It reminds me of a Tennessee version of the hotels in Dirty Dancing or Somewhere In Time. It's all very romantic! When you're there, you're part if the family. Be prepared to make friends. You'll make friends with the staff, the other guests, the entertainers that play in the entertainment, and even the owner, who walks around all day making sure everything goes as it should. Speaking of the entertainment center, it's called the Ronnie McDowell Entertainment Center, because Ronnie was raised in the area, and you can regularly find him playing there. Other great acts that play there include T Graham Brown, Lee Newton, 2Country 4Nashville, and many more! The price of the show includes dinner, and you won't be disappointed there either! Great Southern specialties like your mama used to make, and lots of it! It's the same with the family style breakfast, that is included in the price of your room. Try the biscuits and chocolate gravy! When you leave the Donaho Hotel, you'll most likely already be talking to your newly made friends, about when you'll be meeting them back there again! Those are all the things that make the Donoho special. Don't come planning to watch TV or play online all day. Come planning to sit in the rocking chairs on the front porch. Come planning to hang out with your new friends, in the period decorated rooms around the lobby, after you've enjoyed your amazing dinner. Whether you come for the scenery, the music, the peace and quiet, the food, or the friendships... you'll find it at the Donoho Hotel. We spent five days there at Christmas, and three at New Years. And loved every second of it!

Make sure you use your Waze app to get here. It is off the beaten path, but it is well worth the trip and I would like to say that it is worth the time too explore. Once you have navigated through your journey, you'll realize that you have come to an oasis that is green and lush and full of forest with nothing other than being surrounded by the sounds of nature, birds, and other. I selected his venue for our 32 year anniversary which did not disappoint. It's a small intimate cabin, however, has all the comforts of home the wifi is super strong and allows you to feel connected, but not so much that your not enjoying your stay. The location affords Nashville transplants or less noise seekers to allow for a brief respite from the noise and nonsense of Nashvegas! Once again Dave was extremely gracious and welcoming and we cherished our time at this great bed and breakfast. Please be advised that this a bed and breakfast and you must realize that others may be in the same structure, however you have ample space for doing your thing. We will certainly be back and we highly recommend this spot to get away.

We got a king suite with jacuzzi. The bed was WONDERFULLY comfortable. The jacuzzi was such a treat. The jets worked as they should. Our walk-in shower is awesome. Mini fridge/microwave worked flawlessly. The pool was small but just what you needed after a hot day. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience from top to bottom. If we come to cave city again, we'll be staying there! Thanks Lena!

They said its…read morebecause I had a pay now and save reservation but why did they not charge it until a month after I made it and a month before staying? I obviously had adequate funds. And why was I not notified? I was a front desk supervisor at a hotel for nine and a half years and it is TERRIBLE customer service to just cancel someone's reservation without telling them. They could have made the situation better by letting me rebook and honoring my original rate but refused leading me to believe the manager is either rude/unaccommodating/lacks basic customer service skills, trained poorly so unable to do a simple fix, or not allowed to make normal management level decisions to fix a problem made by the hotel. Absolutely unacceptable practice and not even a hint of an apology or understanding. The actual front desk worker said he didn't even work at this hotel but was covering because someone didn't show up. He was wearing a hampton or hilton uniform and while he was nice, he wasn't much help. Additionally, the room door had issues latching and locking shut. Had to try multiple times every time we left or returned to make sure it was fully closed because I'd not it could be easily opened without a key. Room itself was ok, some scuffs and stains here and there and a bobby pin left on bathroom floor. Also it has very minimal breakfast (waffles, yogurt, cereal only - no pastries, toast, eggs).
