    Dog park

Nice dog park fully fenced in. Most people are nice. Very few issues here with going on a daily basis.

I wish there were some more sidewalks along the main road going into the park, but overall I love this part. I don't live far from here and can walk to the park with my dogs. I love that they have a dog park in the dog park not only has an open grassy area but I also had a walking trail around it. All of the owners here are typically very nice and watch over their dogs well. The dog park does have a side intended for small dogs inside intended for large dogs which is nice. They also have a nice little playground that they are updating as well to include an area for smaller younger children. The park as well kept and has a wonderful trail to walk on the outside of it.

This beautiful, peaceful park is bordered by houses to the east and west, and JCCC to the north. This appears to be a local bird haven. Their appealing calls are everywhere. The enclosed off leash dog park section is a big draw, but I also like the beautiful lake, the playground, the wooded areas, the picnic areas, the walking paths, and the seven game fields. Restroom facilities, plenty of parking, and a drinking fountain are also available. The park is named after a former chairman of the Parks & Rec board of commissioners. Don't miss this one.

Frodo having fun in the brush at Stoll dog park

Frodo and I had fun today at the Thomas S Stoll park. It's very nice, smaller than Shawnee Mission park and no pond to scare/upset Frodo, who hates water. He loved it. The dog park is a big meadow, with some brush and trees along the west side, with a walking trail that's graveled so not too muddy in most parts. I brought water per earlier reviews, but there is a drinking fountain installed at the NE corner. Frody isn't quite sure about larger dogs, but actually did play a little with some other well-behaved doggies. He spent most of his time motoring around the perimeter, and crashing through the brush, he was really excited about that. I live near this park and am sorta mad at myself for not finding it before now. We will be back often.

(4th review of 2022)…read more Wifey & I love this park! It's wide open & paved trails around the lake. People that frequent the park are nice. We laugh every time we go there when it's freezing cause we see all the rocks scattered on the top of the ice on the lake. I guess people try to toss rocks on the frozen lake to find out how big & how far they can toss the rock. Hahaha. I'm kinda tempted to try that the next time. They do have an area by the entrance of the parking lot where you can pile up real Christmas trees after the holidays. Not sure what they do with them afterwards, but it's cool that they have a drop off area. When we dropped off our 2.5' tree there was at least a 5' high & 15' wide pile. I was laughing cause our dinky lil tree was so manini (small) compared to the others that were about 6-8' tall. Aside from the trails & Christmas tree drop off, this is a perfect parking lot to learn to drive in snow... as I found out the hard way. Hehehe... nervous giggling. Never driven in snow before & it's waaay different that driving on rain soaked roads. Well, hope to get back to the beautiful park soon. A Hui Hou!!

Got to even attend a wedding ceremony here which was so fun being next to a little pond and playground so you get kids could have a little more entertainment.

Took my pup Jack to this park for the first time as we are new to Missouri. The park was a large…read morearea of trees, trails, and a small section of lake for dogs to swim. Jack is used to hiking back home in California so he loved the open space and trails within the forest. Jack also liked the small section of lake that the dogs can swim at, however the only downside is that there is no division for small and large dogs. I noticed the large dogs would gather around the smaller ones a lot causing some unwanted behavior and crowding. If the lake was sectioned into 2 areas it would be perfect. Overall a good experience and place to go in low traffic days if you have a small dog like me.

Am still grieving so I thought being in the presence of other dogs and watching how they're cared for by their parents would give me comfort and ease my pain. Even just to be approached and sniffed at would acknowledge that I have a spirit that our fur babies sense. This park is great. Back in VA where I live, we have plenty of state parks and doggie parks but not leash off doggie parks that span vast areas where dogs can run around and mingle and oh swim in the lake. There are benches along the pathway for you to sit and watch your dogs. The park has public restrooms right by the entrance/exit gates. The day that I walked the long paved pathway to get to the lake it started raining so I had to turn around and didn't get to see the lake. I will go back next time am in town. Thanks local guides for your reviews that helped me find your wonderful Shawnee dog park!
