stay away from this shop. Don't stand behind their work and owner is very rude. They put in my 2014 Mitsubishi outlander sport in sept 2024. Drove less then couple hundred mile and started hearing a clunk underneath and vibration and smelling transmission fluid. Took it to a local shop as I live 90 plus miles away from a +. The local shop found the issue as soon as they looked. They found a motor mount bolt missing. They advised they only way it was missing was because it was not tightened properly causing it to back out. The caused the motor and transmission to vibrate and crack the housing on the new transmission I had them install. When I called A+ i spoke to a lady that from what I understand is the owner. I asked her if they were going to pay to have the car towed to them as it was their poor work that caused the issue. The tow quote I got was $1000. She told me no they don't pay for tows. I explained it was due to an error on their part that caused the issue. She argued they didn't do anything wrong. I told her the bolt to the motor mount is gone and they don't just back out if tightened correctly. She said something stupid like "things happen, my car should have started this morning, but it didn't". I then asked if they were going to cover the cracked transmission case their poor workmanship caused. She told me no we don't cover customer supplied parts. I told her yes but it your poor workmanship that cause the issue ruining a new transmission, All she did was repeat "they don't cover customer supplied parts. All she did say was bring it in and they would put the motor mount bolt. I asked why I would pay $1000 dollars to have it towed to them to put a bolt in when the shop where it was at could do that. The bigger issue was their poor work cracking the case on the transmission. In the end she told me to stop calling as she wasn't going to deal with it anymore. Wow, your crappy work, ruin a new transmission and do nothing. This has worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Stay away from this place or hope they don't mess up your vehicle. Extremely disappointed with this company. We got referred by a tire shop in town to take our vehicle here to get diagnosed for the transmission issues we believe it was having. We called on 12-21-22 to see if they would be able to help us. Lady we spoke to on the phone sounded very knowledgeable and told us they were super slow and that if we could take it in within a couple days we could get it diagnosed before they close for a week due to the holidays/end of the year. Our Nissan Versa got towed to their place 12-22-22 early in the morning. The lady made a joke to the tow truck driver saying he could park it anywhere as he could see they were "soooo busy" in a totally sarcastic way. Didnt hear anything from them on Friday the 12-23-22 so we figured after they come back from break. Didn't hear anything until 1-3-23 and that simply because I called and asked if there was any updates. The lady I spoke to mentioned they were working on it and I'd here back soon. On Wednesday 1-4-23 they called and spoke to my husband and let him know that it was the starter that needed to be replaced. He asked how much it was going to cost (since he's pretty car savvy) and the lady he spoke to had no idea. My husband made sure to tell her that he wanted to know a price before they went ahead and got started on replacing anything. She said she would call him back immediately. Never heard back. He called Thursday and left a voicemail. Never heard back. Monday I call completely frustrated asking who I can speak to that Can give me an answer on how much the starter was going to cost. She put me on hold and gave some ridiculous number of $300+ for JUST the starter. She mentioned she needed to consult with the tech to figure out labor costs. WTF. I immediately told her that we weren't paying that. That I would go get the car and she goes "uh. I'll have to check with the guys because they were working on it Friday" We never confirmed that it was ok for them to put the new starter in. We simply wanted a diagnostics and were waiting to hear on a price before we proceeded. They called my husband and said there was some miscommunication but that labor & starter was $300+ whatever I was quoted on the phone. We never agreed for them to put it in. We were waiting on communication. So basically the owner became a total bitch and went "pfff so what? You want me to take out the new starter and put the broken one in?!" YES. We never gave you permission to put anything in! We simply were waiting to hear on a price!! Had we known the price upfront we wouldn't have even proceeded and it would have saved them the hassle of this all. 5 minutes after the owner is a total bitch she calls back and says it's just cheaper for them to give us the starter. To just come get the car. We went to pick up the car 1-10-23 and the guy there who knew nothing of what was happening he didn't know if there was a bill or not so he called the owner and you hear her go "take whatever money he has". Super unprofessional and unethical on their behalf. They didn't communicate and I've never had a car/auto place EVER work on anything on a car weather it's free or $2 without the owners approval. Save yourself the headache. We ended up giving them $100 because we didn't want to be complete assholes but really regretting that now based on how the owner acted throughout this whole thing. As a company you just take the loss if YOU are the one who fucked up. read more

I can't say enough positive things about these guys! We were traveling from Park City, Utah in a 2003 Ford E350 conversion van on our way to Astoria when we broke down--front drive line resting on the crossbar, rear driveline disconnected and transfer case shifted! We limped into a town (Kalama pop. 2,500) and the mechanics said they could not fix our problems but recommended A+ Transmission in Longview, WA. We had the van towed there and within hours they were working on it and got us back on the road ASAP! Very honest lovely crew that could not have been more accommodating and their quality of work is the best of the best! Best experience ever! My car was shifting hard, the check engine light was on and based on the code it returned, the issue appeared to be a shift solenoid. Without charging me one cent, they looked at my car and informed me that the issue I was having was under recall and I could probably get it fixed without charge. Upon their recommendation, I ended up taking my car to the Toyota dealership in town and my issue was under recall and they did fix it for free. I very much appreciate that they have up to date knowledge, were kind, fast, friendly, and honest. read more

I was headed to the Oregon Coast for a weekend getaway when I experienced some engine problems along I-5. The problem appeared to be pretty bad so I decided to find the closest Jeep dealership to get things checked out. The Jeep dealership had a 5 hour wait just to have my car looked at so I did a quick search for another repair shop in town. Thankfully I came across A+ Transmission Specialists and had the pleasure of working with the owner Arnold Norton. I explained to Arnold that I was on my way to the coast for the weekend and without hesitation he put down his lunch and began helping me out. Arnold went above and beyond the call of duty by first visually inspecting my car then taking it on a 3 mile test drive with me to get a feel for the problem that I was experiencing. This level of service is rare these days and because of it he was able to quickly fix the problem and get me back on the road in under one hour. I have never written a Yelp recommendation before but feel that it was absolutely necessary to share my pleasant experience with A+ Transmission Specialists. They got me right in and we were rolling the next day. It was nothing short of a miracle. But that wasn't all, they made sure I was OK (middle aged woman and all...) and didn't just close for the night. They waited til my ride (from 3 hours away) was able to come.
