Bought a car from usa auto that hadn't had the transmission fluid in it ever changed even once. The owner felt bad so he called over there and as a favor they did a full service for only 250.00. Compared to jiffy lube, who tryed to charge me 400.00. They did a great job and had it wrapped up in a hour. Im not so sure about the few bad reviews they got as my experience was great. So great in fact that I took my truck down and after talking with the wife's ower, she did a full service for 180.00. read more

Do not use Thomas Automatic Transmissions for your transmission repairs. It no longer has the integrity the previous owners were so proud of. Our trucks transmission needed a rebuild, broke down on us on the road. They had it for three weeks, The original estimate did not include all of the parts. We paid much more than expected. Three weeks later the transmission went out again. Towed back to them, was fixed under warranty. Almost 12 months to the day it goes out again, same issue. Their response was if it is a part, It's not our fault. Plus we were treated rudely, ( that's an understatement ) Needlessly to say, we had it towed to a different shop. After checking around, we got quite an education on Thomas Transmission and their shoddy work, and work ethics. read more

So on 6/24 I took my 2005 Silverado to Thomas Transmission in Kelso, WA. to have the transmission rebuilt. I got a quote for $3200 for a total rebuild and we agree on it. I am home a couple days later and i get a call from them telling me I needed a "new pump" and it would be $200 more, I said I thought that would be in the quote ( only a rip off would pull this... right) they said they don't add this in the original quote because sometimes it does not need to be replaced ( only a rip off would pull this, right?) So I get my truck back in a couple weeks and it never really felt quite right, then it went out again in about 2-3 weeks. Have it towed back in, the "new" pump he installed had went out, which he then accidentally let it slip that he had rebuilt thousands of these after they told me new...whatever blowhard. I got my truck back on 8/13/24...NO truck for 1.5 months! Yesterday 8/12/2025 my transmission goes out again, 364 days since second rebuild but one year warranty started at first rebuild and they would not cover it. I got in a heated discussion with owner and he told me that if that truck left the shop and made it two weeks that they had done their job and were not responsible for part failure( only a rip off would pull this right). my pickup is at a different repair shop now and I am footing the whole bill myself. was told they were doing full service and checking everything, after paying $260 they informed me they only looked at my transmission. I knew my transmission was fine it was the spark plugs/alternator and whatnot I wanted looked at. total rip off. we literally stood in the lobby and discussed what I wanted a they said no problem then said they don't deal with that. why not say that BEFORE TAKING MY MONEY?!? I have a vintage 1988 Chevrolet Caprice Estate Wagon with a 2004r transmission that had a faulty TCC shift solenoid malfunction causing my converter to lock up. I've had several of these transmissions over the years and it's a recurring issue with the 200r4 so I purchased the parts and called to schedule an appointment. They got me in quickly, made the repair perfectly and didn't try to upsell me. I was in and out in less than an hour. The staff is courteous, knowledgeable and very professional and now my transmission shifts factory new. Their prices are very reasonable as well. In my 54 years I have dealt with some horrible mechanics, especially transmission shops. This is not one of them and I would highly recommend them any day of the week. Teo thumbs up! read more

This guy saved my ass! Thought I blew a tranny but he checked everything out and found a clogged filter, and no evidence of damage to the tranny, or the transfer case. My car was fixed and I was charged a reasonable service fee. If you need an honest mechanic, this is your guy. read more
