TLDR: Delilah delivers the quintessential LA dinner experience, low lighting, live music, and expensive comfort food. Aa few dishes are genuinely excellent, the restaurant doesn't separate itself from the countless other upscale lounge-style spots around town. Delilah is about as LA as it gets. you got the dim lighting, leather booths, dark wood bars, and a live singer setting the mood for date night. It's a relatively small restaurant, giving it a somewhat exclusive, locals-only feel, but oddly it never quite becomes cozy or intimate. Food: Appetizers & Sides -Lobster Rolls ($33) - 3/5: Good flavor, but calling these "rolls" is generous when it's really one roll sliced in half. They're served cold, which may be your thing, but I'd probably pass next time. -Grilled Cheese ($24) - 5/5: Yes, you're absolutely paying for the vibes, but this works. One grilled cheese sandwich cut into four sticks and served with a tomato bisque for dipping. Fun, comforting, and surprisingly satisfying. No notes. -Pigs in a Blanket ($26) - 1/5: Sounds fun on paper but completely misses. Slightly elevated pigs in a blanket that somehow cost $26. Easy skip. -Macaroni Gratinée ($24) - 5/5: You have to order this just to experience it. Rich, cheesy, and different enough to justify the price. One of the more memorable dishes of the night. Salad -Iceberg Wedge Salad ($23) - 3/5: A well-executed wedge salad. The blue cheese dressing is balanced without overpowering everything else. I wasn't a fan of the halved cherry tomatoes. I would've preferred diced tomatoes. And the bacon came in thick chunks instead of crispy bits. Decent, but I wouldn't order it again. Entree -Shrimp Alla Vodka ($40) - 5/5: Inevitably I compared this to Elephante's vodka pasta, and while it's less spicy, it succeeds in its own way. The shrimp are a welcome addition, the sauce is silky and flavorful, and the campanelle pasta does a great job holding onto every bite. Would I Return Rating? Maybe. There are still a few dishes I'd like to try, but I'm conflicted. The food has some highlights, but the overall vibe never felt particularly inviting. Delilah ultimately delivers the same polished LA dinner experience you can find at plenty of other restaurants around the city. If you're looking for the atmosphere, you'll probably enjoy it. Not gonna lie, the reviews for Delilah are very mixed and the 5 star reviews from profiles with no profile pictures and only 1 review were incredibly sus. However, I had already made a reservation so there was no backing out so I told myself to go in with zero expectations. Maybe we just got lucky, but my friend and I had such a great experience here last weekend from the moment we stepped in. Here's what we ordered. Steak Tartare & Caviar: I'm a sucker for steak tartare. If it's on the menu, I'm gettin' it. Non-negotiable for me, full stop. Very delicious! The size of the dice was perfect. Thoroughly seasoned throughout and the little toasties were an excellent vehicle for the tartare. 10 oz Hanger Steak: Not bad, not terrible, not amazing. Very middle of the road, but it was tender and cooked almost to our request (medium rare). It leaned slightly towards a medium, but no complaints at all. I'm a ribeye guy, so naturally I wasn't too big on how lean it was, but hey. As long as it's not well done, I ain't complaining about steak. We opted for the au poivre versus the truffle since we were ordering the macaroni gratinée which has truffle anyway. Macaroni Gratinée: Speaking of which - very good! I think it made for a nice heavier/rich side accompaniment to our meal. I love the little crispy edges throughout. The black truffle shavings on top were a nice touch. Truffle Risotto: Hands down the absolute worst dish we ordered. We couldn't finish it because of how salty this was and I love salty. This was just down right excessive. In hindsight I should've sent it back, but we were already kind of past the point of what might've been acceptable to send back. Flavor was fine, it was just a salt bomb with every single bite. Service was excellent and at the level of professionalism you'd expect from a restaurant like this. I loved the decor, but it is VERY dim inside which is great. However, the only problem with that is after driving for an hour in sunlight and walking into a place like this, it takes awhile for your eyes to adjust. I nearly missed my arm rest when I went to go sit down and almost ate shit. Anyway, not sure where Delilah is dropping the ball according to other diners, but my friend and I did not share the same experience as they did. Zero complaints (well, besides the risotto). I had such a wonderful night here for my birthday. The staff were all very kind, welcoming, and friendly. It's not often that you come by a restaurant where the people feel so genuine and intentional about creating a great dinner experience. The atmosphere inside was dark, moody, and fun! I loved the music playing and the cute lamps at the table. The food was amazing! I had the mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, baby back ribs, and carrot cake. I loved the mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese. They were really well done sides. The mashed potatoes were a touch salty but all in moderation! Delilah brings all the hollywood vibes. Its an upscale swanky restaurant/bar/club with entertainment. I was invited through a large company for dinner. Delilah brought the food, drinks and entertainment. We had a preset family style menu with 2 starters, 3 entrees, 2 sides and 2 types of desserts. My favorites included their Caesar salad, seabass, risotto, and filet mignon. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium rare and was so tender. The mushroom risotto was so flavorful. For dessert we had their slutty brownie and lemon tart brulee cheesecake. Both were the perfect ending to our night. Their cocktails are on the pricier side but are beautifully crafted. The presentation for them was also done nicely. Their Tropic of Capricorn cocktail is my personal favorite if you like sweeter strong drinks. The staff was really nice. Food was brought out pretty quick once we were all seated and they made sure to check on us for drinks. The portions for food did seem a little small but I left pretty full. There was a burlesque dancer and live music on that Thursday night I went. The music was pretty good and our group all enjoyed the entertainment. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Was sooo let down by this place. First of all, the hostesses are rude. Was charged an entertainment fee when there were no live dancers. Was sat in a small table despite lots of other seats open, so couldn't even enjoy the ambiance. Food was just okay, tasted like something that came out of Cheesecake factory but 2x the cost. I have been coming to Delilah for the last few years. Sunday Jazz Night is where it's at, always super fun. However, the last few times I have been here, I have noticed that as the night gets later, my sauvignon blanc gets more expensive. The last time I was here, I looked at my receipt and noticed that while my first glass was $18, my second glass was $23. I assumed someone made a mistake and didn't press the issue. Last night I made a point to double check the receipts, as well as check the menu and see how many different sauvignon blancs are offered because maybe I needed to specify. There is only one. Yet for some reason, my first two glasses were $18/each, and my last one was $23. It's giving predatory, I'm not sure what other explanation can be provided as to why this would happen repeatedly. This place claimed they had a jazz Sunday happy hour but they didn't. They also said jazz started at 6 so we made a reservation for 6 but it didn't come on until closer to when we were leaving. We tried their steak which was pretty good. But their mashed potatoes had something crunchy in it. The carrot souffle was burnt and not tasty. The chicken fingers were the star of the show but for $21 they were not great. The server also told us there would be 5 pieces (there were 5 of us) and it came with 3. I called 911 at 2:05am on 2/2 at location: Delilah's off Santa Monica, CA. The police arrived to Delilah's to talk to me about a verbal then physical altercation that happened at 1:50am in Delilah's parking lot, valet area. It all started near the crowd that was outside of Delilah's. Delilah establishment, had a crowd of women and men waiting outside in the cold from 1am-2am all trying to get inside the club, there was no LINE structure, just people waiting patiently and upsettly due to the lack of structure and organization on WHO they were letting in the club and why we were having to wait long just to get in. There was no out loud instructions being told to the crowd from the club employees, no one knew who they were picking out the crowd, but I was told to stand there and that I'd get in. I stood there for about 45 mins. Along with other popular people who had yet to get in, lots of women, and men. One thing I noticed when I asked a club employee (security, bouncer or dude near valet in black) outside a question, is that he was rude. The answer to my question as met with unseasoned answers and bad tones, which was an another attitude. This was a 2nd red flag to me as the first red flag was the lack of respect for possible customers waiting to get into this establishment. The staff could had been more considerate of the women standing outside all that time with intentions to support the establishment. No consideration for us, just pure neglect. The reason I had to call the police, 911, was that I was verbally and then physically assaulted at 1:50am and the police came around 2:15am. The young man who I came with, verbally abused me due to me complaining to him about the wait outside, he then threw many bad words at me along with threats, provoking a reaction from me, and so I slapped him when he was chasing me down in the alley to my car... which my car was parked in the Delilah's parking lot. He parked my car there by himself earlier. I didn't know it was parked there till I seen my car gps on my phone. When I slapped him out of self defense so he could leave me alone, he retaliated and punched me hard 2x and a Delilah's car attendant seen everything, he was just soooo in-compassionate about it as a witness, I was asking him for his help, it was black male. The next thing that happened was I was able to get in my car but the young male who battered me kept acting irate and abusive and opened my passenger door while I was leaving the parking lot and attempted to punch me again 2x, which he did, and then the car attendant seen him do it again and then tried to grab him but the other car attendant, a Mexican man, meanly, told me to leave the lot, neglecting everything that was transpiring in that moment on Delilah's property. I pulled in front of Delilah's then parked a lil up, then the cops showed up and parked a lil up from Delilah's ready to talk to me about the altercation. The police were the most compassionate and empathetic towards me. They cared about me. I was able to tell them how to drove 5 hours from vegas just to come to Delilah's for this after Grammy event that the young man invited me to. I told the police, I just wanna go home now since he abused me here. I had a bad memory and experience now at Delilah's and having never been inside, and you know what? The police said they didn't like Delilah's either. The police said that I was too pretty for this all to happen to me and to not let a man dictate my life. Don't cry. As I cried telling them that I moved away from LA just because of this type of behavior. Side note, in vegas, I don't wait in long lines for clubs, clubs are organized and have lines established and even give free drink tickets to women on guest lists! I experience top of line service out there at their clubs. Clubs are in casinos where it's safe and warm. The police waited with me and told me my rights and we talked and they even came back to comfort me again as I was gathering my thoughts about what to do next. They told me I can call the LAPD, they can assist me going forward with dealing with the young man. Which I did. The man was crazy and an abuser. That's besides the point. I'm disappointed in the establishment Delilahs, no help from them whatsoever....they didn't show care even in front of Delilah employee witness. I spent my time seemed like all night trying to be patient and wait in a crowd to get into Delilahs, driving hours from home, getting dressy for, Delilah's. I hope the boss of Delilah's knows this is the type of horror that can go on outside of their establishment when certain neglect for potential customers are put to the side. Went to Delilah's last night with my girlfriends to celebrate a birthday. It was my first time, and the place was packed for a Friday night. We had a reservation for 8 but arrived around 8:18 and unfortunately lost our table since we passed the 15 minute grace period. Not ideal, but it happens. That said, one of the servers, a young African American woman with beautiful braids, was incredibly kind and welcoming. She reassured us and told us she would find us once something opened up near the bar. We grabbed drinks, and by about 8:45 we were seated, which honestly was not bad considering how busy it was. We ordered a bunch of starters to share. The chicken tenders were bland and def forgettable. The tuna tartare (didn't have any) was liked. The grilled cheese with fontina, sharp cheddar, and tomato bisque was the STANDOUT. Very buttery, hot, and comforting. Easily the best starter we ordered. The pigs in a blanket with wagyu beef hot dogs, honey mustard, and cornichons were fine but nothing memorable. For my entrée, my gf and I shared Tony's famous baby back ribs, which came with coleslaw and a rosemary biscuit. The ribs reminded me a little of home in Texas, which I appreciated. My girlfriends ordered the crispy roasted chicken and the burger, and both enjoyed their meals. The Brussels sprouts and the roasted sweet corn with chili butter, pickled onion, and parmesan were absolutely amazing! Be sure to order. Food aside, the vibes were on point. This has to be the most pretentious restaurant in all of LA... and that is truly saying something. We arrived early for our reservation, grabbed a drink at the bar, and watched our reservation time come and go like a Hollywood career. When we asked the host about it, she calmly informed us she'd "get us from the bar." Cool cool cool. Mind you, half the restaurant was empty, but vibes over logic, I guess. Once seated, a back waiter promptly brought water (credit where it's due), but our table was so wobbly our wine glass was auditioning for Cirque du Soleil. We asked to move to one of the other 20 available tables and instead they tried to fix it. When that failed, they moved us one table over... only to reseat our original wobbly table to another couple who immediately complained about the same thing. Full circle moment. Then came the wait. And the wait. And the wait. It took about 18-20 minutes for our server to appear, to the point where we flagged down the server handling the table next to us. The wild part? There were bussers and staff just standing around everywhere--apparently none of them trained to take an order. Make it make sense. Drinks were solid: I had the lychee cocktail (very good), husband had an Old Fashioned and a Tempranillo (also good). Food highlights: * Steak tartare with caviar = actually delicious. No notes. * Lobster cavatelli = aggressively mid. Lobster was fine, pasta was oddly chewy. * Mac and cheese + mushrooms = the real stars of the show. Order these and emotionally attach yourself to them. The real plot twist? An "entertainment fee" magically appeared on the bill--presumably to pay for the live pianist who started playing halfway through our meal. (Love a surprise charge. Very festive.) The restaurant is beautifully decorated, especially for Christmas. It's definitely the place to be seen... if you could see anything at all. The lighting is so dim I'm not fully convinced the food existed. For the amount we paid, I'd happily stay home in my pajamas and order a week's worth of takeout next time. We had risotto - really nice 9/10, chicken tenders were too dry so 6/10, lobster rolls - personally for me were missing a bit of flavor 9/10, steak tartare I absolutely loved 10/10 and my other top was truffle tagliatelle 10/10. I'm not fan of dessert, but I had to try famous Slutty Brownie and omg yes , must try. Also, my go-to here is Espresso Martini - perfectly balanced and not too sweet. We arrived at around 7pm on a Friday and the restaurant was pretty empty. We were guided to our table which was right next to the kitchen entrance. I looked around and the entirety of the tables next to ours were empty. (I originally thought they must be reserved but that was not the case as it was empty right up until we left). The kitchen doors right next to our table was constantly being opened every minute or two and I was blinded by the bright white work lights they had, contrasted by the dim ambience lighting in the dining room. Wish I had pictures (they don't allow taking photos) cuz it's hilarious how they tried to build up the ambience and failed pretty hard by trying to cram more people in. I then looked at the rest of the dining room and there were many two tops sitting in larger tables with their own sofa/bench. It felt as if the front staff had some sort of prejudice against us. My friends were in town originally from the LA area and they were told to check out Delilah. It was a total of 5 of us and we were promptly sat and waited on by exceptional wait staff. The drinks were very good and the appetizers were amazing. We ordered the Tempura squash blossoms and the beef tartare to share. Both very flavorful! I ordered the Branzino for my main course and I think this is the best branzino I've ever had. Tender meat and crispy skin with garnishes that complimented the fish very well. The food was not exceptional. The Caesar salad was dry and unremarkable. The vodka pasta was just ok. I ordered the steak and it was delivered sliced and it seemed as if it had been boiled first. The sides were also just bland. The chicken tenders were good. The carrot cake was dense and just sweet, no flavor. They covered the carrot cake with slithers of fried green bananas which was just weird. All I could taste was the oil of the fried plantains. The interior is old school and dark, good for a date. We recently dined at Delilah and unfortunately had a really disappointing experience which was really sad since my partner was so excited to eat here and was raving about it for a bit. When we arrived, we stood waiting for a host for a bit and didn't feel welcomed at all. Sensed attitude once a second host came as well. Not a great start. We can deal and push aside bad attitude if the food is great but it was not. The food was even worse. The chicken tenders completely fell apart. Couldn't even pick it up and bite into it. The breading would come right off and the chicken was like mush. Better off at raising canes or chick fila. The burger was overly greasy yet somehow dry at the same time. The bun wasn't even toasted, it was cold and quickly became soggy and disintegrated as soon as we picked it up. For the prices they charge, that's unacceptable. My partner ended up not even eating except a few bites and was over it. Sad thing is, looks can be deceiving. To top it off, both of us ended up with food poisoning later that night and it feeling the greatest. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience. I came to Delilah for my one-year anniversary with my boyfriend. Overall, it was a nice experience, but I left feeling a little underwhelmed, especially for the price. The ambiance is definitely the highlight. It's dark, romantic, and feels very "scene-y." The live band is a great touch and adds to the overall vibe. It's definitely a place you go for the atmosphere more than the food. Speaking of the food, it was hit or miss. For the price point, I really do think there are plenty of other spots with better quality and more memorable dishes. The skirt steak with truffle butter was the standout and honestly the best thing we ordered. It was flavorful, cooked well, and worth it. The macaroni gratinée was also really good and had a lot of flavor. The branzino was very mid, not bad, just nothing special. The Caesar salad was super basic and forgettable. Experienced Christmas at Delilah and wow, need not say more. It is a dream and something everyone should see once in this lifetime. But don't try to do so without a reservation. Had a reservation for 6:30p on a Friday night and after arriving promptly at our reservation time, were asked to wait at the bar. Waited and waited until ~6:50p when a hostess barely gave us a glance and walked us to our table. Figured this is just another trick in the book to be the highly exclusive pretentious restaurant it is. Delilah isn't our typical vibe when it comes to restaurants so we felt a tad out of place. If you're not decked out in furs, 4 inch stilettos, and 3 lbs of make up, you may feel out of place too. Nonetheless, we kept our best sneaker foot forward and ordered the tuna tartare, burger, lobster roll, Brussel sprouts, and one more item I can't remember. All things considered, the food was pretty subpar and mediocre. It's tough for me to justify $25-$45 entrees for pretty basic food lacking unique flavor profiles and ingredients. I guess I'm paying the LA bougie tax. Service was actually decent once we got past the initial hostesses. Be sure to keep a look out for an "entertainment fee" that they apparently smack on your bill when dining during live music. Funny enough, there was no live music when we dined so luckily we caught the additional fee and asked the server to take it off. Sneaky. *BEWARE VALET* Damage to car and double charge I absolutely love dining at Delilah, and I've always had a wonderful experience inside the restaurant itself. However, I have to share a caution about their valet service, which turned out to be a nightmare with damage to my vehicle. When we left our dinner and went to pay valet, the valet initially claimed my card declined. I've never had my Amex decline before so I figured oh perhaps since I spent a lot at the restaurant it may think it's fraud. My girlfriend then paid with hers instead. I then look and see my Amex charge notification of $20 valet lol. It had gone through. We advised the valet so that they could refund my gf and when they tried, they refunded it onto a completely random card that wasn't even ours. We then just asked if they could simply give her a $20 cash and write off the mistake but they told us that she'd need to call her bank instead. We truly felt like we were being taken advantage of, especially since it seemed they assumed we wouldn't push back as two women. We'll get over it, certainly annoying but not a big deal BUT THEN: While they sorted this we had a line of cars piling up so the valet pulled out my car and backed it up next to the curb. We heard a big "SCRRRRApe" sound and turn to see he had scraped the curb with my rim and tire causing visible damage. This was obviously an accident however unacceptable and I received no apology. A scraped rim and a $40 valet charge ended up being a very expensive valet for the night (as I've valeted before here with other staff and never had this experience). I really hope management takes a look at their valet service from this specific night because it's not reflective of the great experience inside the restaurant. I visited Delilah for the first time the other night and was disappointed to say the least. My dear friend made Friday night reservations here so a group of us could celebrate her birthday. It coincidentally ended up being the night of their "holiday soiree" so we were all very excited. We arrived on time for our 9pm reservation, and were greeted by some Christmas carolers outside! We entered the restaurant and it was beautifully decorated with holiday decor. Sadly, things started to go down after that... We were told it would be a bit of a wait for our table so we tried to find somewhere to stand. It was very clear they overbooked for the night because the place was PACKED. We constantly had to keep moving elsewhere because we were in the way of the wait staff. At around 9:20pm, we asked if there was an update on our table and we were told the party seated there was done, they just needed to pay. Time continued to pass...9:30, 9:40. Again, we asked for an update and were given the same response. The manager brought us a round of tequila shots for the inconvenience but honestly none of us wanted it. Who is going to take a shot of tequila on an empty stomach before dinner? Finally, at around 9:50pm we were told our table was ready only to find out it was a secluded booth right by the door. Almost an hour of waiting for that? After expressing our frustration, the manager told us if we wanted another table it would be "maybe a 20 minute wait but no garuntee." After going back and forth for a few minutes, we were offered another table. It was clear that table was already available so I'm not sure why it wasn't offered after we initially asked. After we were seated things finally started to look up. Our waiter was wonderful and offered great service. We were given the first round of drinks and two appetizers for free. We ordered a few more appetizers, drinks, and entrees. Honestly the food and drinks were quite delicious! Nothing super spectacular but good enough. The evening's entertainment included a live singer and a DJ. The music was good but LOUD. They had the bass so high our table was constantly shaking. I'm not sure why they were trying to go for a club vibe as there is not much room to dance. All in all, even though we ended up having a nice time, the initial service we received left a bad taste. It almost seemed like the only way to be treated with respect at Delilah was if you knew someone or were a D-list celebrity. I don't know if I would come back to Delilah, but if I do it definitely would not be for a special celebration. read more

Christmas at Delilah: Stunning Vibes, Average Food Delilah - Christmas Season Experience Finally got a peek into Delilah during Christmas time Let's be honest -- this place is all about the vibes. Atmosphere: The holiday decorations are festive, cute, and very photo-worthy. December is the only time photos are allowed, which makes the experience feel extra special. Music, crowd, and overall ambiance were amazing. Drinks: * Sunset Spritz (Non-Alcoholic) - Sounded great (grapefruit + non-alcoholic wine) but was extremely bitter. Couldn't finish it. * Ketel One Martini - My husband loved it. * Clausmopolitan - My friend really enjoyed this one. * Champagne Papi - Light, refreshing, and zesty. Solid choice. Food: * Lobster Rolls - Good, but nothing special. * Chicken Tenders - Crispy outside but no flavor inside. Expected much more since it's a "specialty." * Roasted Sweet Corn - Surprisingly my favorite dish of the night. Simple and delicious. * Hen of the Woods Mushrooms - Another standout. Very flavorful and enjoyable. * Roasted Branzino - Okay, but bland and disappointing for the price. * Maine Lobster Cavatelli - Great flavors and generous portion, but extremely salty. Overall: Very overpriced for the quality of food. Would I come for the food? Probably not. Would I come back for the atmosphere, music, and Christmas magic? Absolutely. read more

Came here for a little celebration and was not disappointed. First and foremost the food was really good, but it's the vibe and the ambience that was the attraction. Definitely an old-school Hollywood feel. Live entertainment keeps this place alive and the attention to detail and service is top-notch. The food is a little bit all over the place. Chicken tenders and pigs in a blanket on the appetizer list right next to steak tartare and hibachi Crudo. Honestly, I'm not a huge chicken tender fan, but these were pretty darn good. The fillet and the striped Seabass were my favorite. They did have a truffle pasta which was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. Definitely don't skip out on the mac & cheese side. All in all, yes it's a little bit on the price or side and I do think you're paying more for the ambience and entertainment than you are for the food but definitely will be back read more

Delilah is a super solid place that is one of my go to spots for dinner. I went last night, met the new manager Shawn who veas very polite. They had FANTASTIC live music in Wednesday's. And their legendary jazz night. Good is fantastic but the real price is th chicken tenders. We ordered 4 of them because they are so good! Def worth a date night dinner. read more

So excited to get dressed up and visit Delilah last night. Arrived at 9:30 to avoid any issues with lines. Just myself after a long week of treating patients and working toward paying off my hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loans as part of my stressful life of serving as the traveling dentist for the elderly throughout LA and met with a rejection at the door. Reservations are for two people minimum so I didn't want to lie and book a table. Literally broke my heart. How is this even right? I m an undersized, polite human and a big tipper and I can't step inside for a drink at the bar? I truly wanted to cry. If mgmt has any suggestions how one guy can come in before 10 for a drink on the weekends then please let me know. read more

Didn't expect too much going in but really went to check out what kind of show they had and to experience delilah because a nyt journalist mentioned it once in an article. Service was quite good from my experience and it got busy and loud as the night went on but that was what was expected. Food was also surprisingly not as bad, their beef tartare was my favorite. Steak was also not terrible. We ordered a bottle of wine and a cocktail, the ambiance and show was actually my favorite part of delilah. I just wish they didn't take such a long of a break in between the shows. Would I go back for the food? Probably not, but great to hang out with friends from out of town! read more

Nice place. Great atmosphere. The piano lady did a great job. Hanger stake was mediocre. Seabass was good. Service was fast and accurate.
