In general, I have found this to be a great service with maintenance and responsiveness. However, they really stepped up when I needed them most. We got back into town on New Year's Eve to find that our furnace had failed. Chris offered to come that very night to look at the furnace and assess parts even though it was New Year's Eve. They offered me several options without any hard sell. Once we had decided his crew was there on January 2 and the entire replacement was done by January 3 in the evening. They were quick to respond and complete the project, and very we are happy with the new system. read more

It's been over 5 years since my last review. Target is still my choice and I am thrilled to continue to work with them. I trust them and they have done me good with repairs to my boiler and maintaining my two a/c systems for the house. I had someone (Chris) from Target come to my home months ago to look at my heating system. I was expecting a quote to replace my heating system after the visit.... Since then, I have received nothing, zippo not even a return call after calling and sending several text messages. I can understand if business is good but not to have the decency to return a call or text is just not right. read more

I was never going to write review this but Target Air Systems has forced my hand. This company is dishonest, sneaky and just plain rotten! Back in January 2019, I had a heating issue. My plumber recommended them. They sent a young man about 23-34 yrs old to my house to make an assessment of what was wrong. Target Air never ever said that there was a charge for the assessment. The young man was in my home for about 5 minutes, looked at my heating system, and I said I was sure the electrical vent was not working. He concurred. I asked what it would cost to fix. He gave me a ballpark. I said thank you but I will get other estimates. Then he said OK and that I owed him $125 for coming over. I was shocked and let him know it. He relented and said I probably should not pay it. Most people do not. So he left and Target Air called me several times demanding payment and I gave them a piece of my mind: that they never told me there was a charge and certainly not $125. Needless to say, I found another heating guy for much less; an independent guy. Back to Target Air, they still have debt collectors calling me after 2 years. These are GREEDY ROTTEN people. BUYER BEWARE!!! They are dishonest, sneaky and ruthless - still trying to rip me off. WOW!!!! BAD, BAD PEOPLE HERE! Do yourself a favor, AVOID TARGET AIR SYSTEMS. Great local company that knows their stuff and delivers high quality service. We have a neighborhood group text of nearly 20 families on our street and when another neighbor asked about HVAC companies and the need to replace a central air system nearly a dozen families recommended Brooks and Brooks. That family was very pleased with their new AC install from Brooks and Brooks and recommended them to our family. After getting a very competitive quote from them for some future heating and central AC needs we are moving forward with them. I called for my AC coil leaking problem. Technician came in and did almost nothing but connect a meter into outside compressor and claims AC unit is malfunction. Then, he advices to replace whole system. This is very not professional as he didn't even open the AC coil and find out why it's leaking. End up I get charges for $225 for nothing done!! I got another company in and find out the leaking source. I really doubt this lousy company can do job. read more

We bought a home in JP with an older HVAC system (inspector said it might need to be replaced within the year). After we bought the home, our realtor recommended we contact Target Air Systems to have it checked out. What a great recommendation! We've worked with two of their technicians over the last year (one came to check out the AC in the summer, and Joe just came to service the furnace). They were both so nice, and have done everything than can to help us keep our heating and cooling system running in the most cost-effective way possible. Our furnace stopped working during a cold spell and we needed quick service. We called a large operation (not Target) and they provided good service. But they determined we needed a new furnace and provided a few quotes (good, better, best). We decided to ask Target for an estimate as well. Target's service was excellent. Even though they are a smaller shop and were slammed, they kept in touch and got us an estimate the next day. Their estimate was much better than the larger shop and much more in line with the market. They worked us into their schedule on Christmas Eve to install a new furnace and did a great job. Great service before the work. Great work. Left our basement cleaner than they found it. I'll call them first next time. read more

Thank you, thank you , thank you to Warren and Target Air Systems. I just arrived home after a week away of 90 degree heat to find that no power was getting to the HVAC system. I was a complete unknown, but Warren returned the night time call within 20 minutes. After the usual questions about circuit breakers etc, Warren asked the age of the house and suggested that some of the old Victorians have an odd bright red switch in the kitchen that might be connected to the furnace. Success! Turns out some other workers here while I was away had flipped that switch to the off position. I so appreciate that Warren was willing to take the time to to trouble shoot at 8:30 pm. If/when I need HVAC work, it will be "Call Warren." read more

My central AC stopped working and I called Target Air Systems They came the next day and found that a fuse had been blown in the air handler (they charge me $245.00 to replace it) The workman then asked if he could use my bathroom (Slightly unprofessional and smelly) My AC had the same issue two days latter, they said on the phone that I will need to rewire the entire system and they will send a repairman over (going to cost around $1,000 to rewire) The repair comes over, and has the good moral sense to say the issue is due to his boss, the previous repairman leaving wires crossed in the air handler. His boss yells at him on the phone and tells him to rewire the systems (ie $1000 to me) I say no, and they charge me $115 to fix his bosses mistake. I have not had an issue with the ac since that visit (I am not made out of money and feel that this company is not honest) read more

We are so grateful to have found Target Air Systems when we moved to the area a few years ago. When we moved into our house our HVAC unit died on one of the coldest days of the year. Chris and Joe were there within an hour, made excellent recommendations on a replacement unit, and offered to provide space heaters to keep the house warm while we waited for the new unit to come in. The installation ended up being a little more complicated then we had anticipated due to the previous exhaust pipes being the wrong size and not up to code. They were very upfront about what they had to do to make everything right. We have had them replace our HVAC system, install a ductless heating & A/C system, and maintain those units as well as the AC throughout the year. Chris, Joe, Melissa, and the rest of the Target team are fantastic to work with, very responsive, knowledgeable, trustworthy and honest professionals. They go above and beyond to help their customers, we can't recommend them highly enough. read more

Well, I just had a new heat pump installed by this place. The price was right. (Another person quoted me a 2 K more) and the heat works so that is pretty basic thing I needed. The sales guy that came out was kind of arrogant but I had confidence in him. My quote came 2 days later, some HVAC dealers had taken months to get the quote to me. When the system came the "boys", as he referred to them, came out to do the install. They were pretty young and they had me worried, but again, my heat is working. I wasn't happy with the system when I first got it. It seemed to run cold and was blowing a lot. They came out and checked it out for free and I now sure it is just the way the systems are now and not an issue with the system. 4 stars because the size of the heat pump blocks my neighbors window about 8 inches. She was not happy. I do think they owed me a duty to watch out for that when they came out to give me the quote. It didn't occur to me as I was getting the smallest system they made. *** update 1 year later *** no problems at all with the ac or the heat. Glad I went with them. read more

These guys know how to install air conditioning! Our old York central air compressor died after over 23 years of loyal service. Something inside the compressor just shorted out and when I tried to reset them and turn on the AC, the breakers shut off immediately. The compressor alone could not be replaced due to the type of refrigerant it used, so we knew the whole system had to go. Since Target Air Systems is relatively near our house, I gave them a call. They sent back an estimate for a new system the same day. I compared it to a separate estimate I had gotten and Target Air Systems looked good. We scheduled a date for the installation and the three guys showed up right on time. Not only were the three of them very polite, but they were diligent, knowledgeable, efficient and thorough. We felt totally comfortable with them doing the work and we think they did a great job. They knew how to do each task and they knew (and could explain) the science behind all of it. Good guys to have on the team! We love the new AC, a 5-ton Amana. It cools quickly and is surprisingly silent. I highly recommend Target Air Systems. read more

The bigger companies (the ones that always have the iPads) gave us some ballpark numbers (not an official quote, just ballpark when technicians were here servicing the old system) I knew the price would be outrageous. Thankfully a realtor friend recommended Target. The price was very fair ( probably half of what it would have been with one of the bigger companies). Our heating system gave out right before Thanksgiving. We were expecting company over the long weekend and it was freezing. Despite a long workday Warren came over on Tue night to take a look and sent his men early the next morning to fix the system. He was able to source the necessary materials and get it working by Wed afternoon! We truly appreciate the effort that he and his men put in to get our heating system fixed in record time. We have used Target since moving in 19 years ago. The home inspector gave us less than a year on the AC-we got 7 w/Warren's help. The newer condenser started failing right after the warranty expired, but TAS has worked hard to fix it and keep it going. While we were away a service tech came out and was concerned he could not get the part for such an old unit, but Warren knew exactly what was needed and where to get it. Once company quoted $20,000 to replace the unit and all the duct-work, but we have been given a much better quote with retrofitting of existing duct work from TAS. I would not recommend this company. I paid cash for a service that the tech pocketed. The company called me and sent an invoice a month later. I told them I paid cash for the service. They told me that have no control over what happens in the field. Really? They don't have a system of checks and balances in place? Chris the tech is a thief, plan and simple. Exceptionally fast and fixed our problem. We called Warren on the eve of a heat wave when our Central AC stopped working. They called us back within 20 minutes and came out the next morning, which we requested. Turns out a large family of mice was living in our outdoor unit, and had chewed through a wire. Target Air Systems (TAS) installed our A/C unit, which generally works well. Unfortunately, when it doesn't, TAS provides inconsistent and mediocre service at best. I have sacrificed multiple days' work (and therefore multiple days' pay) awaiting service technicians who were HOURS late, did not come prepared to complete the job, or no-showed altogether! Each time I was promised better service in the future and issued an apology, but TAS did not deliver on their promise. I do not recommend this business. read more

These people are crooks. They put in a boiler for heat and hot water less than two years ago. The thing broke down on Saturday. I called them and the guy said he would come by monday morning at 9 to fix it. I waited for an hour - no show. I called. Then the guy said he left a message over the weekend to tell me he couldn't come. meanwhile, we have had no heat and no hot water. and two cold and dirty children. the guy didn't apologize or show any remorse - he just said he couldn't come. this is irresponsible and bordering on criminally negligent. I would urge everyone not to use this company for anything. read more

Folks - BUYER BEWARE! These folks are not honest. I found my heating not working at 7:30am on Friday. Called them at 8:30am on a recommendation and I told them I needed the heat fixed today since temp in low 20's and supposed to go away this weekend. Chris at Target Air told me sure - he would get his guys out there and fix it. His guy came at 1:45, I told him the exhaust vent failed and he confirmed I was right. Then he called his boss (assuming Chris) . After that call, he says he cannot fix my heat until Monday. Cost will be $2200 and requires 2 men to do. And he has to charge me $149 for coming to my house for 15 minutes to tell me this. FYI - the vent unit that needs to be replaced costs $300 (found it online at plumbing outlet). So, Target wanted $1900 in labor for a probable 2-4 hour job. I thanked the young man and sent him away. His company is run by a LIAR and a TOTAL CHEAT who is gouging folks. NEVER NEVER CALL TARGET AIR UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET ROBBED. Total Crooks. read more

Have used Warren and Target for several years and just used them again to install mini split system as add on heat and a/c for new addition. Work done as promised. Would recommend to anyone although one thing to keep in mind if you have older system and expect anyone to come in and fix. If you haven't maintained your system do not think that all problems can be dealt with. Also when high 90s no system is going to keep you house "meat locker" cold. Also likely that if your without AC so is everyone else. Do yourself a favor and buy $100 in window and leave in box until needed. read more

Have had Target Air service our furnace over the years, and have always been pleased with the service. Had no heat one morning, and funny sounds coming from the furnace. Of course, by the time the tech could get out to us the heat had come back on and the sound had stopped but he talked me through what I had heard, new what the problem was and fixed it in no time. Haven't had any repeat problems. Fast, reliable, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. Can't say enough good things about them. read more
