We approached something awesome... A replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial... Also known as "The Wall" This is a portable exhibit that had traveled to Gardena... wow... how cool for something so meaningful to come to a local community! The fresh flower wreaths and the memorabilia preserved and displayed was amazing. The volunteers were so friendly and patient in explaining the purpose of the replica and increasing awareness of raising funds. There was a ceremony at this park on Saturday, April 7, 2018, but we were unable to attend. I felt really humbled in its presence. I cannot fathom the loss of so many lives... the sacrifice for our country and in the name of patriotism and freedom... Thanks to Alana for sharing this piece of history with me! God bless America!

Ah, life was so simple then. And it's been decades since I've been back, and my, how it's all come full circle: came through to celebrate one of my cousin's kids' birthdays. It is almost exactly as I remember it, but with upgrades. There are more picnic areas now, the playground is up to date, most everything is maintained so clean! It was kinda cool guiding the kids to kite flying and watching them play games during the party. For a few moments there, I was back to my pre-teen self again. I was told they have festivals here once in a while, so I really should keep up with their scheduled events! I loved it then, I still love it now. Glad it's still around and still maintained so well.

The grass is now well maintained, the tennis courts have been renovated and repainted (I would know; I once signed up for tennis lessons via City of Gardena and we used the courts here) and people have been mindful about their waste given there are plenty of trash bins around. As we are in the middle of a pandemic, they have attempted to close everything down with yellow tape but that doesn't stop people from still coming through and using the facilities. I'm sure staff aren't thrilled about that, but no one is really enforcing anything. Otherwise, it's a pretty cool park to hangout at. Here's hoping this pandemic ends soon. I can't wait to watch those early morning badminton teams play again.

Located off Descanso Way in Torrance. I am biased for fives stars cause this is my neighborhood…read morepark. Before this turned into a park it was nothing but a huge dirt field for many years. I remember walking through this dirt field on the way to High School and back my poor white shoes would get so dusty with the dirt on it. Once they built the park it was nice green grass and the dirt trail to walk on around it. Then they added the kids playground. Along the dirt trail there are stops for workouts like doing push ups with the bar installed etc. Overall a nice place for picnics, soccer play for the wide open field and in the back corner a backstop for baseball which they did get rid of a few years ago.

I thought it was going to be something where I had to hold my breath for 3 minutes. Use the bathroom, wash my hands and head out. But it was extremely clean. They have a giant fire pit. No one started a fire there, but it looks like that would be a pretty big bonfire. I would come by again if I was in the area. Good job El Segundo
