Within 30 minutes, he got me setup with a new car policy, a rate, and I was able to walk out with the car. A little about my background: I moved to Illinois back in 2010 after accepting a job offer. Fast forward to 2020, he's been my agent through my first car purchase, my engagement ring coverage, my dog insurance, my first home purchase, and now my wife's car purchase. I submitted my claim expecting my insurance company to help me through the process. Instead, my claim was denied based on an allegation that my vehicle was being used for work. I strongly disagreed with that determination. My vehicle was being used for personal transportation and commuting, and I provided documentation from my employer confirming that I do not transport clients as part of my job. Despite providing this information and appealing the decision, I have continued to deal with this situation for months. What has been especially frustrating is the amount of time, effort, and stress this process has caused. I expected my insurance company to investigate the circumstances fairly and work with me, rather than leaving me feeling like I had to fight to have my claim properly considered. I have since taken the matter to the Indiana Department of Insurance and am continuing to pursue a resolution. I am sharing my experience because I believe customers deserve to know how their claims may be handled when a dispute arises.
