The medical staff here is awesome! I was so pleased with the thorough, professional treatment, during my appointment, that I decided to get my eyeglasses here too. This is where my rating went from ALL the stars allowed to 2 stars. After choosing frames from the clearance rack, that would be 100% covered by my insurance, and making verbal note of my limited funds, I was handed a bill for $690.00 AFTER insurance deductions. Just bifocals, BTW. I was able to get them to drop one level on lens material, for $100 less. He said it was better anyway, but did not explain why he initially put a lower quality, higher priced option on. I was then told that the glasses would be ready in "no more than two weeks" and I would get a phone call. This was the first of four promised phone calls I never received. Three days later, I went to another eyeglass place, ordered a nearly identical pair of bifocals, but tinted, for sunglasses, and a pair of single vison, computer desk glasses, both with every coating available, and both pair with no insurance coverage at all, and paid a total of 1/3 the amount I paid Thompson Eye Clinic, for the single pair. 6 days later, I had both pairs in hand, and they were perfect. At the two week point, I called to see when I could come in, and was told they were not ready, but he would find out why and get back to me. Several days later, after hearing nothing, I called again. He said they still weren't in, and the status made him think something was wrong. I was placed on hold for nearly 20 minutes to then be told my first lenses were broken during grinding, so they had to start over. Then my second pair failed inspection, so they were starting over a third time, so it would be "another couple days, he would call me." I heard nothing, so called back 2 days later, and found the office was closed for that entire day. I waited until the next Monday, (today) STILL having received no calls, and was cheerfully told we were "right on track" to have them in THREE MORE DAYS (that is IF everything goes well)... The ONLY reason I agreed to pay more, for my glasses at this facility was that the Dr. and the Optometrist insisted the technicians was more qualified, and the lab was better. At this point, I have been without my everyday glasses for over a month, can't read, can't comfortably drive or watch TV, and have headaches. I have ZERO confidence in the lab making their THIRD (at least) attempt at grinding my lenses, have never once received a call from anyone at the office, and am out a ridiculous amount of money. read more

I love coming to this office for my annual eye exam. The staff is very friendly and explains everything about your exam results and any questions you may have. The testing is thorough and easy to complete. A variety of eye products as well as glasses are available for purchase. I have been coming to this office for several years now and I plan to keep coming back for my future exams. read more

Eye exam was fine. Everything else was horrible. When picking out glasses, everything was up-charged without explanation or consulting me. At the end of the day, the bill was over $900 (before insurance) for an exam and one set of frames. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Thompson and his staff. Most recently I was sent to the Thompson Eye Clinic from my Urgent Care physician. I had injured my eye and needed the care of an ophthalmologist. I was seen first by Dr. Ertzer and later by Dr. Thompson. My condition was very serious and Dr. Thompson suggested that I come back the next day and every day for the reset of the week. On my Christmas Eve visit the Dr. called home to find out when he needed to be ready for his family visit - this way he could schedule my time accordingly. When I came in on Christmas day another patient came in a few minutes behind me. I joked with Dr. Thompson about being a busy guy. His response, "Eye disease doesn't take a day off!" On my first visit to the clinic for this issue I was worked in and seen very quickly due to my emergency situation. On my follow up visits that were scheduled in advance I was pleased with how promptly I was taken back to my exam room and then seen by the doctor. He did a very thorough examination and let me know immediately what to expect from my treatment going forward. What I also appreciated about his style of care is that he sets expectations about possible changes in the course of my treatment early so there are no surprises. I think its important to know exactly what is happening with your health. He is extremely knowledgeable but not above answering any common questions. Dr. Thompson does an excellent job providing enough technical details and then providing a concise explanation so that my head doesn't explode. The office staff is friendly and courteous. The clinic itself is clean. I've never purchased eye glasses here, but they do appear to have a wide variety of styles. I would definitely go back when I have a need for new glasses. Overall I've been very impressed with the care provided by Dr. Thompson and his staff and I will definitely be back. Hopefully it wont be in an emergency situation! read more

Dr. Thompson and his staff are amazing. My husband has been seeing him since High School and I have been seeing him the last 10 years or so. First time I went in was about 10 years ago and my eyes were killing me, he did the normal tests for glaucoma, pressure, vision, etc and turned out that I have dry eyes so I uses a saline solution now and my eyes are fine. I have 20/20 vision with a slight astigmatism and went ahead and bought glasses then. I went back 5 years later with another eye issue. This time it turn out my right eye tear duct was obstructed and gave me drops to take care of the issue. This time I went back yesterday and Dr. Thompson was out so I saw his partner Dr. Cauble who was an absolute delight. The staff checked me in and did the basic vision test and then Dr. Cauble came in and introduced himself. He was pleasant and happy and genuinely cared about why I was there and what was happening with my left eye. This time it was just allergies and he gave me new drops and a prescription. My vision was still 20/20 with a slight astigmatism and I was due for new glasses so I went ahead and ordered a new pair. I highly recommend both doctors and they also do children's vision test and glasses along with elderly tests. read more

Met Dr Thompson through his military unit and was referred to him for cataract surgery for my father. My father received an examination and consultations a couple years ago. The doctor at the time told him that he will not require any glasses to see and he will have 20/20 vision after surgery. I took my father to Dr. Thompson for a second eval. The clinic great and staffs are friendly and welcoming. Dr. Thompson's examinations are more thorough than the previous Dr's consultation. He was patient and took the time to explain things. He told us, in my opinion, the right thing versus what we wanted to hear. In short, he said that it's impossible to calculate the absolute perfect vision without impact to nearsightedness. He was able to provide us with clinical information on how the calculations are made, how the lenses are curved and how my father's eye curvature and astigmatism will affect the calculations. His motto was to under promise and over deliver. 2 days after the surgery, we are very pleased with the progress already. I intend to follow up on this review when my father makes a full recovery. read more

I will NEVER return to this clinic, I had an appointment scheduled and received a call that my appointment was changed. They(LeAnn) did not ask whether the new date and time would fit my schedule, just that the appointment was changed. Apparently this office does not put the patient first! read more

Thompson Eye clinic is an amazing clinic, the staff is always friendly and they keep the clinic clean. I been bringing my kids for almost 5 years here for there annual eye exam every year. The staff is wonderful! Thank you for your service, but I left my glasses but i left my scratched glasses to be repaired (insurance coverage) the very nice lady told me 2 weeks tops!, I did have an option to leave my glasses or have them ship my lenses, taking the risk of fitment issues. I left them. Two weeks tops(they did say they would put a rush), I can swing it. Two weeks later I'm told they are having problems with the lab. Thompson eye clinic acknowledged they have been problems with the lab over 4 months and that they have not been adequate, I have had no notifications. Don't get me wrong, The employees and Dr. are awesome, but a little notification & no promises would a made a difference in my decision- AND I HAD TO PAY$20.00 SHIPPING AND HANDELING TOO! For no glasses, no update, and recognizing they were associating w/a faulty lab! No RUSH, No Glasses. But I can go get readers, really? read more

Their treatment of new clients left little to be desired. I arrived at 9am on a Saturday, and approached the counter. There was one client signing paperwork at the counter as well, so I waited to patiently to be assisted. I wasn't acknowledged at all by the receptionist, which I thought was rude...but ok people are busy. Another staff member called to me from down the hall and without a greeting just asked "Are you here to pick up glasses?". I said , "No, I'm here for an appointment." She eventually approached the counter, talked briefly with the receptionist as she was confused about something, looked at me and said bluntly and rudely "Who are you??". I've worked several years in customer service and they need re-training on how to acknowledge, approach, and speak kindly to their guests...especially new clients, if they care at all about building their clientele.
