We went here to celebrate a birthday for a girlfriend-- they were very accommodating when we had to push the time back. Initial impression, it's a very nice space and lots of cute decor and huge bar area. Definitely great for large parties. When we visited, it did have a strong sewage smell, so I had to deduct points for that. We ordered a trompo taco tower for the table, plus guac and queso -- the food was really good and we loved the complimentary salsa we got with the chips. The drinks were all great and strong! We did not order actual food there because the service was lacking; another reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars. Despite the nice location and good food, we had so much trouble getting basic requests (more chips/salsa, drink refills etc) and our checks was a complete mess. The 3.4 star review on yelp is pretty accurate. Came on a Sunday for brunch. Staff was friendly but the service and food are mediocre. Flavors were acceptable and they have a good $10 bottle mimosa special. However, the queso flameado is mislabeled and it was a big disappointment. This place was very underwhelming for dinner. We came in on a Sunday night at 7pm and the restaurant wasn't busy at all, however the service was ridiculously slow. There were only 3 people in our party so it's not like we had a lot of people to wait on. Our server never came back to refill our waters on her own so we had to keep asking her to do so. The food took a while to come out and when it did, it was barely lukewarm. We all had ordered the taco plates and had similar experiences. Of the three tacos that I got, the only redeeming one was the trompo taco. We read after the fact that this restaurant is known more so for brunch and that other people also experienced the slow service as well. Don't be fooled by what you see on social media. Honestly, while this place may look extraordinary online and seem to have a great vibe, the reality is completely different. The day we visited, their POS system was down due to internet issues, but the worst part is that no one informed us when we arrived. Had we known, we would've gone somewhere else without hesitation. Instead, we waited nearly an hour for our food, and then another full hour just to receive the bill and be able to pay. Two hours lost due to poor communication and lack of organization. We asked for some sort of compensation for all the inconvenience, but received no clear response. We also asked to speak with the manager, but it was practically impossible to find them--their presence was completely absent throughout the entire situation. In short: I do not recommend this place. She answered our questions about the menu and made some good recommendations as well. A great waitress, always makes an enjoyable experience. We had the Chicken Flautas for an appetizer: so crispy and the chicken so tender. Nothing I detest more than dry unseasoned chicken! But these are a MUST ORDER! For entrees we ordered the Ribeye Steak & Buenas Dias breakfast plate. My corn tortillas were homemade and that's a big deal!!!! The parillada is disappointing to say the least but the chimichanga and tacos were great. For context: The parillada was a fajita platter piled high with mostly peppers and onions, I ordered the larger portion which had 2 pieces of shrimp, 4 very small and thin slices of chorizo, chicken slivers that they use for the tacos and a few chunks of steak.
