I started seeing Dr. Jared Thomas due to my neck hurting. The first two visits were good and I thought I was on the road to recovery. On my third visit Dr. Thomas also adjusted my lower back. On my fourth visit which was also my last visit Dr. Thomas adjusted my lower back, there was a very loud CRACK. Dr. Thomas stated "I just broke you rib". He passed the blame off on me and said I must have moved my arm. Every single time I was adjusted, he manipulated my arms to the exact location he wanted them. I asked Dr. Thomas if I needed to go to the ER or call my doctor. Dr. Thomas said no, I would heal in a few months. Dr. Thomas stated it was common to break the patients ribs during treatment. The only instruction Dr. Thomas gave me was to come back and see him in two days, which I didn't. Now on top of my neck hurting, I was having difficulty breathing and was in severe pain from my ribcage. I had planned on joining their "plan" the day Dr. Thomas hurt me. Dr. Thomas said there was no need I would receive free care for the next two months. By the time I arrived home I was in shock. I called my healthcare advice line who instructed me to go to the ER immediately. To this day over two weeks later Dr. Jared Thomas has NEVER called, text or emailed to see how I am feeling. I was admitted to the emergency room of Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley after an adjustment performed by Dr. Jared Thomas in Roseville. A loud popping sound was heard and he immediately said, matter-of-factly that he may have broken my rib. This was indeed the opinion of the doctor and nurses at the ER. They are calling it a hairline fracture and dislocated rib. He never called to check on me. It has been nearly a year and I have lingering pain in my chest, from the front to back that affects my posture. The pain disturbs my sleep and affects my mood and my ability to focus on my work. I opened this yelp account in order to rate this office. While I realize that Chiropratic Care is Subjective at the least, but I haven't used this type of care in the past, so I'm not sure what I expected, except I never thought I'd walk out in worse shape than walking IN. Dr. Thomas dislocated my ribs (his explaination) and to this date (2 weeks later) they still haven't "healed". My pain is constant. I can't hug, sneeze, cough, or take very deep breathes without stabbing pain. He has said this will have to "run it's course", and genuinely doesn't seem to give a hoot. Generally I am not a big fan of chiropractors but not long ago I found myself in a situation where I had to get a first hand experience. And it changed my opinion forever. My elderly mother (in her late 60's) hurt her back a couple months back while lifting a bookcase (i know, but she is German and tough as nails) and after bearing insatiable pain for four days she reluctantly called me for a ride to the doctor (she doesn't drive). I took her to her regular General Practitioner, one that had been my fathers doctor of choice prior to his passing. This sad case of a medical professional proceeded to prod her once in the back with his finger and states "it's a little tender isn't it" (no shit sherlock). My mother never seeks medical attention so it must have been major. That wrapped up the exam and proceeded to push some pills on her. After her retelling the tale I was convinced to take action. My first call was to Dr. Jared Thomas, he was referred to me from a dance school instructor that raved about him and what he did for her dancers and their frequent injuries. The next day we were in his office. Although a younger doctor he had a comfort and confidence generally reserved for professionals his senior. He was thorough and attentive to he brutally painful state and all the while explained what he was doing and what was causing the pain. We proceeded to see him several times a week for about a month tops. My mother made quick advancements and even took on a basic routine of exercises and stretches Dr. Thomas recommended. Now she can often be seen prodding away at her garden and hasn't had back pain or difficulty since. Many visits were covered under insurance and the initial visit was a mere $25.00. Finally a chiropractor that cares to heal and not just heal his bank statement! I can wholeheartedly vouch for the expert skills of this specific chiropractor and whenever someone asks, he is the first I recommend. In fact he is the only one I recommend. read more

There are few times in life when you run into someone in the medical and/or healing professions who live in a state of service to others. Dr. Thomas is one of those people. I have suffered from pain in my lower back, hips and neck for years and was at a point of just living with it. But, one day I woke up and realized I could no longer simply drop pain pills in the morning. I needed to do something to make this pain go away. I called Dr. Thomas' office and spoke with his receptionist, who is also his mother, and she was pleasant and wonderful. She was able to fit me in the same day, only 2 hours later. I was so grateful to not have to wait, because I was in so much discomfort. When I arrived I was treated like an old friend. I immediately felt comfortable and welcome. I also had my first adjustment that same day, and I have to tell you I have not felt such intense relief of pain so immediately in my entire life. I am really impressed with the genuine attention I receive from Dr. Thomas each time I come. I've had some really awkward and uncomfortable experiences with chiropractors in the past, so I was really hesitant to seek out a new doc to adjust me, but i was really desperate for a crack- Chiropractors in the past have always told me that if I didn't come 3x a week i wouldn't get any results. This office, simply put, is amazing. The staff is always super kind and helpful! I went in on one particular visit (I have chronic pain from DDD, sacroilitis, spinal cord stenosis, and neuropathy) with my two boys in tow. That's how is single moms have to rock it sometimes. That being said, not only did I leave feeling MUCH relief in my spine, my youngest son however wasn't feeling so well all of a sudden. As the lovely ladies up front offered my kiddos to pick a prize for being so well behaved, my youngest, who I picked up in my arms, said his tummy hurt. T-minus 15 seconds to total exorcism style projectile vomit, all down mom from shoulder to toes. And it just kept coming. My poor little guy. Their poor office!!! I was mortified and concerned about my little bit this office didn't even skip a beat. The ladies came from behind the check-in desk to help, and even the AMAZING Dr. Thomas, gloves on, dove in to help. They were all concerned for me and my youngest son, and helped us get cleaned up as much as possible, so we could get home. Earlier this year I took up running at the ripe old age of 44. I experienced all sorts of aches and pains which I figured I was just something I was going to have to live with until I, somewhat naively, decided to enter a trail race. Let's just say it didn't go well. After the race I could barely walk and spent more than 2 weeks in intense pain. So, the weekend of 10/16/2020, my family and I were planning probably our last camping trip of the year. The previous weekend, I did something stupid and tried to impress my daughter with how far I could drive a golf ball at the driving range. Stupid move on my part, really hurt my back. As the week proceeded towards our camping weekend, my back was getting worse and I feared we would not be able to go. I went to see Dr. Thomas. He adjusted me and told me to take it easy. Did I listen? No. Wednesday morning rolled around and I was getting some things in the back of my truck ready and I twisted wrong and my back spasmed worse than I have ever experienced before. Later that day, my wife took me to Thomas Chiropractic and Dr. Wagnon saw me walking in. He knew right away I was in bad shape. He adjusted me as best my body would allow. I told him I was trying to get away the next day to go camping. He didn't want to discourage me but the look he gave me said enough. I was not ready. He told me to come back the next day early and late. The later afternoon adjustment was positive and he encouraged me to come back Friday morning before we left....that is if we were going to leave. Dr. Thomas is great - he listens, he cares, and he knows his stuff. I have been seeing a chiropractor since I was 12. (I'm nearly 30 now) so I've been around the block, unfortunately. I started out with minor scoliosis and have somewhat recently been diagnosed with lumbar stenosis. I have a lot of issues. Dr. Thomas is realistic but practical as well as fast! I've witnessed the result of Dr.Thomas' work. He injured my wife when he put his whole body weight on her and cracked one of her ribs. "I think I broke your rib," he said matter-of-factly. This was nearly 1 year ago to the day and still, she is in pain. For months it would keep her up at night and had to do physiotherapy. She has now been consulting a rolfing therapist in Grass Valley who is helping her release the tension from her body, but Dr.Thomas has not been willing to help recover the cost of his negligence. Let me start off by saying you've come to the right place. There simply is no reason to look any further for chiropractic care. Period. About six years or so ago, I began suffering from two bulging discs in the lower portion of my spine after working for an office environment which demanded an immense amount of stooping, lifting, and pushing heavy boxes of archive files from the ground to the top shelves. I never thought that it was effecting me poorly at the beginning, however, months later, I began to have incredible back pain that would never go away. I could never get comfortable sitting, I had to sleep on my side to get an ounce of relief, and I dreaded the cold-season in its entirety - coughing and sneezing was excruciating to my back. Even things as simple as taking the dogs for a walk I could no longer do without taking a short-cut home because of the pain. Fast forward three years later, I had switched jobs and therefore was not under the same physical demands as the previous one. I did have an on-and-off lower back ache because of the injured disc. On a 'good' day, the pain was noticeable, but tolerable. On a 'bad' day, I couldn't even get off the bed or the couch without help from my husband. My doctor really couldn't do anything. Hyperbaric Treatment for Internal/External Wound Healing In January, 2012, I received horrible news from my doctor: I had rectal cancer. I immediately had a number of surgeries, chemotherapy in March 2012 and directional radiation treatment in April, 2012. Due to the location of my cancer, the radiation treatments damaged my bladder (causing hemorrhagic cystic tumors), and left me with severe lower intestinal cramping. In September of 2013, I received more bad news: I had liver cancer which was immediately treated with microwave ablation. Although my liver cancer was eradicated, my bladder cysts started bleeding. I then underwent internal bladder cauterization three times within 2 months. Still the bladder cystitis bleeding continued, and the doctors could not cauterize my bladder again to stop the bleeding. Per my doctor, my only hope was to stop the bleeding with 40 hyperbaric treatments over a period of 8 weeks. Here in North Carolina, my cost-share would be $10,000.00. Now, the good news! My sister's chiropractor, Dr. Jared Thomas, D.C., Roseville, California, has a hyperbaric chamber for internal/external wound healing, and my cost-share would be a fraction of the original $10,000.00 quote. Within days, I flew to California to immediately begin hyperbaric treatments with Dr. Thomas. Within 2 weeks of treatment, I could feel the cystic tumors shrinking, my bleeding stopped and my pain was diminishing. Now, after 40 treatments, I have tremendous relief. A few years ago I went to Dr. Thomas weekly for adjustments for several months. While his office is professional, I found it incredibly unprofessional of him and awful bedside manner when he told me that my case was hopeless. I kid you not, he told me "I have no hope for you". (I had back pain, that's it, nothing crazy!) What kind of care provider is this?? He could have been honest and just said he didn't know how to help me and that would have been fine. But if my Dr doesn't have any hope for me and actually TELLS me that, how am I supposed to have hope myself?? I found it incredibly disheartening and just an awful thing to say to a patient. Dr. Thomas has got me sleeping in my bed again. For six months, I had trouble sleeping in my bed. I found the 1' mat on the floor much more comfortable, with the exception of my shoulders. After a month of weekly visits, I have been back in the bed sleeping comfortably for almost a year. I missed a few weeks due to illness and found the ache in my lower back returning.
