I'm two weeks in and super happy! The flavors are delicious. Very balanced and tasty. I can even swap out meals for other meals, as I discovered that I'm not a fan of the breakfast choices. My most fav thing so far? The 24 Carrot Revolution Muffin! It's heavenly! read more

I love the concept of Thistle, and haven't had any of the service issues noted in other reviews. My deliveries have always arrived in my selected time window and the convenience of having healthy food brought to my door can't be beat. I think the prices are reasonable; if you get 5 meals/week it's about the same price per meal as a salad from Mixt Greens. I've been using the service for about 2 months now, and even recommended it to friends. I really wanted to love it! 3 stars because the food is just... not that great. The salads are generally awesome, with big portions that keep me full. I especially like the salads with quinoa and chicken or ground turkey. Unfortunately their more "entree" style foods are pretty gross. The photographs online are usually really misleading, and the food suffers from texture issues because you have to reheat stuff that has been sitting in some sort of liquid at the bottom of the container and it turns to mush. They also sometimes use chicken sausage in their salads, but cut it up like a cooked hot dog which is just revolting to me. I've consistently left feedback on their website after meals, but it doesn't seem like the company actually synthesizes the feedback to make any changes to their menu. Now that I've been through their menu rotation a few times, I know which dishes to avoid and will go into the system ahead of my delivery to switch things out. Unfortunately, there are some weeks where the menu options for both days of a given delivery are not appealing, so I'm stuck eating food I don't like. I would love to see Thistle allow you to choose from a larger array of options for each delivery day, so you aren't confined to just a few choices. A "salads only" subscription if you just want to have something healthy for lunch would be cool, too. read more

I used to subscribe to a CSA box in an effort to make sure I incorporate a variety of fresh produce in my diet every day. But honestly, at this point, I just don't have time or energy to create the incredible meals that Thistle can. I get the lunch and snacks four times a week and I am so extremely satisfied every day. The salads are a really generous portion (and I lhave a hearty appetite), gorgeous, hearty, packed with complex flavors and super yummy ingredients. The snacks are usually some sort of sweet yummy muffin, bar or delicious homemade hummus and chopped veggies. So simple but so well done. I feel like I am getting lots of good lean protein overall and like I'm taking great care of myself. It ends up being more $ than if I were to cook for myself, but considering what I would pay to go out to lunch, the obvious care they take with planning meals AND and considering the extremely high level of nutrition I'm getting...it's worth it. Customer service has been very friendly and helpful. I'm a fan! read more

Fresh, nutritious, and delicious. What more could you want? Oh, yes. They're also super speedy. At our door in under 10 minutes. And I could track my driver while they were on the way! read more

Most of the bad reviews here seem to be about the food. IMO their food is okay (not great), but their reliability of their delivery service (to the peninsula) is terrible. I've been using them for over six months now, and the food arrives within the stated 2-hour delivery window a little more than 50% of the time. Sometimes the food is so late that I'm not sure it's safe to eat (as I order the non-vegetarian option). Sometimes they leave the bag sitting outside without ringing the doorbell. They're supposed to send an SMS before delivery, and another one after delivery. Sometimes these messages arrive as expected, but sometimes I get one and sometimes neither. The worst combination, of course, is when they leave the bag outside, don't ring the doorbell, and neither sms notification arrives. It happened today, and it has happened a few times before. The customer service is generally great at sounding supportive, but hasn't really been able to get these problems eliminated in spite of months of complaining. As for the food -- I get the nonvegetarian lunches, which are a salad plus some dry-ish chicken (most of the time, but occasionally it's shrimp or turkey). Since I think of the lunch as "salad" and often add another source of protein, it has worked out fine for me. The only reason I don't switch to the vegetarian option is that I don't want them putting tempeh or soy into the salad instead of the meat. If there were a reasonably healthy alternative, I would certainly be giving it a try by now -- but more because of the hassle caused by the flaky deliveries than because of the food itself. read more

Sometimes I wonder if people read websites before ordering from them. Complaints about too many carbs or food being cold.... check the menu if you don't like it- don't order that week. And hey, genius, these are prepackaged meals- reheat them. Now that we've exercised a little common sense- delivery is on time and delivery person is nice. Food tastes good (to me, but everyone's palate is different). It's a good value and it's convenient. read more

I've tried out several food delivery services like Instacart, UberEats, Eat24, Good Eggs, Three Stone Hearth, and others. I realize of course not all of these are the same business model but never in my life have any of these had as many issues with my order as Thistle did! I was a customer of Three Stone Hearth for many many years before discovering Thistle. In that time they had an issue with my order only once in SEVERAL YEARS. In the short 2 months with Thistle, I was averaging more than an issue once a week. Food wouldn't show up. Food would go bad too quickly for supposedly being "fresh". And finally the most common is that the packaging department would simply pack less than I was supposed to get (ie instead of 2 dinners I'd get 1) or the wrong items altogether! Given that I was depending on them for my meals, this is simply unacceptable and only giving credits for these mistakes is beyond the pale. I'd not walk but run from this company. Unless they can get a Marcus Lemonis in to whip them into shape, they won't be in business much longer. read more

Amazing food.... Terrible delivery service. While my Monday and Wednesday meals arrived regularly and were delicious, the Friday driver delivered to a house with the same house number on a completely different street every time. I sent detailed instructions on how to find my house and where is was in relation to the other street, even including photos, but it seemed the driver was incapable of delivering my order to the correct address. Ultimately, I had to cancel my service due to this. I have sent a request (3 times now over the past month) to have my Friday delivery only delivered to my work address due to the driver's inability to correctly deliver to my home address but have not received a response to any of my messages. You will love the vegan food variety here IF you actually receive your orders. read more

I don't love this. I saw many people mentioned portion size. I didn't find this to be a problem. It was enough food for me, but a vast majority of each meal is some starch (lentils, beans, quinoa etc). If you ate their meals for one meal a day, you'd quickly eat your weight in beans or lentils! I don't like to eat like that. I prefer the bulk of meals to be veggies. For example, one of the meals I got was chicken, broccoli and gravy bowl. There were only 3 small bites of broccoli in it and it was almost entirely lentils. I understand that's how they keep the cost down, but I don't think this is healthy eating. The customer service is good though. read more

My first order never arrived and I can't get a hold of anyone. I'm debating asking for a refund and cancelling future orders. Don't order from here. They don't care enough about their customers to stay in contact. Delivery windows are small according to the website. I wish I saw this before I ordered. read more

Excellent fresh food, tasty juice, very speedy service. My new favorite delivery place!

Missed deliveries, can be difficult to get in touch with customer service. Left three messages through the chat they offer in the website - none were answered. It's very hard to cancel once you sign up so be really careful since it's so expensive. The website/app is buggy and will tell you delivery is canceled - then it turns out the delivery was not canceled and you will be charged anyway. They're aggressive with auto-renewal then very hard to get in touch with to cancel, and very hard to get refund. The food itself is pretty underwhelming - a lot of meals are goopy stuff of baby food consistency. Then a lot of meals are just pretty generic chicken salads type stuff. You're better off just making oatmeal and getting some chicken salad for lunch and dinner, and investing in some quality vegan salad dressing or toppings. If it was cheaper the convenience might be worth it, but for the price point it would only be worth it for me if the food tasted better or was special. The convenience factor is kind of canceled out by the fact that the delivery is not consistent. read more

The conundrum of being vegetarian or vegan often is inside the quandary of one key factor: protein. Then comes Thistle. Like many I was looking super forward to Thistle. Also like many my delivery was a disaster. I never got my meals. I was a sent a picture of it outside my huge condo complex that has a 24/7 lobby. Later I found out from my complex others get thistle delivered with no problem in the building! No idea why mine was left outside. I immediately canceled my order and probably won't try them again. My first go round I intentionally ignored the reviews about awful delivery protocols... Won't be doing that again. Not how anyone wants to start their Monday morning.... Keep in mind there is no number to call so you just email and hope for a response. Additionally they don't offer you anything in return for failing on delivering your order. read more

Such a great service delivering fresh and tasty vegan food! Makes eating healthy so easy and pretty affordable. $10 and free delivery right to my door - new go-to lunch of choice. The Pine juice is an amazing perfect blend! read more

Pretty awesome to have fresh juice delivered to work in 5-10 min. I tried them for the first time and ordered 3 total, 2 x 17.5 oz (Verdance) and 1x 8.5 oz (Pine). Both tasted just liked making fresh juice myself and I didn't have to clean up afterwards ;). Definitely a huge fan of the taste, delivery, and juice options. Can't beat free delivery either. Compared to other pressed juice companies/services, I recommend giving Thistle a try. read more

Thistle - 2 x 17.5 oz of Verdance and 1 x 8.5 oz of Pine delivered to my work in 10 min :) - Food Delivery Services Near Me

Supper tasty, filling, healthy food. The almond latte is amazing. I had a chicken and frittata salad for lunch, really good but the chickpea frittata was a little dry. I didn't heat it up, which you're supposed to, so that would have helped. I had the chili for dinner with the ground turkey. The eggplant is a little undercooked but it's so filling and really well spiced. People mentioned here that their deliveries were late, out arrived around 6:30am, which was perfect. read more

Finally a food delivery vegan meal I can have! I am used to eating clean and simple. That means no to little oil, and no to little salt. So having these prepared meals that I know are good for my body is a dream come true. read more

I love the convenience, and gluten and dairy free organic options, but beyond that, this is not sustainable. If you eat animal protein, be prepared for chicken twice a day every day, on end, with the very random sporadic shrimp or pork meal. Also, if you don't like salads for lunch, this is not for you, as every lunch is a cold salad. They are very friendly and I'm trying to hang in there as they try to be responsive to feedback, but for what appears to be a nimble startup, changes are far too slow. I have to bite my lip right now cuz I'm busier than I've ever been, but I can't wait for the time to free up to cook again so that I have some freedom of variety and meals I can warm up and truly enjoy. read more

I think with any meal delivery service, it all comes down to how the food tastes. From my experience, 8/10 meals I received from Thistle tasted terrible. I'm already a big plant eater, so I'm not making any drastic changes to my diet, but the vegan friendly meals I've had so far with this company are terrible. I can't imagine how the experience would be for a meat eater hoping to transition into veganism through this program. Not only are the meals unsatisfying af, many of my deliveries came with the meals upside down and its contents spilling all over the other packaged meals. Very messy and very careless on their end. I cancelled my account after a short while. read more

LOVE THIS SERVICE. It is tasty - easy - delivered to your door. I am pretty uninterested in cooking but wanted to eat healthier - so my boyfriend and I signed up for Thistle. It's surprisingly good and healthy. Filling and easy. I hope they stay afloat read more

This is my first full week having thistle delivered and I'm really impressed. I have been having 3 meals a day and a juice and so far the breakfasts, lunch and juice have been my fav. I don't think I will keep ordering the dinners because they're a little small for me but I love love love the lunch options. The flavours are so delicious, full of healthy goodness and filling. I can already feel the difference of eating clean, I have more energy and my skin is bright. It's surprising how easy it is, thank you thistle for making eating healthy such a breeze! read more

Real healthy and delicious food, delivered fast. They send you a link to track your food as soon as you order, which is super cool. The food is all vegan and there are hardly any vegan restaurants around SOMA at this point I love the chia pudding which is a delicious 'super food' for breakfast. I've always felt satisfied with their lunch items read more

I really wanted to love this service and food. The only good thing is that they deliver ontime at least to Sacramento area, the minus is that some food items come with lids that are distented which can mean spoiled food. The food is not tasty to my standards and I found a meat soup in my vegan delivery. read more

I tried it for a few days, and though I didn't like the food (just a matter of taste) I think the size of their portions, prices and customer service was really good. Thistle is a very good service for those who don't want to think too much about food and eat healthy. read more

I found the food really excellent and fresh. A few colleagues at work have been getting this and I decided to give it a try myself. Really good ingredients and I found the portion size to be perfect. I've been using Thistle for a few months and I'm very pleased with their protein (meat) dinner menu. The food is healthy and spans a delicious variety of cuisines. It makes life so much easier to have food always waiting. They recently lowered their prices and when compared to take out their a bargain for consistently healthier meals. Also, if your in the market for other meals and snacks, they have a great variety including newly added soups that look pretty good. read more

I am so disappointed. Once I had an OK experience where they did not make a substitution I wanted but otherwise delivered fresh food on time! The second time.... My food never came. I waited for the whole 5-8am delivery window... By 8:15 I had to leave for work. So I left and immediately sent an email to customer service requesting a refund. She got back to me hours later (within the 11am hour) stating the updated ETA for my delivery was actually 8:45, 45 minutes after the window I was quoted. Except no one ever came at 8:45 (I know this because there was no food at my door when I arrived). I gave them my gate code and phone number, and no one bothered to contact me anywhere near my delivery window. Customer service was very nice and is giving me a refund in 5-10 days, which I am happy about. However, she asked if I wanted to still accept a Wednesday food delivery. I said no thanks and gave some friendly feedback as to why I didn't feel I could rely on the service. Despite saying I did NOT want to wait around for a Wednesday delivery (in response to her giving me the option), customer service just informed me that it is too late to cancel my Wednesday delivery... Unfortunately I cannot accept this delivery now because I made other work-related plans in the morning (AFTER canceling Thistle and responding that I did not want the delivery). This is immensely wasteful. I am totally shocked that no one contacted me during my Monday delivery window, and even more shocked that Thistle is insisting on delivering my meals tomorrow after I canceled and said no thank you. This was a total nightmare. read more

It's been a long times since I posted on Yelp, but Thistle is just so good. I am on a four day lunch only meal plan (with meat) and it's awesome. I don't have to worry about making lunch and it's delicious and healthy. For me the lunch portions are more than I normally eat and the ingredients are filling. Price wise, it's less than I would spend eating out for lunch, so I'm saving money too. read more

I like this food very much. Have been getting for about 3 months. The delivery has been great, no problems. The website is easy to use. I do the vegan meals, am about to try the non-vegan for my husband. The 4 stars is for the expense. read more

You should be able to choose what kind of food you want delivered (salads v stews). If that option comes up, I will sign up again.

As usual, the ads companies like yours place on Instagram don't allow you to view what exactly you're getting into unless you sign up. Also, like all the others, these plans turn out to be extremely expensive when added to the additional groceries you must buy to supplement your limited weekly eating plan. Sorry, it's a no go for me! read more

I've been a Thistle subscriber for 6 weeks now. I subscribe to their lunches 3x a week. I am incredibly obsessed and grateful for this service. It is worth every penny. Please stay forever, can't live without you. Healthy, creative, fresh, tasty and vegan. Client for life. read more
