My husband called in and requested someone provide a quote to fix a leak under our sink. The company took his information and stated that someone would call to schedule an appt. The following day, a technician arrives without confirmation or without a range of the quote. I allowed him to come in and provide an estimate. He identified the issue as a leaking strainer, I asked what the replacement cost (he stated standard rate or premium rate) and I went with the lower price since we didn't need a premium stainer for the sink. I walked out of my office and he showed me the leak was fixed with a new strainer and plenty of plumbing putty. He left the sink with water and suds remaining (no problem as I can remove the plug) when I noticed that the strainer he put in was a used stainer with damage to the rim (which he showed me and joked he wouldn't be using that). He left the box with the new stainer in the house on the shelf. REALLY, WTF!! I got a damaged and used stainer for the cost of $185? Thanks for fixing the leak but this is a scam using a damaged used stainer. I guess you should have just used my current strainer and kept the new one for yourself. Thanks a lot!! read more

I would NOT recommend this company at all. They were referred by AHS. The tech came out to check leak under sink, he took 30 seconds to say the g/disposal was leaking and he would call the warranty company to get it approved. He told them that there was a foreign object in the g/disposal. He never turned the unit on, never checked the inside of the unit. He just wanted them to reject the service so I would be responsible for the replacement cost. This is what gives the business a bad name. They are just rip offs. Terrible plumbing company. I was assigned through my warranty company. I had a 12-4 appointment originally scheduled but got a call at 3:35 and said the plumber was running late and would be there by 5:30. At 9:00 I finally get another call from the plumber saying he can still come. I declined since I had three kids in bed. I got it rescheduled for the following week. It was an 8-12 appointment. I got a call at 7:45 saying plumber would be to my house at 8:30. Shows up at 9:30. When tech got there he "fixed" a couple of my issues (still now working properly) but one item was left outstanding because he didn't have parts on his truck. It was to fix the drain stopper. What plumber doesn't have parts to fix that? He was supposed to call warranty to get approval and go get parts. I waited week for approval and it finally got denied because the tech said it was damaged by "people" so warranty won't cover it. They will not recode it and even told me to get a second opinion (this telling me to go elsewhere). I wouldn't use this company if they were the only ones on earth. Where do I even begin? If your home warranty assigns these jackasses to your plumbing problem, call them and tell them you want your case reassigned. It will save you a lot of frustration and headache. We had a blockage in our pipes that caused the toilets and tubs to overflow. We called our warranty company the night it happened and the next morning we were assigned to them. That's when the issues began. They gave us a four hour time slot of 8-12 12-4. My husband and I both work... No Saturday or evening times so my husband had to leave work. The guy who shows up at our house tells him that he doesn't have any parts on his van to fix the broken seal on the toilet. (I thought you were a plumber. Is your van full of puppies? Why don't you have basic parts?) Furthermore, after doing a 2 minute visual inspection (no I'm not joking. Literally eyes one pipe) he tells my husband that the blockage is on the city's end, not from our house, which means it's not covered. BUT for $224 he can fix it. Plus $75 service call. He didn't snake it, hydrojet it or even pretend to work on it. Just pulled that rabbit out of a hat and left with $75. So we called the city, they came out and snaked the line and ran a high powered water jet and fixed the blockage for FREE. $0. Literally the worst customer experience I have ever experienced. I work in customer service and give a lot of room for error knowing that things happen but this was so bad I felt compelled to leave a review. My upstairs AC Unit is not working correctly so we had someone scheduled to come out by 12pm. When they called to make the appointment I told them I wouldn't be home before 9am, no big deal, they said they'll be here between 9am and 12pm. This was scheduled 2 weeks in advance. I call at 11:50 because no one has called to tell me that they are (or aren't) coming. The lady on the phone tells me that they got caught up in another job that took too long so they can't make it to me until 2pm. So they knew they would be late and didn't tell me! I respond, obviously upset, that I took the morning off work to be here during the allotted time and I'm leaving by 12:45 so I need someone here to get this fixed. She tells me I'm being upset for no reason! NO REASON?!?! I TOOK TIME OFF FOR YOU TO NOT SHOW AND NOT CALL!! I then get a very condescending manager on the phone that tells me my appointment was from 10-2pm. If it was, that is not what I was told when speaking to them and what was confirmed (I have proof of time). She tells me they don't do appointments from 9-noon only 8:9:30 or 10-2. I asked why only 8-9:30 and she replied that it was for the people that can't do a 4 hour window which they offer from 8-noon, 10-2, etc. So I said so you do offer appointments that go to noon?! Her slip up! She responds, ma'am have you been listening to me, I've told you 5 times that we don't do 9-noon. SERIOUSLY. My appointment was 8-noon but I couldn't be there until 9 so they confirmed 9-noon. Don't act like I'm making this up by telling me you don't do that appointment time when you do and you just got busted trying to cover your ass! She then tells me to find another company because I'm not worth the hassle. Don't know what kind of crap customer service training you all went to where it's okay to tell clients they aren't worth the hassle. But i'm sure it's because you screwed up and got called out on it. My ac for my home went out and my warranty company contracted this business so I called to find out what the time frame was and the lady told me its an 8am to 5pm timeframe and everybody has that now because of that I missed that appointment due to my wife going to get the kids from school so I called back and told her my situation that she is gonna get the kids each day if she can narrow it down a bit and she said same time frame tomorrow and it will cancel if I missed again. My Home warranty company referred Third Generation Plumbing to fix a couple of faucet leaks and a toilet that was not flushing all the way. The plumber who showed was either incompetent or a good con man. I needed 3 things fixed. First a faucet leak in the master bedroom, second fix the toilet so it flushed better, and finally a leak in the hot water faucet in the bathroom tub. So, for the leak in the master bedroom, he said he would have to take apart the counter because he could reach under the sink. Since it's a master bathroom, there are two sinks and I showed him that the other sink's faucet was replaced without taking apart the counter. He said that was the only way to fix it, so I told him that I didn't want the counter taken apart so let's try to fix the other things (the toilet and the other faucet). Then he went to the other bathroom where the leak was in the faucet in the tub. I want you to keep in mind that it was leaking water dripping when the faucet was shut, not a lot, but enough to get it repaired. He shut off the water in the house and took apart the faucet. I didn't like the way he took it apart. His work was sloppy and he was shoving his tools around. I assumed that he put it back together and It would just have the same slow leak. He said that he would have to give me a quote to get it fixed. I said ok, expecting that he would put it back together and that it would still have the same slight leak. Then he started on the bathroom toilet, he replaced a few things, but I still have the same problem as I did before he came. I still need to flush it a few times to get it to completely get everything out. Then he went to his truck to put together a repair estimate. At that point, I remembered that the water needed to be turned on to make sure everything was like it was before he came since he fixed nothing. When I turned on the hot water, the faucet that was leaking was now gushing out water and could not be turned off. I called him back in the house and he took it apart again, but then said he could not fix it. I told him, I just wanted it back to the way it was before he showed up (a slight leak), and he said that was not possible and the repair would cost $725. This is not right. It one thing not to be able to repair something, it's another thing to completely sabotage something to now have to get a large repair done. What this plumber did was wrong and his company is liable to return to at least where it was before this repairman wreaked it. The best part is when I spoke to John today, all he kept telling me is that it would cost me $725 to fix it. Over and over again. Like he enjoyed it, then he hung up. After receiving a written diagnostic from Third generation plumbing, for my hot water heater. Third generation plumbing recommended replacement. My home warranty agreed to pay partial. I complained Third generation plumbing wanted me to pay $850. dollars. $250 dollars to pull a permit that cost $81.00, $60.00 for a drip pan( not required in Hillsbrough county). $95.00 for a valve, $250 for pipe modifications. Oh and 195.00 to remove old. After I complained to a very rude office lady. Third generation plumbing told American home shield my water heater was caused by NOT normal wear and tear. We have been dealing with them through American Homeshield and they misdiagnosed a as a foundation leak, then had to call out a 3rd party locator who found it to be a simple hot water heater leak. They would not submit proper diagnosis to American Homeshield which resulted in 4 weeks of a run around and leak damage to my rental property. My hot water heater is still not fixed, we are having to call another plumber to start the process again and American Homeshield indicated to us that they are going to lose their contract as a vendor for them. I had a water heater replaced by Third Generation Plumbing, A/C & Mechanical Company, Inc. on September 26, 2019. When they did the job, the broke one tile on my kitchen floor, and 3 pavers on my front door step. Upon calling them to fix the problem, their response was that I signed a waiver on the date of installation. Come to find out the tiny little letters on the receipt I signed supposedly gives them permission to break anything and not be liable. Starting at the attendant on the phone, who is rude and unprofessional, hung up on me, screened my calls and put me on hold 5 times not to take my message, to the crew that installed the heater and broke things and did not even let me know, to the manager who schedules to be on my house to see the damage one day, I wait for him from 10am to 2pm, he never shows up and never calls to reschedule, this company should not be in business. I believe the only reason this company gets business is because they get jobs dispatahced from American Home Shield. They responded to a maintenace request to rental porperty I manage. They did not address the issues reported and left the issues unresolved. They snaked a toilet that was not backed up. They adjusted the hot water temperature and there was no issue reported in reference to the water temperature. I found it offensive when Omar questioned the tenants honesty about the situation and refused to acknowledge the techs did not address the issues reported. They suggested to call in another work order to the home warranty company, for the issues they were just sent to address. Had a leaky hot water heater and American Home Shield sent out third generation after 3 days they came out and said it was leaking and got approval for a new one on the spot. It took 2 days for them to come back and install it. A week later we noticed a problem with the install and called the warranty Co. Third Generation came out and saw the problem and had someone out the next day to do the repair. I place a maintenance order with my landlord for a non working disposal. My husband, unaware of this fixed the problem prior to leaving work the morning of the plumber showing up. So when he arrived my disposal came on and he took a photo of the item my husband had already unlodged. I ended up getting a bill for 151.00 for something this guy didnt even do. He did nothing to warrant anything other than a service fee for showing up. I reached out to the company and was told "it is what it is". They will likely break as much as they fix and stick you with the bill to fix what they broke. I used them for 3 jobs. Here's what they broke... Job 1 - they cut through a supply pipe with a sawzall and water was gushung into the house. Luckily they shut off all the water and repaired the pipe. They also repaired a drain pipe and spilled oil or something that stained my tile grout. I was left with about $100 bill to clean the grout Job 2 - the plumber cut through a live electrical wire and nearly electrocuted himself. I had to pay an electrician $100 to fix the wire. Job 3 - they broke a valve on the main shutoff and told me it would be $500 to repair. I guess their idea of drumming up additional business includes breaking stuff while on the job and charging the customer to fix it. I would highly recommend avoiding this company unless you're prepared to pay for what they break. read more

I had my water heater replaced by 3GP through my Home Warranty Company in August 2019, on December 28 while away from home the hot water side pipe blew off, was never glued. The Warranty Company doesn't staff on Weekends and is already been without water going on day 2. I called a plumber to repair. The HWC called on Monday to inform us what we needed to do and gave us the name of the installation company. I called the business office 2 times and left messages, no return call. The third time I called today I reached someone who was rude and was not willing to talk with me at all, kept saying I needed to contact the warranty company! I informed her that I had and she looked for a ticket which she didn't find one. Said the only way they would help me is if I opened a ticket (I'm sure so they could charge me more money!) I told her I had pictures and the part which clearly showed the pipe was not glued to the fitting of the hot side supply. She said allegedly! They DO NOT stand behind their Wirk and refuse to help you in an event of faulty craftsmanship! The installation crew also informed me that I need an expansion talk installed and a drain pan ( $35 and $7.00 respectively at THD) said it was code and the needed to install. Charged me $150 for the expansion tank and $35 for the plastic drain pan. Come to find out that no permit was pulled, no inspections done so those 2 items weren't required! UPSALE! We called this company 2 times to come out to fix our ac unit. First time they told us our thermostat was 10 degrees off and to set it 10 degrees below what we usually would have had it. I then receive a $750 electric bill. We immediately call them to come back out, they told us we needed to change our filters. Guess what? We got another $750 electric bill. Seriously? This company is corrupt! I have two units and one was not cooling completely which happens every year. When he came out and put Freon to get that one working again immediately after he left the other unit (that is only two years old) was completely broken and leaking all over my garage!!! I saw him messing with both of them. Of course I had to call him to come out to fix the unit he broke and after he fixed that one and left the other unit that was working perfectly fine was now leaking water all over my garage and was also broken. Keep in mind I only needed service but now have two broken units. This technician diagnosed me with mold however I just put an LED light in my system four months ago so I would never have a mold problem. What a clown. Fortunately I called another company who came out who said that there was NO MOLD. Of course third generation plumbing wanted to stick me with a large bill that my insurance company would not pay for when that wasn't even the problem. This plumber company was referred by our home warranty to repair a minor leak on the shower head. The technician arrived and for whatever reason instead of working on the shower head he started to take the knobs attached to the wall. Later on, the tech said that I need to repair a cartridge but he doesn't know what type and I need to go online a find out which one. To make it short, he mentioned that if I can't find it they will have to take out the wall and install a bunch of new equipment for $800. He put the knobs back together but he did it wrong and now I don't have control of the hot water and water pressure. The plumber cleared the stoppage but broke the drain, which then caused mold and replacement of drywall and the living room floor. On top of two $100 service call fees, they overcharged us $250 for "access fee" to the drain pipe after we removed the paneling ourselves, or they wouldn't finish the job. They fixed the broken drain pipe with a cheap part and left the wall open. They haven't fixed another shower faucet problem they got paid for, we have been waiting for three weeks for a "part". Plumber came was not able to get into the craw space through the opening. Called to determine when they were sending another plumber and found out from my warranty company that the company LIED about what happened. The company said the space was to small, the damage was caused by another company, and another access point needed to be made to get to the pipe. This company should not be doing business when they provide false information to the warranty company stating I made these comments. We have an appliance service plan with AHS. Our kitchen faucet is leaking, so we submitted a service request and AHS sent out 3rd Generation Plumbing. I was charged $100 for the service visit, per our contract with AHS. When their technician arrived, he tightened some connections under the sink, even though I told him the leak was coming from the portion of the faucet above the counter surface. He said he didn't see water coming out. I explained that it is a slow leak (about a spoonful per hour) and he would see the water start to puddle in about 5-10 minutes. Apparently, he didn't have time to wait, and he left. Within five minutes the leaking water appeared again, so I called the dispatcher and requested that he return before he got too far away. He returned a few minutes later and was clearly angry about having been called back. I tried to show him where the water was pooling. But he talked over me saying that there was "No mechanical failure" with the faucet and AHS would not cover any more work on it. Again, I tried to show him the pooling water, ands again he spoke over me without listening and said they would replace the faucet for $525.00. I asked him whether or not he could see the pooling water. He did not answer, he only asked if I wanted him to replace the faucet for $525. When I said I wanted it to be fixed or replaced at no additional cost (per the AHS contract) he got in his truck and left. I called AHS to report this and they said that since the technician had reported "No mechanical failure" and closed the Service Request #, they would not refund my $100, even though the problem I had sent in the request for was not fixed. read more

Brand new AC system from 3rd Generation WORSE than 20-year old leaky system. I have tried repeatedly to get a resolution from 3rd Generation regarding the defective new AC system they installed for me in September 2018. Immediately after installation it was on ALMOST CONTINUALLY and could NOT cool below mid 70s. This was when the temperature outside was 91. My leaky 20-year old system could already do that. They sent technicians out 3 times to check and take measurements but have not resolved the problem. They have finally quit returning my calls. We had a 20+ year old 3 ton system that was rusting and leaking. 3rd Generation wanted us to buy a new 3 ton AC system which we were told would be perfectly adequate for our home (just under 1700 sf). I asked about a 4 ton unit so there would be a little extra, and they said they would have to change ducting for this, but a 3.5 ton system would work great. They replaced the condenser, fan, pad, evaporator, plenum, lines, etc. for which I spent about $4K. This cost was after SOME supposed discount/money from a home warranty company but I never received any information about what that may have been. Another company, Performance Air, came out 10/25/2018 to do a tune-up because I had already had a maintenance contract with them (and 3rd Generation will not even get back in touch with me). The tech indicated that the ducts are far too small for the system. Not only do they indicate the brand new system will fail very soon since it is overworked, but there is MOLD in the ducts because of this inadequate ducting. All I want is an AC system that cools properly. read more

Not surprising to see others had similar experiences with this company, at least they're consistent, I guess. Had an appointment through my home warranty to fix a leaky faucet, they came out and told me that they couldn't simply change the part and would instead need to go into the wall to fix it. He estimated it would cost me 550$ out of pocket, with or without coverage from my home warranty. Thankfully I did not agree to this and decided to get a second opinion from a friend who then repaired it for 63$ in a matter of minutes. I don't know if the repairman was inept or if like another reviewer suggested, was just looking to come out to collect a service fee and not have to do any actual work. Unprofessional, tracked feces throughout my entire home, charged an extra $250 to snake my drain only to tell me it's too far out for their device and I need a second plumber to run a camera down there. When putting my toilet back on, they messed it up somehow and the next day dirty water flooded my bathroom. Reached out and was told a supervisor would be in contact with me as soon as available. Terrible! Lazy plumber who did nothing but flush the toilet. I'd never use them again.
