I hate pain and am a total baby when it comes to dentists. When my dentist told my I needed teeth extracted and mini implants I was scared. Dr. Koffler and his staff pulled me though all the appointments and procedures with such grace and ease. I was amazed. But it wasn't painless and unfortunately 2 of the 4 mini implants weren't able to establish in my jaw bone so they eventually came out. I do NOT blame Dr. Koffler. The pain of an implant breaking and coming out is way worse than having teeth pulled by a professional dentist. Dr. Koffler is very concerned about his patients well being and makes sure to give all his contact information available. I would recommend him to anyone needing his professional expertise.

Dr. Hing and I worked briefly together, years ago and he placed the most perfect crown you could find in my mouth. It was flawless. To Dr. Choi: Well.... he's another unique person: he has hand-delivered to me my invisiline, I lost a set, he had the arduous process of having to re-order these - he goes above and beyond, to ensure that his patients are very well cared for, and for a young dentist, his skills and talents are clearly extraordinary. Dental adventures involving complicated, always expensive and potentially painful experiences are…read moremy mainstay. I thought I had everything done that I could get done until my dentist Dr. Matt Anderson said after I broke a tooth, "You can avoid having a dental implant if you have a crown lengthening. It may even save you a little money and you get to keep your tooth." I Googled it and started to shake, "The bone above the broken tooth is shaved and therefore lengthened to allow a pin and then a crown to be placed." So Dr. Anderson sent me to Dr. Mercedes Heitman in Petaluma for the bone shearing, and gum surgery event. Not gonna lie, I was NOT looking forward to this at all. Plus I read online the "after" experience could be painful. So the extremely good news is that Dr. Mercedes Heitman and her assistant Madelelyn were amazing. The crown lengthening was carried out with utmost skill and care and I did not have one moment of pain during or after the procedure. This team was constantly checking for my comfort level and reaction. And, Dr. Heitman has something not often seen in the dental world: a sharp wit and polished sense of humor. The women who run the office are equally welcoming and efficient. I cannot recommend Dr. Heitman's work highly enough. You are in good hands with her.

I had to speak to the office manager at Petaluma Periodontics. She said she will try to contact my new periodontist, but she was never apologetic. She sounded annoyed by the complaint. Poor customer service.

He knows what he's doing, is very calm, and listens carefully to my concerns and questions. He was recommended by another great dentist I had in Marin (Dr. Jason Herschleb), so when we moved to Petaluma in 2001, I started going to Dr. Barton. I take my kids to Dr. Barton, too, and they LOVE him and love going to get their teeth checked. As a parent, one important goal I had for them was to establish a positive association to dentistry at an early age in order to grow into adulthood with no fear of dentists. So far, so good! Also, I recommended Dr. Barton to a friend of mine who is VERY PICKY about dentists. She has extremely high standards and is very critical of them. She has been very, very happy with Dr. Barton and raves about him any chance she gets.

I had scheduled a free consult after I noticed discoloration on my daughter's front teeth. My baby was really scared and nervous but dr Smida knew just how to calm her down. After the little one visited the treasure chest of toys, dr Smida urged my daughter to sit on my lap in the dental chair. There was a lot of squirming but Dr Smida's gentle persistence got the job done. She said my baby needed crowns & probably needed to be fully sedated because there seemed to be a lot of decay. This news was shocking since I brushed her teeth at least 2 times a day. I was so devastated & emotional but Dr Smida calmed me down, assured me it wasn't my fault & referred me to a pediatric dentist. The pediatric dentist confirmed her assessment of the treatment my daughter needed (4 crowns & full sedation). It was refreshing that Dr Smida's treatment plan was identical to the referred dentist & that she didn't inflate the work that had to be done for her own profit. Because of her honest work ethic and gentle bedside manner, Dr Smida may consider my family & I her new patients!!!!

I was a patient of Ms. Smida when she had her practice in Petaluma at 4th & B. She was sketchy in…read morethe extreme. She did a "root planing" that took all of 20 minutes, did NOT plane at all - just roamed around in my mouth with a pick but charged my insurer for the planing. Then she did a root canal, she made the crown out of some extruded plastic goo that was hardened using UV light, looked pretty cheesey when she did it and sure enough it failed the next day. Was seeing her for 2 years and I gave some serious thought to filing complaints at the time but did not. It utterly destroyed my trust in dentists, I have literally not seen one since and that has been 13 years ago and have broken/missing teeth. This woman is a crook.
