Excellent service and staff. This was my first dentist visit in some years and was recommended by a friend and a family member. I was so nervous but De. Dodson was very patient with me . Great bedside manner and good energy in the staff. I had to visit 2 consecutive days but was pleased with the outcome. My teeth no longer are inflamed and are super comfortable. I can actually eat on my right side . Had a horrible experience at a well known chain dentistry I will not mention so I was very anxious. However I felt at ease from the moment I stepped in from the friendly receptionist, to the patient doctor and assistant. The dental hygienist was amazing. Really Great Dentist! Yep, I know, no one like dentists, unless one just happens to be your Dad or Brother. But Dr. Dodson is neither to me. He is just a really good, kind and knowledgable dentist. Since I moved away, I have on several occasions considered returning to his office to get him to do some of my dental work. And since the office is on the other coast from where I live . . . . that's how good he is. I miss him desperately! My dentist here is ok, but I do not feel like the dental service compares to what I received in Roswell. His office is bright and cheerful. His staff is professional and friendly. Their service is efficient and, without a doubt some of the best customer service I have experienced in any business. So . . . fillings or just a check-up & cleaning . . . check out this dentist. I love this dentists office. The woman at the front desk (Anne I think) is very knowledgeable and friendly. I am a broke college student and she is always trying to save me money. The oral hygienist (Polish woman) is gentle, and very professional. Most relaxing cleaning I have ever had. I have seen Dr. Dodson briefly but he seems generally friendly and down to earth. I saw Dr. Dodson over 2 years ago for a basic extraction and had no trouble. So when another tooth was starting to give me trouble I went to him. He told me that I needed a root canal, but he could not do it and referred me to a specialist who is a friend of his. After the root canal, I had lots of pain and a bump appeared on my gum. I went to Dr. Dodson and after seeing my mouth he told me that it was okay and that the pain was usual. I had had root canals done before and knew it wasn't but no one else wanted to see me since the work was already done. When the bump moved up my gum and pushed through the incision from where the other tooth was extracted puss came out. I immediately went to Dr. Dodson and showed him pictures I took and told him what had happened. He accused me of cutting my gum open and causing the issue. I was floored and upset and lost it telling him that it was crazy to think like that. He then refused to see me anymore. I continued to have issues but didn't know why. Last week I saw another dentist (yes 2 years later, it took this long before I would trust another one). He showed me on the x-ray that my root canal was never closed and that since it left an open hole directly to my gum that was why I kept getting infections. He also told me that this wasn't something any dentist could miss. I was furious! 2 years later and I am still dealing with the care I got with Dr. Dodson!! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Dodson for over a decade. He has the best bedside manner of any dentist that I have seen. He constantly reviews my dental work to make sure I am in excellent shape. He is also one of the most honest dentists I have ever seen and his staff reflects his caring and empathy perfectly. If you are looking for a great dentist and a fantastic caring individual he is your best choice. Recently I had moved to Chicago for a year and the dentist up there looked in my mouth and raved about the quality of his work--so it's not just me that thinks he's great. read more

Unfortunately, not everyone has had a good experience with dentists, and this is "that" kind of review. I have been lucky most of my life to have been blessed with strong teeth, and generally good oral hygiene. Not great mind you.. but I do my best. I went to Dodson on a referral because I was in so much pain I could hardly move. (yes a toothache can do this) I had already lost time at work due to the pain and went to get X-rays and whatever else I could afford to get, just to find out that I needed $800.00 worth of teeth cleaning, a mouth guard @ $400.00, and MORE EXCRUCIATING PAIN. The hygienist insulted me with this.. "you're long in the tooth" (her exact words) and told me this type of "deep cleaning" was going to be very painful and expensive. It took 2 visits for the cleaning, and then another for the mouth guard (NOT CHEAP!). The actual issue I went in for was never addressed (other than a Root Canal) which seems to be ripe with issues, and a suggestion that I might have TMJ. After another month of mind-numbing pain, I decided to throw down "top dollar" and go see Goldstein and Garber. They immediately found the problem, extracted the dead tooth and I was out and pain-free that day. So for $200.00 LESS than the whole fiasco at Dr. Dodson's office, I can not recommend them and won't. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Dodson for 13 years and never had a problem. Then suddenly he went ape-shit because I had new insurance and his staff didn't file the paperwork timely. As a result I was late paying the bill. He sent me handwritten threat letters and his staff constantly harassed me. I won't go back to this guy again. He doesn't appreciate his customers. More importantly, his accounting staff are dishonest and manipulative. They waited 6 months before filing my claims and then filed them all at once, and accused me of not paying almost immediately. My belief is that his staff is lying to him....which may account for his behavior. But who knows. read more

Dr. Dodson has been my dentist for about 10 years. He has done my crowns, cleanings and fillings. He has a very relaxing, comfortable office, nicely decorated like a spa that looks out into the woods. His staff are very friendly, down to earth and professional, just like him, so it feels like I'm visiting friends when I go there. Nobody wants to go to the dentist, but if you have to go, he'll take good care of you. read more

This place is great. The office is very nice and calming. Margaret is my dental hygienist and she is wonderful. She is very gentle and quick, but very thorough. She is also very sweet and always give great tips on how to treat your mouth better. She makes my visits very pleasant. I have never met a more wonderful person to work on my teeth. I only see Dr. Dodson briefly at the end of my visits and he is very friendly and relaxed. I love this dentist office! read more

Debbie gave me a very gentle and thorough cleaning and Dr. Dodson took time to talk about my dental health, x-rays, etc. There was no up-sell for dental procedures or products I don't need and no payment expected up front before insurance is filed (unlike my previous dentist). I chipped my front tooth bad last weekend playing basketball. I called Dr. Dodson's office on Monday and saw him Tuesday morning. He was able to bond it to look exactly like my other front tooth. It's impossible to tell that I had ever chipped it. Any other dentist would have had me get a whole crown done, which would have cost a lot more and taken many hours and possibly multiple visits. Dr. Dodson fixed me up in an hour and I didn't even have to take off work. He and his office staff are professional and treat you like a patient instead of a number. I have been to many other dental offices who made me wait forever, went through their routines and tried to charge me for procedures I didn't need. DO NOT go to this dentist! Upon moving to Roswell, I went to see Dr. Dodson for a routine cleaning. I have always had my teeth cleaned every 6 months, and my dentist back home made sure that my teeth were in tip-top shape before I moved. Enter Thomas Lee Dodson. I had JUST finished telling him that I was looking for an honest dentist, one who wouldn't say that I needed unnecessary dental work. Just as soon as those words left my mouth, he tells me that I need every tooth in my mouth capped! He had to be joking...but no, he was serious. I told him that my teeth weren't bothering me, and that my dentist back home made sure that my teeth were in immaculate condition before I moved. He said "sorry, but you need every tooth capped. Now, we won't do them all at once, but we should start immediately." THEN he tells me that he's going to send me to another dentist for a second opinion, and he hands me the other dentist's business card, and says he will call and give the other guy a heads up that I'll be coming to him for another opinion. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?! If I had believed him for even a second that I needed any dental work done, I still wouldn't have gone to his FRIEND for a second opinion. I told him that I would not be going to this friend of his for a 2nd opinion, and yes, I'm sure he would have called him to "give him a heads up." He obviously took me for a complete moron. I have since gone to another dentist for a routine cleaning, Dr. Grove, and without telling him about my Dr. Dodson experience, he examined my teeth and said that they look great! I asked, "So, I don't need every tooth in my mouth capped, huh?" and Dr. Grove looked at me as though I were crazy and said, "No, of course not - why?" My experience with Dr. Dodson was extremely disappointing. He is a flat out liar, and all I can assume is that he has a new vacation home he is trying to pay off. read more
