The Dentist: Dr. Kao is an experienced dentist and readily answer questions or/and provide referrels when needed. If you have a minor cavity, he can sometimes use laser technology to fix it which is much less painful than the regular method. The Staff: The staff at the office includes Julie and Nicole who are easy to interact with. I always feel welcomed at their office. Building: My only recommendation for improvement is that the interior needs to be updated. The entire office is very clean and the wooden floors are up to date. The wall paint, decor, and ceiling, howevering, could use some sprucing up. Also, the outside of the building has a generic "DENTIST" sign on it which could use some brand design updates as well. Parking: There is a large private lot, so parking is not an issue.

I am reviewing for Al since he doesn't do it! Dr. Swantek is caring, personable, kind and a partner in whatever procedure might be needed. His office staff is warm and wonderful too - a good experience. Al is extremely happy with him. Al has had some pain with his teeth in the past six months, and in the first experience Dr. Swantek fitted him in to see him ASAP. The pain went away, but flared up again this past week bigtime. This last week Dr. Swantek was away, but his assistant not only took the message and called Al back ASAP, but also arranged for us to see another excellent dentist in JP. And Al was able to see Dr. S yesterday, and he recommended an Endodontist specialist, Dr. Fitzgerald today, and Al had the root canal. Al is resting comfortably and doing so well, thanks to the joint efforts of all of these great dentists. Now I need to do a review for the kind and gentle attentions of Dr. Swantek's friend from dental school, who was nice enough to see us when Dr. Swantek was out!

That is when he began touching me more than he already was.. on the shoulder and arm and I wasn't sure what was happening. I started bringing a male friend to sit in the waiting room for me but during Covid they did not allow anyone there. I mentioned to an orthodontist he recommended me to (a friend of his from Croatia, they're both from there..) that I was concerned about his "competence" because a crown kept popping off. I didn't mention I felt I was being molested. He told me I should try UIC dental school. He refered me to their specialty dept. (read my other review). He must have told Mitrovic about my "competence" question, and it must have hurt his "feelings" because when one of the fillings he did fell out, I contacted him to put it back, but I was hesitant to go back and be further molested. Yet waiting for UIC was forever and I needed that filling put back. Well, he told his receptionist to let me know he had a skiing accident.It may be true, but I was told he is working with just one hand for just easy cases. Really? He was working with one arm.? This isn't even the dime store dentist, it's the Penny Store.

I received services under false pretenses they knew I believed. (all they had to do was check my file and realize this). Common courtesy is obviously not part of their business ethics. She took a look at the X-rays the other office sent over, said that I was fine and what they were proposing was both odd and not supported by the facts. She saved me over 5k in needless work. I have seen her for emergencies, cleanings and everything in between. She is expert in tmj issues and sensitive to the needs of patients with related problems. I had what I thought was a tmj issue that she examined, she determined it to be a different problem and refered me to follow up with a physician, correctly analyzing something that had been mis-diagnosed previously. Dr. Diachenko is not just a great dentist and a highly knowledgable professional she is also a pleasure to talk to and is a wonderful person. I Can't recommend her enough.

Dr Grimley will recommend what needs to be done but is not forceful ever. No one in my family has ever had a bad experience and if you do the math that would span over 200+ visits for a family of 5 going twice a year. I'd say that's a pretty good average. They do a good job and have made good recommendations for oral surgeons, etc. My brother and sister continue to go here even after moving away as we love the care Dr. Grimley and his staff give us. The receptionist assured me that the second visit will cost me nothing - the total cost has been paid in the first visit. Fast-forward to 2016, I get a call from a collection agency about a balance due at the end of 2014. All of my calls and e-mails to Bucktown Dental have been ignored or "their billing person is unavailable". I feel this is highly unprofessional and unethical.
