You know what? If you need some outdoor time but don't want muddy nature trails, this is for you. All paved path with offshoot that goes around a wee pond. Sure there are some uneven spots, some are currently marked by orange cones. They have a few EV stations at the entrance that I saw (there may be more elsewhere in the park, but I didn't particularly seek them out). If you're trekking with littles, there is a small spot that you'll cross the entrance to the park if you're doing the full loop as All Trails has it, but it's doable. It's about 1.5 miles around. They have an off leash dog run/walk. It's near two (maybe more) residential areas so I bet this park gets busy when the weather is good--it seemed so when I went (2/28/2023). I'd go again. It's definitely an easy stroll; no hills and with the exception of crossing the street for the loop, no real challenges. read more

Beautiful park. I absolutely loved the dog park area! Open areas with walkways as well as wooded areas of which part has cement walkways and parts or more nature trails areas. They also have watering areas and free poop bags and trash cans on outer areas for dogs and for humans they have ports-potties. Best free dog park in KC area that I've been to and I've been to quite a few. read more

I fly fish a lot, and any place I can drop a nymph, or strip a wholly, I'm there. T.S. Stoll as I call it has the goods, nearly. A tiny toilet bowl of a water feature that sometimes I feel I shouldn't be fishing in, but I've caught about 20 bluegill, so...it works? An absolute fabulous dog park and 1.5 playgrounds surrounded by shelters make this a definite stop for most families. It's rather large, and has lots of walking space with, I believe, a few fields for sport. I wouldn't know, because I'm not the sporty type. Of the playgrounds, the main one is wonderful. It's huge, and diverse. I go there a lot. In the summers, the fields are great for picnics, and it's close to most. It can be a busy place, however, so plan for that if you're looking for peace and quiet on an otherwise ideal day. Pretty great walking path too, and a hop and skip from Quivira park, with it's sand volleyball court. Worth a stop! read more

Brought my small dog here on a recommendation. Might be OK for big dogs who have a huge fenced area. Small dog area was tiny and covered with dog poop. The "grass" was sticker- filled weeds where it wasn't dirt or mud. Filthy water dishes that were empty and beat up. The park itself is fine but won't bring a dog back here. read more

What a fun park! I came here to take a walk since the weather was so nice in the middle of winter. I'm a huge doggo fan so I walked inside the offleash dog park to watch all the puppers run around. The experience was great! Everyone was pretty civil and handled their own dogs well. I caught one that escaped outside the gates, but everyone was helpful in getting the dog back inside. I also walked around the smaller lake across the dog park. Next time, I will stroll a little further down the road and path. read more

I wish there were some more sidewalks along the main road going into the park, but overall I love this part. I don't live far from here and can walk to the park with my dogs. I love that they have a dog park in the dog park not only has an open grassy area but I also had a walking trail around it. All of the owners here are typically very nice and watch over their dogs well. The dog park does have a side intended for small dogs inside intended for large dogs which is nice. They also have a nice little playground that they are updating as well to include an area for smaller younger children. The park as well kept and has a wonderful trail to walk on the outside of it. read more

This beautiful, peaceful park is bordered by houses to the east and west, and JCCC to the north. This appears to be a local bird haven. Their appealing calls are everywhere. The enclosed off leash dog park section is a big draw, but I also like the beautiful lake, the playground, the wooded areas, the picnic areas, the walking paths, and the seven game fields. Restroom facilities, plenty of parking, and a drinking fountain are also available. The park is named after a former chairman of the Parks & Rec board of commissioners. Frodo and I had fun today at the Thomas S Stoll park. It's very nice, smaller than Shawnee Mission park and no pond to scare/upset Frodo, who hates water. He loved it. The dog park is a big meadow, with some brush and trees along the west side, with a walking trail that's graveled so not too muddy in most parts. I brought water per earlier reviews, but there is a drinking fountain installed at the NE corner. Frody isn't quite sure about larger dogs, but actually did play a little with some other well-behaved doggies. He spent most of his time motoring around the perimeter, and crashing through the brush, he was really excited about that. I live near this park and am sorta mad at myself for not finding it before now. We will be back often. read more

Who let the dogs out?? I have no idea but they are out in full force at Stoll Park. This is a great little hidden gem in Overland Park. It is a wonderful little park in the middle of a busy city neighborhood near one of the busiest intersections in town. I do not have a dog so it does not really have meaning for me that this is a dog park. I go to Stoll to have a few quiet moments of reflection in my busy day. I enjoy the peace and quiet this part provides. I also like the opportunity this park gives me to be close to nature. This park is busy but never crowded, if that makes sense. I've been here early in the morning and it is a great place to relax and prepare mentally for my day. It's nice to just sit back and relax with a cup of coffee and see the morning unfold. I am fortunate in that I work right around the corner from Stoll. This is also a I've park to take a walk and unwind. It is always clean and the people that go here are friendly. Highly recommended even if you don't have a dog! read more

Contained dog exercise off leash park small enough you can keep a eye on your dog fairly easy and find them again if they run away in a few minutes as it's not super big like Shawnee Mission Dog Park (SMDP), but it's not big enough like SMDP to go on any prolonged walk or exploring with your dog. There's some trees and brush with trails to the west that's fun to walk through and small enough and contained with fences to keep your dog from running away or escaping. The south part is more remote than the north part, which might be less safe on days the part isn't super busy. The park police patrol the parking lot at times but the signs still warn of theft so be sure you don't leave any valuables not locked up on your trunk. This is a 30 minute park in that you can come and go fairly quick and it is close on the city to more people. The SMDP is more a hour or two park as it is so big and more remote and a drive as such getting a dog there and then to go back home is more of a ordeal. Until I had my dog trained to stay close and come back this was the park I went to most, and in the cold and winter I go here more often as it's more efficient than SMDP. They are also opening or soon will or may have opened the south side with a sidewalk of which no other dog parks have in the area that I know about. The north side has a dog water fountain open in spring and summer and fall, but it is not on when it is cold. When you first enter in the north part the dogs gather there and can be aggressive. I take my dog on the leash past them at times as some of the dogs there at times are too aggressive and shouldn't be there as they are not socialize well. This park is bigger and not as bad as Leawood Dog park where the dogs are more aggressive and out of control. If you go on the south side as the far south it is more remote and few dogs are there so your dog will not have such a crazy first entry to the park. read more

Love this park! I've been coming here since my now 3.5yr old was a 4mo old puppy! A lot of regulars come here! They've recently expanded the park and makes such a difference in how big it feels now! They put a large fence up in the middle with gates Ive never seen closed so I'm not really sure the purpose of them. I'm not a fan of how this fence goes all the way through the walking path in the back where all the trees are, but oh well. I'm a fan of this park mainly for location and the fact that there's no water for my dog to get muddy from like other dog parks nearby. There's also a soccer field, park, and lots of paths to walk/bike next to the dog park. Also, they expanded parking which was very much needed! read more

It's not the biggest dog park in the county, but I needed to take my dog somewhere without a body water so he didn't get muddy. Of course, he found the ONLY mud hole in the place. We still enjoyed the park. They provided doggie bags and there's a short trail on the backside to take the dog. It's wide open for playing fetch and benches for sitting to chat. It's a nice little place to stop in and let your dog roam! read more

Idyllic suburban park just south of Johnson County Community College. There is a small playground and a small lake along with a fenced in off-leash dog park. A paved trail surrounds the park, the west side winds through a lovely prairie-like area and the east side runs alongside large mowed fields. There are bathrooms and athletic fields near the parking area. I visited early on a weekday so the park was pretty empty, but I imagine that it is jumpin on a weekend afternoon. This review is for the dog park. Definitely bring your own water...you don't necessarily need your own dish, but if your dog uses someone else's bowl, it's nice that you can replenish their water. And bring more than you think you need! Those dogs go crazy and they get thirsty fast! This is an amazing place to take your dog. We have a 5yo Sheltie and he absolutely loves it! We lived in an apartment near Stoll Park and now we're much closer to Shawnee Mission Park but we still go to Stoll Park. My pup's not much of a water dog which SM Park seems to be more tailored to, still great, just better for dogs that love the water. We love coming here and yes, we just let him loose and we walk around. It's not difficult to keep track of your dog, the off-leash area is not large and there's a wooded area to be explored as well. And please...have the decency to bring a couple poo bags and clean up after your dog :D read more

Though Stoll Park isn't as large as other parks in the area, it is a great place to get away with your dog and run around in a safe and well fenced location. The dog park is only one piece of the park, however. Soccer fields, a small walking trail and a shelter are also within the boundaries. Most people come here for the off leash dog park, though. It's a a large fenced in area with plenty of open space, a trail that runs through the woods, and lots of opportunities for socializing with other dogs. We've never run into any trouble here with other dogs, but every once in a while you'll see a note on the fence that the OP Police Department is looking for a certain dog or owner that hurt another dog or owner. Common sense reigns supreme here. Poop bags are provided - use them. Watch out for landmines, and always ask if you can pet another person's dog. read more

Awesome park for soccer games. The grass is kept in very good condition. It's also not as crowded with kids league games, so the average crowd actually has a chance to kick around on a field with actual goals. Unfortunately I don't have a dog. But if I did, the adjacent dog park would probably be one of my favorite places to bring a dog. Tond of running space, and the regulars actually do a really good job of picking up after their dogs. It may be listed as a dog park, but there is oh so much more to it. I've never actually brought my dog to this park because he doesn't like other dogs. But I digress. I go running in this park, and for that it's great. I live down 116th across Pflumm, so I usually end up coming down 116th in to the park from the west side. From there, you can split in to a few directions. Go north, towards JCCC, and there are several baseball and soccer fields. If you're running or walking, you can just cross straight through in to JCCC and take advantage of their roads for running without having to go in boring circles around the park. Go south, and you end up at what appears to be a large dog park, and there are also one or two paths through some trees that is nice. Go straight, and there is a small pond/lake, and some picnic areas. Right up along 119th Street, there are a couple more soccer fields. On weekends, it looks like it could get pretty busy, especially with those playing soccer and baseball. I have never driven here, but parking isn't a lot and I could see it getting a bit tight...but I would like to think there are lots of neighborhood people who walk here. Who knows if that's true. All in all - a nice little park to go walking or running in! read more

My review is for the dog park, but there's also a walk-about lake, kids playground, and kids soccer field. Now the dog park... It's a fenced in area about the size of a football field. The dogs are free to run and socialize or fetch. There is a wood line on the west side of the park, which is cut with many trails. Behind the woods is a gravel path that circumvents the west side of the park. People often walk this path with or without their dogs. I used to take my dog to Shawnee Mission dog park, which is cool, but she really enjoys this place better. She's really come out of her shell and has begun to socialize and really get some good exercise. We've had no aggressive dog incidents here, so I think that's a lot of stress relief for her. read more

While the sign on the fence clearly says "no pit bulls," I'd prefer it say "no irresponsible humans." The dog park itself is pretty nice, although it's small with only a long, narrow wooded area at the back. Recently, the large ditch that used to hold water and cause a giant muddy mess was filled in, so that is great. It is also securely fenced. The downside is that the small size of this park seems to result in people just turning their dogs loose while the people hang out at the gate. In other words, they aren't supervising their dogs and certainly aren't cleaning up after them either. It may be that the same amount of poop is laying around at other dog parks and this one just seems poopier because of it's all condensed by the small size of the park, but either way it seems like less gets picked up here. It also seems like we have seen more incidents between dogs here. The rest of the park outside the dog park fence is very nice. read more

I decided to try this park out on a mild February day. I arrived in the afternoon and parked near the doggie park. I can definitely see why so many reviews are focused on this aspect of the park! The enclosed dog park is a large area and there were a lot of dogs frolicking around. However, my visit was to try out the paved trails for a run. I found the trail to be somewhat confusing, as there are several routes and it is not particularly well-marked. The trail has a few small breaks where it is unclear where the trail continues. I did figure it out, but wish it was marked more clearly. I also would like if there were distance trail markers, which I did not notice. I did appreciate that there are entrances to neighborhoods adjacent to the park. I ventured into one neighborhood and enjoyed admiring the architecture. The actual loop around the park is not huge, probably about a mile or so. I enjoyed the visit, and will definitely be back to this park for future runs! read more

One of two dog parks about equal distance from me. The dog park here is smaller than other area dog parks, but there is still ample room to enjoy with your pet. It can get a little busy in the evening, but during the day it is quite nice and not super busy. Part of the walking trail goes back through a wooded area. I have noticed that there seems to be more smaller dogs at this park also. The park also has some nice walking trails outside of the dog area. The trails are combined with trails at JCCC. For the most part they are nice trails, but a few years ago while Geocaching on one back in the JCCC field area, someone from a neighboring home threatened to shoot his neighbors barking dogs. I am thinking they aren't very friendly neighbors and probably not fans of the walking trails so I now stay away from that area. ;) It also includes soccer and ball fields, picnic shelters, a small lake, playground area, and a lot of places to throw a frisbee, spread out a blanket, or whatever you choose to enjoy the day. Parking can get a little tedious and cars will line up along the roads. Overall a nice little city park, but can get really busy. read more

Great park! Just 5 minutes walking distance from my neighborhood in kimberly downs. Has a playground for my little one, a nice pond, that used to be stocked with some big catfish, not sure anymore as I haven't fished there in a while. Great place to walk your dog as well with a pretty good sized dog park, half wooded and half field. Good place to ride your bike, or have a run. Also has some baseball fields and a soccer field. A nice trail runs between the park and the JCCC that I discovered recently. read more

I have brought my dog here multiple times over the past year - it is a beautiful park, great lay out with lots of space and water! However, I won't bring my dog here again. The last 2-3 times I've brought her there have been *very* aggressive dogs present. My dog is not aggressive by any stretch of the imagination, and did nothing to warrant being rolled over and growled (not playfully) at, one dog even attempted to go for her neck. Another guy and myself had to work to pull these dogs off of ours. I left so angry and almost in tears - these pet owners didn't seem to see the problem either. These dogs were doing this to more than just mine and his as well. Unfortunate as I loved this park before, but then again, I had seen an aggressive dog here or there on previous occasions as well. This was the last straw though. Once is enough, but the fact that this has happened more than that is alarming. We go to Leawoof now at least once per week - not once have we had any issues with aggressive dogs there. Not sure how this issue can be addressed, but for goodness sake - if you know your dog does not play well with others, a large bark park is not the best place to take them to play or attempt to teach them too. read more

The park isn't huge but it is completely fenced in which is great because my dog LOVES to run. There's always other dogs so she gets her socializing in as well. My favorite part about this off leash dog park is the owners. Everyone I've met is is really nice and pretty dog savvy. No one freaks out when their dogs are approached by other dogs...my dog can totally sense when the other dog's owner is nervous. Makes her nervous too so she tries to impress everyone with her tricks. It gets a little crowded when it's nice out but I'm sure the dogs love that. The fountain doesn't work but it could just be turned off for the winter. Oh, and bring your own poop bags, the box is always empty. read more

I like the dog park here. I have a puppy, so the smaller fenced in area is perfect for me. If she runs off, it's okay, because she's not getting far. We go here whenever the weather is nice because it's pretty close to where we live. There are always plenty of dogs which is good for socializing my scared-of-dogs-thinks-she's-a-person puppy. read more

This park is nice because there is a side walk trail that goes around the park so you can watch your pooch play without having to be all in the grass. It's large enough to have plenty of room for your dog to run, but not too big where you're stuck looking for you dog. 10/10 recommend. read more

Can get muddy in spots after rainy days, not everyone 'cleans up' after their pups so that can be a problem but the open areas and trails for the dogs to play in makes up for it!
