I feel I was scammed out of 2200 dollars. They not only drilled a hole in my roof, it caused water to come thru the ceiling in my bedroom and then started coming thru my wall around the electrical outlet and told me it was no problem. A day later the socket burned out, caused electrical work and they wouldn't acknowledge it. They told me raccoons had come through the Eve's of my home and the older man said not only do they carry rabies but I had to be worried about getting hanta virus.(lie) also, told they couldn't quote me a price up front because it depended on how many units of polymorph they would need to use and it cost 125 dollars a unit. I looked it up and polymorph is not even measured in units. While the older man was in the house writing up the contract, all of a sudden he said he guessed it would be about 17 units, just out of the blue and with that the younger man came in and said low and behold it took 18 units. WOW how about that! Don't use these people. They don't care they took advantage of an almost 80 year old woman, who suffered a stroke and has very little Money left to live on. Alex Reid, aka, Alexander Reid Roofing. working under the contractor license for Thomas Parks Contracting, in early in 2022, suggested replacing just the missing shingles, sealing the cracks around the pipes, and applying a roof coating that would seal the shingled roof with a 10-year warranty and it would cost a fraction of a new roof. He completed the roof repair. Do not let Alex talk you into the white coating material called, elastomatic, to "seal" asphalt shingles to extend the life of the roof. It doesn't work, in my experience. The coating material is really for a flat commercial roof or metal roof for a mobile home. I wish I saw the TV commercials for the Roof Maxx treatment before I hired Alex. Roof Maxx uses a natural treatment material sprayed on the shingles that is designed to protect, restore, and rejuvenate asphalt shingles to extend the life of a roof by 5 years for a fraction of the cost of a roof replacement. You can extend the life of the roof up to 15 years with multiple treatments. The Elastomatic coating material Alex applied only lasted 2 years before a leak occurred in the bedroom. In February of 2024, Alex did come out to add another layer of coating material to the shingles above the bedroom area and replace shingles that were not held down by the coating. Then I called in February 2025 about a leak still occurring in the same spot in the bedroom. Alex refused to repair, despite a 10-year warranty. He only wants to replace the roof. Our handyman neighbor repaired the exposed roof paper with a waterproof membrane, replaced missing shingles, and applied the elastomatic material. The ceiling did not leak with the repair made when it rained in late February. Something Alex refused to do under warranty. read more

We hired this company in 2021 to paint our exterior trim and doors as well as almost entire interior. It was a large bid and was told they could be done in a few weeks. It took one for the exterior with me pointing out areas missed. 5 more for interior. The son oldest Thomas Jr met with us. We trusted him and felt comfortable. He's a very nice gentleman. I believe the sons are currently running this business, not the father. These guys clearly have no idea what they are doing and had no workers. The three sons were never on the same page and contradicted each other. Middle son yelled at me inside my own home over paint type and I had to ask him to leave. He never apologized. He argued that matte and flat paint were the same and satin and eggshell were the same. They are not at all. So I did not get the paint type I wanted and they should know better. If a client asks for satin, give them satin. He showed me a paint can that said "mate" (flat in Spanish!) and thought that was the same as matte (two t's). He was very rude about it all. Their worker (yes one) who was very slow and made a LOT of mistakes. He was caught talking about me in Spanish (I speak some too!). They never covered my things and got paint on them. They did not cover the ceiling fans so there was paint all over the blades. They did not cover light switches so I got tired of it and removed and taped them myself. Doorknobs were painted around. He even painted around a wreath door hanger on one exterior door. I pointed out it needed to come off and he still was too lazy. They sanded my beautifully stained front door so there were clear spots where it looked like a different shade (pictured). I even told them NO SANDPAPER. I was really mad. It took them weeks to fix that and kept saying they would do it later so I had to look at it for over a month. They wanted to rearrange my entire inside and every bedroom making it unlivable for weeks saying they would do it all at once but they were so slow, rooms sat untouched, dirty and unlivable until I told them no more. I have three children so these rooms are not empty. I had no kitchen to eat in. Everything was a mess all at once. I made them do one room at a time because I was sick of it. They had ONE guy alone painting our entire house 80% of the time. It took six weeks!!! They took a week off during Thanksgiving and came late but were mad when I gave them a deadline for Christmas so I could enjoy my home for a week. I wanted them to take a break so I could live in my house for the holidays and that seems to be a lot to ask for even though they had plenty of time to finish. It was so stressful. We ended up agreeing to pay less and them never come back. My husband had had enough of the disrespectful attitudes and poor work that he was fixing. There are tons of patches on my walls you can clearly see through the paint because they did not even bother to blend it. They forgot to put studs in behind drywall they were installing in one wall (closing up a built in shelf area). My husband had to call them out on it and so they had to tear it all out and redo it. Ridiculous. They didn't clean up ever or put up plastic to keep the dust and debris in the room being worked on. The sand would blow through the whole house. Daily I would have to mop and sweep the entire house and finally had to leave for a weekend because it was way too dusty. I was coughing. This was the most unprofessional job ever. We picked the colors but not the type of paint so they bought the cheapest paint ever. Don't let them pick your paint! Get satin if you want satin, etc. They bought the cheapest paint available so it sucks. This paint is peeling and it took 3 coats to even cover light colored walls. So the time it took was their own fault. Some spots needed more and they would get mad when I asked them to put more on. We did so much prep work ourselves and I paid for my house to get cleaned so I could breathe. Middle brother is mouthy and rude. He has a temper. Oldest never came back to help. Youngest watched the job get farther behind and wouldn't pick up a paint brush until the last week and they wanted money from us. When asked why they won't paint, no answer. The brother who would not bother to apologize sat outside in the work truck ALL DAY and did no work to help speed it up. He should have never argued with me and raised his voice to me. My son got home soon after and was really mad. All he had to do is apologize. Here's some pics of their awful work. We should have gotten a bigger discount. Be careful and very specific on your contracts about your expectations and I suggest you buy your own paint. I wanted to like this family business so much. They need to learn and do better. Please DO NOT do business with this company. Alex the son came to look at our roof. He was very nice and helpful... or so I thought. He then said our tarped roof at insurance request has caused more damage. He ripped it and tore it so roof could air out he said He said he could fix leak and deal with our insurance and got me to send all my insurance information over to him. We texted back and forth for a couple of days. Then no response. His phone rings off, can't leave a message. The main business line - no answer. Since then there has been rain and a leak in our house damaging work we just got fixed. So So upset. Please save yourself from frustration extra expense and wasting your time. read more

Just got our house painted, after purchasing a deal on Angie's List. Thomas runs a family operation, and I have to say they did a great job. Not only did they explain everything in great detail in advance, they stuck to their word and came within budget. They had a lot of work to do aside from painting, including rebuilding window sills, patching cracked plaster, and fixing lots of wood trim. Made the house look great. What I like most was the good communication, and the little touches. For example, we have a long, straight driveway. Due to misunderstanding on my family's part, my baby (my newer, black convertible) was left in the driveway right next to the house and garage. (On the day the paint was being sprayed, no less.) I was stuck at work, stressing out, and kind of kicking myself for not moving the car. Instead of being mad at us for making their job harder (since they had to dance around the car all day) ,when I got home, I saw thay Thomas and his crew had covered the entire car with heavy duty plastic, and had even taped it down to ensure that not even a hint of paint had gotten onto my car. Another example. I was doing some gardening over the weekend and found a large weather-beaten piece of wood on the back yard. At first, I couldn't figure out what it was. Then it hit me-it was part of an exterior door covering the water heater enclosure on the side of the house that nobody sees. They had, without asking, reconstructed and painted this door which to me showed attention to detail and a good work ethic. That is probably generous for this vendor. I bought a deal off of Angie's list for gutter cleaning and it was a total bust! First, I paid and sent the email to schedule service. Didn't hear back and my dates came and went. Left two voicemail messages and then decided to follow up with Angie's list to complain. Then like a miracle the owner called and told me he didn't realize his phone voice Mail wasn't working. He said he could get to me in about three weeks. Bummer but I complied. Then like another miracle he called one afternoon and asked if he could come by and do the work that day. I said no one would be home for about an hour and he asked if it would be ok to start with no one home. I said sure. Well when my wife got home he was no where to be found but left his card. Long story short he said that the deal I got would only do 150 feet of gutters and to do the rest of the house would be another $179. I measured where he cleaned with a tape measure and it was 60 feet not 150. And he threw all the gutter garbage in my planters. Terrible work, terrible service and a total ripe off. A thorough job was done on our home roof as well as garage and the cleaning of the rain gutters was excellent. The thing I liked the most about this company was the clear explanation of what Thomas was going to do for the money requested and the sense of real honesty I got from Thomas. This review is for Alex (son) We hired "Thomas Parks roofing" to replace our roof because we liked his "honesty", when we got the estimate. We ended paying a little more than other estimates we got, (we thought it was worth it) We did our whole roof + insulation on 2 areas as well. Unfortunately, once the job was getting done we noticed one side was done very quickly (we were home at the time) then, we asked the workers if insulation was installed on that one side, they said "NO our boss (Alex) just ordered to install it on one side, he just brought 300 sq ft" We asked, how many sq. ft. are you installing? he said 200 + LESS  than what we're paying and added to the roof contract. We immediately tried to contact Alex, he was not getting back to us. Finally he called back, we asked why he was NOT adding insulation to the other side as we agreed on the contract. He blamed it on the workers. - Then why he didn't buy the amount of insulation we agreed and were paying for?- We didn't like that at all! Then he apologized and said he was going to make it up to us adding an extra solar vent which it was never installed, we texted him asking about it, he said he never said that, ugh! (We should of learned and ask for it in writing) My review is to advise you to make sure you check the work while it's getting done (if possible) they charge good amount of money then they try to save/make as much as they can. I hired Mr. Parks to inspect my roof after concerns of possible invisible leaks and a few visible signs of that caused concern, mainly around the garage. Mr. Parks inspected the roof, validated my concerns. Mr. Park's replaced the ridge caps on the house and garage, located the issue caused by a former contractor who glued tiles down and filled gaps with foam, causing water from the leaky ridge caps to back up and run down the interior wall of the garage wall. After repairing the roof, we had Mr. Park's seal the roof to help extend it's life and I must say, I just sprayed water on the roof the other day to check run off for my patio roof and the sealant applied by Thomas Parks Contracting works great. Water did not soak into the tiles but instead it ran right off of the roof and we no longer have bits of the tiles running off with the water. Also, while on the roof of the house, Mr. Park's took photos of my fireplace and showed me the cracks and where flashing was missing. I had not been on the house roof (afraid of heights), but I was aware of some cracks in the fireplace at ground level. Mr. Park's returned about a week later to fix the fireplace and then I also had him spray the fireplace with sealant as well. The price he charged for both jobs was very reasonable, (less than I anticipated), he showed up on time, and when he arrived to repair the fireplace, no one was home. He arrived, did the repairs, sealed the fireplace and was cleaning up when I got home. I truly appreciate the fact that Mr. Parks had no problem making the repairs he made rather than attempting to sell me a new roof that I could not afford and that I do not need. Two other contractors told me I needed a new roof before they even got on a ladder, I already went to the city and pulled previous permits so I would know how old the roof truly was and what type of roofing material was used. I knew It still had some good life to it and Mr. Parks validated that knowledge. Lastly, some dirt particles of the roof shingles ended up on my neighbors driveway and in their back yard, Thomas made a point to go over to the neighbors yard and sweep up the mess. read more
