It's my second Murphy bed from the terrific Rob Myers, owner of the More Space Place in Chantilly, Va. (The first one lasted 21 years of daily use). Even with an injured rotator cuff, I have no problem pulling down and putting up the new bed. The mattress is really comfy (choices are firm or plush). Their installers are top-notch, and creatively solve problems of tricky interiors. They also do all sorts of other custom cabinetry and built-ins, but all I needed was a place to sleep. I've known Rob since 2004 and he is terrific. I've recommended him to a half-dozen friends who are equally pleased with the results. I can't say enough good things about him and his crew.

The store manager, Jenn, who has no business being in retail let alone a manager, was beyond rude and denied the return. When I called the complaint number on the receipt I got Ericka who couldn't have cared less. There are no extenuating circumstances. Mind you, we are talking an EXCHANGE for about $15 on a $100 tab. Plus the thousands I have spent and donated over the decades. NEVER again will Goodwill get one penny from me in sales or donations. Great job. I hope that $15 was worth it to you.

After visiting a few other stores, NONE of them could compare to the selection and great quality of merchandise found at VA Rose. I found the staff to be lovely and the owner went out of her way to help me with design questions and even came to my home to assist me. This past December I was lucky enough to attend their Holiday Customer Appreciation day. The place was packed but I did manage to purchase some great holiday gifts. I would advise everyone to go early to shop but stay to enjoy the party. I can't wait to visit again.

As an observer: My problem is with the owner who has no business protocol and does not know how to talk to customers or handle unhappy customers. I saw this women - the owner - in action. Her behavior was deplorable. She's abrupt, sarcastic and cold. As a customer: I consigned a number of items with this store. The entire transaction was highly unprofessional. My check came two weeks late with no explanation. It was also incorrect with the excuse that "we broke your lamp, couldn't sell it." No call or communications regarding the incident. Gave an outright lie as to when the check was sent out. I have eyes and could clearly see the date was four days later than they had told me on the phone. Oh boy...there's more, much more, but let me wrap this up and give potential customers some solid, truthful advice. Stay away. don't shop or consign here. There are far better places with nicer stuff, better pricing and people who know the meaning of fair business practices. I thought long and hard about taking them to small claims court but what a waste of time. The best thing to do is warn any and all prospective shoppers to simply stay away.
