Here's an update to previous high rating posts with a recent development. When I first had the issue of not being able to gently wash marks off the walls without the paint immediately coming off ( a few months after a whole house re-paint), Thompson offered to purchase higher grade paint and touch up high traffic areas. This was just a few months after the paint project completed. Lately, again, the paint after gentle application of cool water takes the paint right off the walls. I thought I'd check directly with Sherwin Williams about why this was happening, as I'd never experienced the inability to clean (without having to pay for touching up after such a short time.) Today I visited two local Sherwin Williams paint stores to find out what was going on. They looked up the 2020 invoice/purchase and found that Thompson originally had purchased the lowest grade available, "Property Solutions." (13.66 gallon) One Manager told me he "wouldn't even sell that grade to landlords, it was so poor, " and that it was made for sellers who assumed buyers would repaint to their liking. They did show that smaller amounts of a higher grade was purchased (30.00 more per gallon) for the 'retouch of higher traffic areas," Thompson provided, after he came out and saw the issue for himself. It's important for homeowners know about this, and that we have a choice in the grade of paint that is purchased. This may help their margins, but not the homeowner, who is investing quite a bit cost wise in their property. I contacted the owner today and will update with any response to this ongoing issue. read more

I painted my entire interior in December, only to be surprised when touching up that the old color was showing through. We highly recommend Thompson Painting for their excellent service throughout the painting process. Loren Thompson was extremely helpful and patient while we picked the colors for the exterior of our home. He provided guidance on the drawbacks and workarounds of light and dark trim colors and when we shared that our house was being re-roofed he had his crew come out to do a coat of paint on the trim while the roof was off for extra protection before the new roof went on. The members of his crew let us know each day when they'd arrived and when they were leaving and they worked full days instead of disappearing mid afternoon like many of the other crews during our home renovation.
