He would cancel the morning of, not show then finally text to say something came up and he could not make it. We were patient and understanding that he was dealing with an ill family member, but continued last minute cancels were very disruptive to our day and we were getting nothing for the money we paid. After 3 weeks of this it was requested he start the job and deliver the materials we paid for and he claimed to purchase, or issue a refund and we could go somewhere else. He said he and his team would be out the next day to complete the "1-2 day job". He finally showed up and began to dig the project site and left after just a few hours, no stone or materials were delivered. While his truck broke down Monday, we got no communications that he/his team would not be working the next day. Tuesday we heard nothing from him. We called, texted, and no response. We called the supply (stone) store who explained he called to place the order but never paid for or came to pick up the stone. When he finally reached back out to explain his truck was still in the shop, we explained that was not an excuse for ignorning his customer or the job site. After this we asked for a refund, less the small amount of labor that was performed thus far, and we would be going elsewhere. He said he could finish the job but at this point we were finished. Then we never heard back from him. Days have passed, we have called and texted, he still has not replied, never showed up to finish the job, and no refund has been issued. At this point he has abandoned the job site and will not return communication. It is understandable that he may have a lot going on, difficulty with staff, personal issues requiring time, but all we asked was the job be completed or the money refunded so we could find someone who could do it.

Unfortunately, I had to wait weeks for the install, since I called at the absolute busiest time of the season! But, it was well worth the wait. Foothills Fireplace & Stove employees Maverick and Taylor arrived on time to install our new fireplace woodstove insert. They are a great team that worked together efficiently and expertly to assure an quality installation. Maverick took extra care and time to fit the most appropriate chimney cap configuration in place. He made certain to not damage the roof television antenna that was positioned close by and above the chimney area. Taylor's expertise was evident when he assembled and placed the woodstove insert into the fireplace. They demonstrated best practices for starting the fire and using the stove. Compared to my previous insert stove, the draft moving up the chimney was excellent. Both men were careful not to damage the floor and left everything clean. Maverick went the extra mile and mixed up some mortar repair for several areas. He repaired both the hearth and outside brick mortar joints on his own. I was not even aware of faulty mortar on the chimney outside. It was impressive that they were not rushing to finish this job. It was important to them that the completed work was 100% accurate and as it should be. I will definitely be reaching out to them in the future for any chimney inspections and cleanings. They did a mold cleanup and followed standard mold cleanup procedures like setting up a fan to keep negative pressure, sealed the cracks where air could come in, etc. We had some hiccups due to an unusual material my walls are made of, but they came back to fix the problem. Later that same day I was presented a quote that contained 3 different units with an assortment of SEER ratings and prices. Here's the part where you can boo me... I didn't end up going with his company, even though they have an awesome reputation for professionalism and great service. It was simply a product choice and I went with a Carrier brand system.
