I've had 20 great experiences here....never one bad experience.....until However on this trip....The wine by the glass was served sour, the shrimp pad Thai was like soup and the bartender spent more time serving and kissing her boyfriend at the bar than paying attention to customers (aka me). I would normally chalk it up to a bad day, but the boyfriend ate and drank next to me. I'm guessing his was comped and I paid for his meal and drinks through my paid bill. They closed early for a team event...no excuse for bad service or indifferent attitude. Please remind your bar tenders (no name tag and no normal intro that I would receive when I sat down at the bar) to pay attention to paying customers over boyfriends. We have now been on 2 occasions. The first visit was at about noon on a Saturday. My wife had a couple dishes in mind before we went that she had viewed online. One was the Fried Cauliflower and the other was the Tuscan Chicken. She was disappointed to learn they were only serving the Brunch menu and those items we not available until after 3PM. We ended up just having a couple drinks and the Cheese Curds before we left. The Curds were very good, we enjoyed them and the drinks. We thought the restaurant looked very nice, clean and had a fun vibe. I even mentioned that I thought the music was perfect as it wasn't too loud and there was not a song that was obnoxious, just a nice background sound. Service was excellent we had no wait and the server was very prompt. We decided to try another day to try the full menu. I am sure there is some reason that restaurants do brunch only menus. I assume it's because they are higher profit dishes and they can limit the offerings to those types of meals. It just sucks that both Saturday and Sundays they only offer the brunch service until 3PM! I could understand maybe noon but 3 is kinda late in my opinion. Second visit was on a Sunday at 3PM so we could get the items she was interested in trying before. We ordered the Cauliflower and it was amazing. I had a hard time wrapping my mind around that it was just cauliflower! Really good item! We then ordered a couple drinks and then decided on a couple meals that were not on minds when we got there but we were open to suggestions. She ordered a BBQ Burger and I ordered the Fried Chicken Mac and Cheese. I would say both were excellent! Food here is on point. Service was a little off, just our server, not the rest of the staff, I don't know what was going on but I think she may have had another section I couldn't see because I believe we were the only table she had in that part of the restaurant and she wasn't very attentive. I never could see her anywhere in the dining area so I am pretty sure it was something like that going on. She forgot our drinks and kinda our food too. My wife had to remind her that we ordered drinks, which she admitted she forgot. Since my wife was facing the kitchen she could see the food on the counter for the servers to grab, and she could see our appetizer sitting there as well. After about 5 minutes of it sitting another server brought it to our table, it was still very hot and still was very good. Same happened with the meal too, it sat then another server brought it to the table. I would have had a few more beers if we would have had more prompt service, but honestly it wasn't a bad experience. Another noted difference was the music, at first it was the same as before but after about 15 minutes of us being there they began to turn up the music volume and that of course increased the noise level overall as people had to speak louder to overcome the music. Had lunch here with 4 co-workers. Food: Calamari was ok, just your average fried calamari. Grilled beef sliders were decent, apps all came out pretty quickly. Main dishes: Rueben - pretty good Steak Salad- steak was cooked perfectly Fish and chips- a little oily and over cooked Kung Pao Chicken - presentation was nice, but the chicken dry and the sauce was so salt forward I could not eat more than half of it- flavor not that great either. We came here during St. Patrick's Day and had such a great experience. The bacon potato patties were so good, and the spicy sausage and prosciutto flatbread was definitely a favorite too. We sat outside on the patio, and the weather was amazing, which made the views even better. Service was also wonderful. I had put off trying this place because of the so-so overall rating. My wife had been here once with friends and vouched for it, and im glad she did! It was hopping when we arrived on a Saturday evening, without a reservation. Super happy to have gotten a 2-top upstairs without a wait. Upstairs is cool, btw - definitely not a downgrade from the main area downstairs. And when it's NOT winter, they have a rooftop patio with access to the upstairs bar! Emily took GREAT care of us. Super personable and very genuine. My wife and I both had the harvest bowl (think that's what it was called?) and it was awesome. Loaded with healthy stuff yet managed to be tasty - I mean, unless you're craving a burger or nachos, etc, ha ha. Dry January is no fun, so I did try a mocktail. Always risky. The NA old fashioned was... interesting, but... okay at best. Just didn't hit the spot for what I wanted. But frankly, I've never had a cocktail that did, so... I didn't ding the rating. Came here with some colleagues for a quick business dinner. I had looked through the Yelp reviews beforehand and it sounded like a pretty solid place. We were seated right away and the server came over to greet us almost immediately after the hostess left the table. She brought waters and did a great job keeping them filled throughout the visit. The menu is on par with a high-end pub--lots of options, though not many formal dinner entrees. We ordered a couple of appetizers to start: the spinach dip and the cauliflower. The cauliflower was really good with a very unique sauce. Quite flavorful and everyone enjoyed it. The spinach dip was, well, spinach dip. Nothing spectacular but still good. For entrees, two of us ordered the pork carnitas bowls, while the others got the ahi tuna bowl and the BBQ pork and kimchi rice. I had no idea what to expect from the carnitas, but to say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. There was a wide variety of flavors and textures, along with plenty of vegetables. It was a sizable portion and even though I was full, I kept picking at it because it was that good (and I couldn't take the rest with me). The others at the table really enjoyed their meals as well--each dish felt unique. They also have an interesting mocktail menu, and my colleagues enjoyed the Mule. If I'm back in town, I'd likely come back. A couple of service-related notes. Our waitress checked on us frequently, which is appreciated, but it was a bit much at times and she occasionally interrupted conversations with commentary. Just something to be mindful of. Also, two meals were delivered first and we had a few minutes of awkward waiting before the other two arrived--better to bring everything out together or hold them until all plates are ready. Finally, a note for the owners: the table was ridiculously wobbly. Both the hostess and server tried to fix it and mentioned it was a common problem. Don't make your staff climb under tables during service--either fix them properly or replace them. It's not a great look. read more

We had dinner last night at Thirsty Lion before checking out Cosm and the rest of the Grandscape area. This is located in a great spot around everything but parking can be rough on the weekend. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. We were nervous when they didn't have any reservations left but they got us in without a wait. Our server had great recommendations and answered all of our questions. The fried rice was very flavorful. French fries were crisp. Burger got soggy a little quickly but was seasoned well. Mediterranean bowl was different but good. The menu has many options so we will be coming back. Highly recommend the pear martini as well! read more

I would consider this to be an average sports bar. By the name, I was expecting something a bit more British Pub oriented, but it did not have that vide at all. It was pretty empty when we were there, even for a Wednesday at lunchtime. We were of course seated right away and then our server was there right away as well. She did a very good job throughout. She even had to explain that the oven was broken so that anything from the menu that needed an over was not available, generally flatbreads and the large soft pretzel. Unfortunately those were two items we were looking for and had said that right away even before being told about the oven down. It seems to me that when two people have expressed an interest in a food and neither are available, we should have been offered an appetizer of some kind free as a good gesture. But we were not. We did order a bowl of beer cheese soup to split and the server delivered it to the middle of the table and brought 2 spoons. We both thought the soup was excellent but could have used more than two small sad croutons in it. For the mains, my wife had the French Dip and it met all expectations for size and flavor. Her side was the coleslaw which tasted good; however, I do not think I have ever seen a smaller dish for serving what amounted to about four small forks full. A side serving of slaw should be at least double that size if not triple, after all if is basically just cabbage and sauce. I had the Reuben sandwich. It was average size at best - could have been bigger in terms of a couple more slices of corn beef and more sauerkraut. Flavor was excellent though, and the bread toasted perfectly. My side was fries which were a bit too greasy for my taste. Overall, there are lots of sports bars in the area, like all areas, so you can do better. read more

I think I was expecting more of just a burgers and fries type of pub, but was pleasantly surprised at how multicultural the menu was. Our table had everything from a French dip sandwich to kimchi fried rice. All very good and the atmosphere was pleasant with a decent amount of TV screens with sports but yet comfortable enough to sit with family, friends, or even business colleagues for a drink. I love the happy hour at Thirsty Lion! You can get drinks and appetizers for under $10, which is such a great deal. The grilled salmon bites were absolutely delicious, served with a bit of arugula and a light vinegar dressing on top, super flavorful. I also ordered the crispy calamari and some tacos, both of which were tasty and well-prepared. For drinks, I had a bourbon and a margarita both were good. I usually like my bourbon a little on the sweeter side since it can be strong, and they nailed the balance. Love coming here for their bacon burger oh my God it's a hit every single time. The bun is super soft and the bacon I do extra crispy and these aren't thin slices of bacon. These are thick slices of bacon cooked perfectly. I always order the burger, medium. I get all the fixings and you cannot go wrong. It's the perfect meal when coming here. I came here a few weeks ago, and my experience was "meh." My server started off strong and then the service just fizzled. You know, where the server disappears after the food comes only to return when it's time to pay. I ordered the artichoke spinach dip, Szechuan orange chicken, tacos, the passion fruit and mango agua fresca, and the raspberry drop. The dip was just okay and bland, however the accompanying chips were good. I wish the dip had more cheese the Orange chicken was okay the riced was basic the orange chicken to me tasted bland and the pieces I had wasn't high quality. I was very disappointed. The tacos however were scrumptious these are a must try. As far as the drinks surprisingly the passion fruit mango aqua fresca was the standout compared to the raspberry drop. My raspberry drop just wasn't mixed well. It wasn't sweet either. As I expected. Unfortunately I won't be back mainly due to service i experienced. Prices are a bit on the high end of the spectrum and the food was ok. I was not floored but I will still like to come back to try something different. This location falling apart. The service is very inconsistent and the quality of food has degraded a lot - we have been coming here since 2022 and i am an active member. As an example, when we were there last time - i ordered a cocktail and it was brought after a very long time probably sitting on bar because it was quite watered down by the time it was served. Um, how have I not written a review on this place yet? I have been here many, many times, and the reason is because of their amazing location and happy hour items. Atmosphere/Ambiance - 5/5 - Great location (Grandscape), with an excellent indoor and outdoor area. You can bring your pup outside, and that is really great for myself. Staff - 5/5 - Friendly and attentive. They are really nice, and make sure to check on you especially if you are outside. Food/Drink - I have ordered soooo many things here, and the next time I come back, I will update with photos. In the meantime, I will list the HAPPY HOUR items that I recommend: - Garlic Sesame Edamame - Little messy for the kids, but great flavor. - Spicy Fried Cauliflower - Not spicy at all, but great flavor. - Grilled Burger Sliders - Nothing too special here, but I love sliders. - Spicy Fried Chicken Sliders - Not spicy, but great if you are a fan of chicken. - Beer Battered Cheese Curds - The dipping sauces pair really well here. - Ahi Poke Stack - Very refreshing...has a great marinade on the fish itself. - Crispy Calamari - Nothing too special here, but great for the kids. - Bacon Wrapped BBQ Shrimp - Wish there were more pieces, but again, recommend. Attended for a friend's birthday party. Food was absolutely horrible. Too salty, uncooked. Had to send my appetizers, yes plural, back as well as my entrée. The drinks were skimpy on the alcohol. The service was an absolutely disaster. Waiting 15 to 20 mins for drinks. Waitress,who was not new on the job because I asked, did not know the menu or specials.
