This is a follow-up from my review of ThermOil of Watertown, MA on December 11, 2025. ThermOil called me on Saturday March 14, 2026 at 4:09pm from their number of 617-926-0779 and left me a voicemail to call them back to talk which I returned their call. They asked or should I say they told me to me to remove my review of them from yelp because it was bad for their company. I said "Why"?, that's my review of what I went through with dealing with you. The individual told me that he knows my next door neighbor and that we met, he was referring to a party that my neighbor had and had most of her colombian friends over. I responded "What does that have to do with anything"? He went on to say that I said my water heater was not leaking or broken so I told him that I was making a customer call for service and you people never, ever returned my calls. He told me they were busy with "No Heat calls" and I said every company was busy in Massachusetts and I am not talking about the service staff out in the field, I'm talking about the office staff not returning my many calls to them. He told me that they were busy too! I told him that they were too busy to call a customer back? He asked me again to remove my review of them which I responded "NO" it's my honest review of what I went through with ThermOil and told him about my awesome service dealing with 128 Plumbing and Heating in Wakefield, MA. And I went on to tell him that this phone call to me is only going to make a worse review of ThermOil. He responded "So you are not going to remove your review of our company" and I told him again "NO" and he hung up. Well, if I get a knock on my door and some guys from ThermOil tell me they are here to change my mind about my review of their company, I will let you know, lol. This is not Colombia and what tactics they do down in that country do not work well here in the USA. And you know if he said to me that they would do a free service to make it up, things would be different but he stuck to his intimidation tactic. I chose Thermoil for an outdoor installation through the Mass Save rebate program and had a great experience. The technicians were professional, always on time, and kept everything extremely neat and clean. Anytime I had a question, they took the time to explain things clearly and made the process easy to understand. They stayed on schedule from start to finish, which made the project smooth and stress-free. My wife works from home, and the team was very respectful and kept noise to a minimum so she could continue working without interruption. Overall, an excellent experience and definitely a five-star company. The office staff was also fantastic and very helpful with the loan process and paperwork. read more

Had recently had a new heat pump installed and received three quoted form vendors. ThermOil's quote was in line with what it should cost. I selected them. They came did the install, removed the old furnace. A1 service and expertise! Angelo and his team are excellent! Highly recommended. read more

I've been working with ThermOil for 4 years now, they did Central heat/AC system install and all plumbing work at 3 properties for me, 1 singe family house and 2 multifamily buildings. Both teams are very knowledgeable and caring for the end result of their work - they take time to figure out complex situations to make sure piping and ductwork are run in the most optimal way to be completely hidden behind the walls yet provide the functionality and coverage needed. The prices are reasonable, and quality of work was complimented by other contractors and home inspectors - they use top notch equipment and take time for a proper setup. The owner of the company stands by their work, and I never had an issue getting someone to fix an issue. Yes, things take a bit longer to be addressed during winter months when they obviously need to prioritize a higher number of emergency issues due to frozen pipes etc, but that's totally expected. And I was definitely happy when the crew showed up for my emergency 2 hours after i made a call! I highly recommend ThermOil and will definitely continue working with them in the future. read more

We were consistently impressed by the character of the employees (honesty, integrity, humanity), their evident skill and commitment to doing a good job, and their capacity for patient and effective problem-solving. I am beyond grateful that we had the opportunity to work with them, and that we have such a reliable partner for annual maintenance, etc. going forward. Great Service. They installed our heat pump heating/cooling and an energy efficient water heater. They are professional and understood our old oil burner and our home needs. They helped us identify the right units that meet our needs. They brought the new unit, retired the old unit and installed the new. They also helped us with the process of filing our rebate. Our sink flooded while we were on vacation and ThermOil sent someone out as soon as we realized we had a leak! Highly recommend! Very quick response time and great work. Can't even tell we had parts of our ceiling missing after they were done with their repairs! read more

Bought home, furnace emitting black smoke, outside and in. Called Thermoil, they had an excellent technician come out to fix it within a couple of hours. Technician worked thoroughly non-stop for 3+ hours cleaning, repairing, and tuning the furnace into tip-top shape. Furnace has been working great since. Will call them again. Called a couple other recommended-by-friends oil people/companies beforehand but availability was not as good, and prices quoted were comparable if not more, given the amount of work needed. read more

Rating of one may be too good for them. It is now 3 weeks after two phone calls and a personal visit that nobody called me back to even make an appointment. The woman answering the phone, unable to communicate promises call backs for appointments etc. etc., does a great job in pushing the customers away. I don't know how they can stay in business. I wanted to remove my previous review of Thermoil due to a recent experience when I was forced to call upon them for assistance . There is a fairly new oil burner in the basement of my apartment which was installed by Thermoil my landlady has a contract with them and therefore they do the service and maintenance on the oil burner. Last weekend I found myself without heat in the middle of the night , I was pretty sure I had not run out of oil , It was warm enough that heat wasn't an issue but I wasn't too happy about the possibility Of taking a freezing cold shower In a chilly apartment ..I had to be in work fairly early and didn't have time to check out the situation with the heat until I got home in the afternoon ....When I checked the gauge on my oil tank I found that I had over a half tank of oil ...I was glad about that but now what's going on ? I called my landlady who is very elderly and wasn't able to get an answer from her phone which was off the hook for 24 hours . When I finally reached her 24 hours later the landlady's son promised to call Thermoil in the morning leaving me for 3 full days without heat and hot water !! I was forced to stay home from work to take care of everything and make sure I got my heat back ...I called Thermoil around noon on Monday only to find my landlady never called !!! I was frantic at that point I contacted Thermoil myself and the secretary Adrina who was very helpful assisted me in trying to reach my landlady. My landlady's son came over during the day and tried to restart the furnace which eventually went off again Thermoil was diligent about making contact with my landlord , They were at my apartment first thing the next morning Performed all necessary maintenance on the oil burner to get it up and running again and even called me to make sure everything was running properly ! That's excellent customer service even more so since we had a bad experience in the past ....I feel Adrina and the staff at Thermoil went out of their way to make things right and for that I am very grateful Thanks Thermoil read more

I don't normally give 5 stars. All I can say is, they came to my house at 1 am on a Sunday morning to fix a broken boiler part that caused a small flood in my basement. My Tankless hot water boiler broke and water poured out. The water damaged some of the boiler's components before I was able to shut off the water valve. Of course this happened on a Sat at 10:30 pm. when it was 20 something degrees. Thermoil came around 1 am as they were having a busy night. Marvin had to get a replacement part and drive back to a closed office to get it and come back. He fixed it. Due to the water damage on other parts that wasn't apparent at the time, Marvin came back again next day to replace another part. The owner Angelo and his office (Adriana), followed up to make sure I was doing ok and that everything was was working. Service and support was amazing. read more

First, I've read all these reviews and I think there is a national oil delivery company called Thermoil which gets atrocious reviews and a local heating and plumbing company Thermoil based in Watertown which gets fabulous reviews. Luckily my experience was with the latter. After my regular service company came out late yesterday and told me I needed a new furnace at an outrageous price, I called around this morning for quotes and spoke to Angelo, the owner of Thermoil. After hearing that I had no heat, he came out this afternoon even though he was incredibly busy. He took one look at the furnace and said you don't need a new furnace and he fixed it in fifteen minutes. It just needed the water valve to be adjusted. I cannot recommend him highly enough for his willingness to fit me in, his expert and his honesty. read more

This is an absolutely horrible company- if you have any choice go with someone else. Customer service is terrible- rude, unfriendly, and they couldn't care less. We also had issues with the actual service. They filled up the wrong tank leaving us without oil on a cold day. In addition, when the oil is cheaper than capped value, they do not fill up as much as they do when the oil is more expensive. Who does that?!?! What a scam. read more

Our heat stopped working at home and we called all around for anyone in the area who might be able to send someone out on a Saturday afternoon and most places were irritated, rude, and unavailable... but not Thermoil! As soon as I called, Andreana was ready to help me even talking me through the necessary steps to getting my furnace working again, all over the phone. He was so nice, patient, easy to talk to, and very helpful, even though I am quite unfamiliar with heating systems. He made our weekend and we'll be sleeping warm tonight! I will definitely be bringing my business back to the Watertown Thermoil whenever I need equipment or maintenance in the future. read more

I spoke with the representative from Thermoil this evening, and it sounds like they are trying to make sure they are more customer-service oriented. I have had better service from them this year. I hope that continues, and it seems like they are motivated to keep their customers happy. read more

This is for the AC/HVAC company: One word: UNPROFESSIONAL!!! especially the lady representing the company on the phone. Straggling to get any information regarding their charge per hour and setting an appointment for which they never showed up! Too bad they were recommended by a trustworthy friend. read more

They've done a great job on my home AC installation last year. They're always on time and finished the job as promised. Whenever you need a great service just call Adriana, and she will do her best every time. It is a great local company in Watertown, MA and I'm happy with their service. I also buy heating oil for my home from them. read more

After the huge snowstorm yesterday, I went down to the basement to check the heating oil level (probably should have done that BEFORE the snowstorm). Much to my dismay, it was below Empty. I called around and Thermoil was able to deliver oil the very same day. I was very grateful, especially since temperatures are supposed to hit -7 tonight. The delivery man was also very nice, even though it was 7pm and temperatures were around 12 degrees F. They have earned me as a customer. read more

Atrocious customer service. All I wanted was for a heat tech to come by and take a look at the banging pipes in my house, but the woman answering the phone was so rude, dismissive, and generally unhelpful that I didn't think it was worth the aggravation. read more

We had a technician arrive late for an appointment and instead of coming inside, he parked in front of our house, and took a nap in his van. Other appointments were just missed for no apparent reason. read more

They are the best In the area! We have used them at various apartments over the years and just called for oil in our new house...We called today and they were here at 8:30pm! They have excellent customer service and professionalism...it was very much appreciated. Again, we have used a lot of companies for oil in the area, but Thermoil is the best. read more

Thank you, thank you, thank you Thermoil! These guys came out to our Store in Burlington on short notice when our heating system kept turning off overnight and refusing to turn back on during last week's freezing temperatures. We would not have been able to open the store without heat. Thermoil got us back up and the heating system is now running better than ever! Thank you for a job well done - 10 stars!!! read more

The customer service at Thermoil is TERRIBLE to say the least. If you ever call and talk to Audrina she is not friendly or sincere at all. I recommend not choosing this company strictly because of their customer service. read more

I can't comment on Thermoil's oil business, but I had a very good experience with their service technicians. We have gas heat and the furnace stopped working last night (a Sunday). With a 5 month old baby we really couldn't go without heat on a very cold night. I called a bunch of places, and Thermoil picked up right away and I received a return call from the Emergency Service Dept within an hour. They came shortly thereafter and fixed our furnace on the spot. Of course, I haven't received a bill yet, but it was one of those times where you are willing to pay whatever it costs. I called Thermoil for a few days before December 31st for an oil delivery but I was undecided. I called back last minute on the 31st, they were very busy but very friendly and I was told I would have heat by Friday the 2nd of January. I saw my heat was on the 31st so I called and the woman who always answers the phone told me they already made the delivery. I was thrilled, the service was great and I'd recommend them to all of my friends for oil. read more

We have used Thermoil for heating, cooling and plumbing services as we have moved around the area from Watertown to Belmont. Quality of work is excellent. Prices are competitive and often beat other competitors. They respond to emergencies in a short order. For non-emergencies, you need to be patient as it is the case with most building service companies. Excellent service all around. read more

They will cheat you out of your money. We ordered the minimum 100 gallons for our 275 gallon tank, and they came to deliver this morning. I had my suspicions after our last batch emptied out much faster than anticipated, so I went and checked out oil level after they left. 1/4th of the gallon was full. I don't know where they learned math but 100 is definitely not 1/4 of 275. When I confronted another guy who came later to prime our tank about this he denied that they did anything wrong. He had the nerve to say "Well your tank was empty and now you have oil, what's the problem?" Then I had a little math lesson with him and explained how 100 is 1/4 of 400, not 275.and then he shoves it off saying "Oh derrr I don't know, you should call the main office about it" I'm pretty sure they've been doing this for all the other times we ordered. Don't get oil from them if you don't want to be cheated. read more
