Great place to stop for dinner before an event at Music Factory. It's pretty dark inside so it definitely gives a good pub vibe. A little pricey but everything we had was good. Thought the portion size on appetizer could be a bit better though.

Kudos to Sequoia and Marvin that gave us awesome service at the bar. The martinis were perfect. The atmosphere was very festive and the food was hot and tasty

In this uncertain economy, we're always on the hunt for good deals...especially happy hour deals. We've even got a running list and are slowly making our way through it. This spot has a steady flow of after-work gatherings, so be aware of that. Definitely avoid coming on concert nights (we didn't, thankfully), since the location gets even more hectic. Parking is a bit of a pain even on a normal evening, but they do say they validate, so there's that. We were seated right away, which was a win. I ordered the raspberry lemon martini from the happy hour menu, and it was refreshing, maybe just a little sweet. The three of us split three happy hour appetizers: the spicy Asian cauliflower (which had peanuts and was surprisingly delicious), the queso, and the chicken sliders. My only gripe about the sliders was that the pickles were weirdly warm, and based on the menu photo, I expected three sliders but only got two. Not a huge deal, just slightly disappointing. Overall, it's a pretty solid place to grab a discounted happy hour fix. Bathrooms are nice and clean - and they even have a "family bathroom" if you brought kids and need the privacy.

Thirsty Lion at Irving-Las Colinas's Toyota Music Factory is a great pub to visit and grab a drink and watch soccer games. It's in a great location, has good service, but it's menu is a big miss. This is my long overdue update. My Overall Rating - 2 Stars (Atmosphere, Service) Atmosphere - Thirsty Lion is in a big open space, with plenty of mixed seating of bar height tables, booths, and communal tables. It's also a gathering spot for soccer fans, or if you want to grab a drink before a show. One of the original anchor restaurants at the Toyota Music Factory, it's great to see them here. 1 Star. Service - Our server was very nice and attentive. I wish she would have provided more guidance on the menu, but otherwise no red flags at all. 1 Star. Food - We started with their Fried Chicken Sliders. These were excellent. The nicely breaded and freshly fried chicken was hot and juicy and perfectly complimented by the roll. This was the highlight of my meal. Thirsty Lion has a seasonal menu, and we ordered the Wagyu Burger and Pork Ramen. Big mistake. The burger wasn't served on a bun, it was served on ciabatta and arugula. Sorry - this is not a burger. It's a sandwich with a burger patty on a salad. The ramen was worse. It wasn't ramen. They took the linguine from their winter menu and put it in broth. It was disgusting. I didn't eat a thing. I didn't complain - that's on me - but my server didn't really know the menu and I didn't want to make a scene. So I'll save fellow Yelpers - don't bother ordering from the seasonal menu. No Stars. Will I Return? - No. There are too many options at The Toyota Music Factory, and I'm not a big enough soccer fan to join the EPL crowd. I'm going to have PTSD from the ramen. No thanks. No Stars.

We visited this restaurant before a comedy show at the Toyota Music Factory, and the food was incredible! We tried the salmon with cilantro rice and the fish and chips, and both dishes were fantastic--highly recommend! Our only issue was with the reservation process. The first time we called, we were hung up on, and the second time, the hostess didn't record our names. When we arrived, it took a few minutes to get our table sorted. On top of that, there was a 15-minute wait for our cocktails due to how busy it was--they could definitely use an extra bartender or two. These minor hiccups are the only reasons for the 4-star rating.

My coworker and I went one night while in Dallas to the Thirsty Lion Gastropub. I researched places to go to and this place had a lot of great reviews! This place rocked! I am go glad we came! No wait time, even though it was busy. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful! I absolutely loved the ambience... gastropub meets sports bar... laid back place meets refined. My coworker had a beer, while I decided to try the Lion Lemonade. The Lion Lemonade was refreshing! It is made of Smirnoff Citrus Vodka, raspberry liquor, lemon, sprite, sweet & soup and simple syrup. We ordered some apps to share including delectable scotch eggs and absolutely amazing bacon wrapped shrimp! The appetizers aren't just delicious... they are hearty! We were pretty full after eating them. Still we had already ordered the main courses, so we decided to stuff ourselves. He enjoyed his gastropub burger, i had the Gochuchang Korean BBQ Pork & Kimchi Fried Rice. We both throughly enjoyed them, eating until we felt we would burst! We walked out of Thirsty Lion having felt we ate like kings!

Absolutely loved this place! The vibes were on point the moment we walked in--warm, welcoming, and just an all-around great atmosphere. The service? Top-notch. Super friendly staff who were quick, attentive, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Now the food... chef's kiss. Everything we ordered was delicious and came out fast and fresh. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. If you're looking for a spot with great energy, excellent service, and amazing food, this is it. Can't wait to come back!

My husband and I came here to meet a friend while in Texas. He chose this place as it is in a nice area, nice bar and plenty of food options. I didn't think food was good. It was whatever, it could have been what I chose to eat. This rice dish with chicken. I wouldn't recommend it

    Menus

Alcoholic drinks are nasty little alcohol. The food is okay. Don't come here! We are never come again!

    Lauren G.

We came here today for lunch, we are new to the area and we decided to try this place since the photos looked good, and let me tell you, best decision we could've made: our server, Ruth R, was amazing, she was super attentive, gave us our food and drinks really quickly, and was super sweet the ambiance was great, we came during brunch-lunch hours so it was pretty quiet overall, I imagine it gets much louder and busier at night on weekends so I think we chose a good time to come and try this place the food was also great, no surprise there, definitely one of our favorite places in the irving area, I would eat Thirsty Lion food until I get put into a food coma

Stumbled on this place for happy hour when visiting Texas. I loved the atmosphere and very on theme. We only had nachos but they were good. Drinks were very good and plenty of options on the happy hour menu.

    Robert V.

The ambiance and service are excellent. The food was okay, but unmemorable. I owe this place a second try, as I only had appetizers. The drinks were good. Word to the wise. The parking was confusing. You have to park in the garage behind the restaurant. They validate. Parking out front is risky. You could be towed.

WAGYU BEEF & BACON JAM BURGER wagyu ground beef, bacon jam, Muenster cheese, arugula, crispy onions and mayo on ciabatta w/hand-cut fries
    Robert M.

The WAGYU BEEF & BACON JAM BURGER off the special Holiday Menu was tasty. Atmosphere always nice; I like it and the food better than the similar options in TMF (e.g. Yard House, Reservoir, etc.). Service seemed unusually slow especially since they weren't busy. Seemed like more of a kitchen issue than a server issue--you can't bring out what isn't there! But it was acknowledged and the desserts were comp'd without asking (or really needing)! But thanks! I say it often, but how are these handheld payment devices more efficient than the "manual" way we've done it for years? The even stranger thing with TL's implementation is they use a "hybrid" method where they also bring a printed bill followed by the handheld. Figure that one out? Then to get a printed receipt it's yet another wasted trip required by the server. At least our server, unlike others, was smart enough to not hover over us staring as we navigated the device. But she did stand with her back to us the entire time when I'm sure she could have used that time more efficiently... like by going to check on other folks food / needs? Also, no fault of Thirsty Lion, but the parking / validation process is equally less efficient than the "tried and true methods". You have to scan a credit card to get in the garage, then in the restaurant you scan a QR code for parking.com that, even though you already have a card on file with them, it makes you manually rekey your card information. Make sure you don't wait to do that from the garage especially if you're on a lower level as your connection may be lacking like mine was! Is it a "given" that everyone always carries a credit card and phone with them at all times (and the battery isn't dead)? Guess I'm glad I do... or at least did. These are two prime examples where technology complicates what used to be a fast and efficient process. Or at least puts more of the onus on the customer.

You walk in and the bar is to your right. It was about 6 and no one was at the bar. There was a group of guys discussing something over drinks in the lounge area but that was about it. The bartender came right up to my boyfriend and I. I told the bartender my boyfriend had never been to Texas so we tried out essentially every tap by sampling which was nice that he offered that up. After we tried each beer we decided on some options. The bartender went back to texting in the corner and we sat at the bar listening to the music playing in the open concept lobby/bar area We eventually took over the seating area that group was in because the couches looked more cozy than the bar. The happy hour advertised is not a thing anymore, they now have reverse happy hour from 9-10. The beers weren't too expensive as our tab was only $13 which I doable. The bartender disappeared from the bar for a fair amount of time which made me anxious because I used to be a bartender, I guess he trusted we wouldn't leave without paying. He didnt come check on us to see if we needed another beer but that was ok I guess. I went back up to the bar to cash out and that was that. This bar is good for a quick drink but I wouldn't probably go for a top notch bar experience.

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Monaco is one of the prettiest restaurants in all of DFW. Dark wood and dark blue seating invite you in. The bar is stunning, with back lighting highlighting their drinks. There's also an outdoor seating area, including a wind shield - perfect when the weather is nice. This is a great spot for a weekend date night if you want something outside of Dallas. 1 Star. Service - Everyone was very nice. We were never rushed, all dishes could be customized to order, and I never had to ask for a refill. Nothing but good people here. 1 Star. Food - Let me start by saying presentation matters, and the dishes at Monaco are great for your Instagram or Yelp feed. I started with the roasted oysters. I chose it because the description said the oysters are "topped with bone marrow butter". That, combined with the roasted breadcrumbs, added a nice crunchy and smooth texture to the delicious oysters. For my main, I went with the Salmon St. Harve. This beautiful dish had a perfectly prepared salmon. Soft and flaky, but with a crunch from the skin at the bottom. It was served on top of grilled asparagus and topped with a cream sauce that brought everything together. Delicious. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. It's not a secret that I love Water Street. This is an awesome area in the heart of DFW, and I'm so happy there is an upscale restaurant like Monaco that has amazing food. 1 Star.
