Okay, I bought a couch, my family members bought a couch this young lady before we bought the couch she add 100 more dollars and the couch was like 400.00 dollars or something like that than today 10/27/23. I had newly installed wood floors. The delivery staff would not put on shoe covers. It was rainy and wet outside. Also, one of the delivery guys crawled across my bed in his dusty-delivery clothes to assist his partner with the placement of the chest. They are independent contractors and only wear shoe covers on carpeted floors according to them. The room place needs to train these guys better. read more

Ordered a dual recliner sofa with middle entertainment console from the Honewood location!! Supposed to be 3 pieces in total!! They delivered this morning and all 3 pieces were wrong!!! The store claims the pieces were mis-ID'd!!! Such incompetence!!! The middle piece they sent didn't even have the entertainment console!!! I bought a bunk bed, bed pallet and a mattress the mattress still is not here and I have not received a phone call for delivery when it was set up for the 7th. My experience at the store was horrible, was waiting for the sales man "Walter" for over 30mins to check on me. Then he charged me 3 times for delivery but I caught it when I was paying. The manager TJ ran my credit for a separate card that I did not consent to. She lied several times and never apologized nor said what she could do to try and help. The Room place employees have not shown any empathy nor gave a solution as to what they can do. They all need to be trained and TJ needs to be held accountable for her unethical action. She was thirsty for the sale and lied to me for her commission. I purchased about $20000 in furniture from this location (Homewood, IL) about 2 years ago, I was sold protection plan for my living room couches and was told if anything happens, whether a tear or they stop working mechanically they would be repaired or replaced, well that was a lie, I called the warranty company and they told me my coverage states it does not cover tears. I would understand if there was negligence and we damaged the couches purposely, but it is only myself and my wife, no kids, and the only two that sit on the couches. The leather on the couches has several small tears and it is just from normal use. These couches cost about $3000 for the set and I would expect them to last longer than 2 years and not be lied about the warranty. I warn those who shop at The Room Place, find a furniture place that sells better quality product and stands by a warranty they stated would be covered. DO NOT SHOP AT THE ROOM PLACE!!!! I have never been so angry in my life with an investment purchase. March 22nd I purchased a dining room set and a king mattress with box sprang. After the delivery my husband and I put both mattress and box sprang on our king frame. The bed was so high we couldn't get in it .We took the 6 inch box sprang off and tried the bed. We both woke up along with our 3 year old sunken into the bed struggling to get out of the bed. We then went into the Room Place and I detailed explained this issue with a sales rep. He then granted us a different selection. We went with a more firm mattress under the impression that we were sinking because the original mattress was too soft. Upon selection that Tuesday April 16 we were informed that the delivery date would be Friday the 19th. On Thursday we got a call saying the mattress wasn't in stock and we would have it by Tuesday the 23rd. On the 22nd we got a call saying the mattress would be delivered on Friday the 26th. Finally it was delivered. Upon delivery the delivery guy asks us out of curiosity what was the issue with the first bed? I explained to him the same thing I told the sales rep "the only problem is im sinking into the bed every time I lay in it" he then informs my husband and I that we're sinking because we have no box sprang for support and that the mattress is sinking into the slacks. Wow! How is it that the sales rep couldn't inform me of that after I explained to him the removal of the box sprang?! How is it that I was never offered a thinner box sprang! There's a slack board, 2 inch, 4 inch and 6 inch. No one at the store offered any knowledge! I've been dealing with this situation for 4 hours now only for customer service, corporate, and workers inside the room place telling me and I quote "THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO"! This is a 2000 dollar investment! My husband and I aren't seeking a refund at all. All we are seeking is a comfortable mattress to rest on daily after a long day of work. Im extremely unsatisfied with the service today and although I was granted a 10,000 credit line I feel that my business is not appreciated or valued. This is the worst furniture store on the planet. I purchased a living room set and a mattress from this location !!! We've had the mattress 24hours and my back is in so much pain I can barely walk. I've call the manager Joan whose so unprofessional. Are we at work or on the streets she's definitely fit to work at a liquor store !!! I work for a reputable hospital and this level of professionalism is not acceptable. I asked to exchange mattress and the answer is no because I didn't buy a thin mattress cover that only gives you a 30 day warranty !!! So you spend $700 for a 30 day warranty !! SCAM !!! Businesses are successful because of there customers. I have three other rooms that I need to furnish and I will not be shopping here . The Room Place obviously isn't for there customers which is fine when this location closes and you all no longer have jobs how will you provide for your family !
