, and definitely not worth the cost. It felt like the entire experience was about rushing people in and out to keep the tables turning, with zero attention to whether you're enjoying your time or your meal. The vibe was chaotic and uncomfortable. The atmosphere didn't feel upscale or relaxing -- more like a scene straight out of a club with no class. It seemed like they care more about packing the place than creating a quality experience. Definitely won't be going back. Went to Theía and honestly, it was amazing. The vibe is super nice -- lively but still comfortable. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the design. I'll definitely be coming back! I've now been to Theia for both brunch and dinner and had to leave a review. The atmosphere is amazing, and the staff are always kind and welcoming. We came for Mother's Day brunch and they gave the moms champagne, which was such a thoughtful touch. The food was delicious and super filling, and the Armenian coffee was perfectly made. There's live music with dancers, singers, musicians, and a DJ that keeps the energy going all night. Dinner turns into a full-on party. Attended the grand opening yesterday, and wow what an incredible experience! It felt like being back in Miami with the party dinner vibes and is just what LA needed. The food, the drinks, the atmosphere, everything was a solid 10/10. We tried the hummus, labneh, Brussels sprouts, prawns, octopus, crudo, branzino, and fries and I would recommend it all! I had one of the most dreamy birthday dinner I've ever had! ambience is amazing. It's so much fun! hospitality is 10 out of 10 food. I have no words we left stuff but super happy. The atmosphere is modern and beautiful. Everything is new and clean. It's a grade just for dinner or for a party. It has best of our worlds just the way me and my girls like it. I went to Theía last night for their grand re-opening and vibes were 10/10 I cannot wait to go back. They had so much entertainment including dancers, saxophonist, DJ and more. The best place if you want to have a good time and be entertained. This is a great restaurant that I would recommend to anyone for a birthday or any special occasion.
