They did send the estimate after I wrote the 8/18 review. It was pretty late. At least they're trying. I don't think this estimate was done particularly well OR maybe they don't give their employees the tools to do their job well. As others have said, the phone people tend to transfer calls to voice mail, so it can be frustrating to deal with them. I still think Thorsen selects the customers that they want to serve well and blows off others. Our plumbing job is not a small one, and they could make some good money from us, but I guess we don't fall into the group that they want to serve, if you know what I mean. read more

I was in a bind on a very hot day. I called around for prices and availability. Bottom line Thorsen's came out and got the job done for a great price. The service technician was extremely helpful and explained everything he was doing. Within a hour my AC was humming right along. I would recommend them and will call again if needed. read more

My initial interaction with Thorsen's-Norquist was good. Competitive pricing and acceptable timeline to have my moms aging HVAC replaced. Crew came as promised and installed the unit. Happy so far with the package they sold me. However, there was a significant delay in sending us a final invoice and payment was sent within two working days. What followed over the next few days, a phone call saying they had not been paid, and a letter threatening late fees was not acceptable. When I called to speak with the owner, I could not get a return call. I think he was hiding from me. Also not acceptable. My mom has used Thorsen's for years for annual maintenance. Not sure how we will proceed in the future though as after sale responsiveness is important to me and I was disappointed. read more

Tried to change the filter on our water conditioner for the first time.Followed all directions. Cant get the tank off to change the filter.Called thorsens told me it would be 84.00 an hour to fix. Told them we cant get the tank off to change filter.Was told if it was stripped not their problem. Told them how can you strip anything you cant turn. Husband went in the next day and was told it was a factory defect.The units came already charged. Funny stood next to the Thorsens employee when he explained how he had to charge the unit.Husband told them well I guess plumbing is different from automotive.If he installs something its his responsibility.Finally husband said well you are telling me we are screwed and was told yes you are.We can take the tank off,break it and then bring it in to see if there are any factory defects.In the mean time we are without water. read more

Horrible customer service!! We've been with thorsens for years, and I will say two weeks later I get a phone call concerning my broken air conditioner just doesn't cut it. It sure is hard to find a business now days to just return a phone call. Your customers are the back bone of your business, and you loose them and soon you find yourself out of business. Check for Heat/AC license online first. Belately Discovered in years I had them DO PREVENTIVE service they had NO heat /AC license Claimed billing was for $79 but always got billed $112. When I'd telephone about discrepancy got vague answers. Then told me charges were for "travel time." Appeared to be false advertising. NO RESPONSES FROM FOREMAN. Tech didn't seem to do jobs as usually expected. Thorsens left me, an elder WITHOUT HEAT for 2 months mid winter during FREEZING TEMPERTURES. 58 DEGREES in the HOUSE! Despite that I had telephoned 4 x, FAXED 2x etc. Thorsens General Manager, Foreman and Tech did not come out to fix problem that THE TECH CAUSED for 2 months, only after I suggested I'd be forced to take other action. Not a professional, credible Heat/AC operation for preventive service. read more

Thankful for Thorsen's! My $800 water heater began giving me problems within 2 weeks of purchase. A few months later and I was tired of getting error codes and coming home to a completely cold tank of water. I called the manufacturer (last Thursday) who called in service to Thorsen's. Jason came to my home (Tuesday) and was very friendly and worked with me to diagnose the problem(s) with the WH. He took over calling the manufacturer and explaining what was needed. The parts arrived this morning (Thursday) and within 4 minutes of receipt, Suzette from Thorsen's called to confirm receipt and schedule Jason's return. He was available to come immediately! Fifteen minutes later Jason was at my home and working on the unit. He quickly had the parts replaced and the unit fired up immediately without issue. Jason was professional, cordial and even friendly to my dog. I appreciated Thorsen's availability, friendly communication and expertise. I will confidently look to them with future needs. Really having a problem w/Thorsens today. Normally they are professional and provide good service but today's situation was unreal! Had a simple job of replacing two bathroom faucets which turned into a 3 hour ordeal due to negligence and poor workmanship. A valve was left unattended and when the water main was turned back on it flooded my master bath and leaked into the downstairs, through a light fixture and on to my kitchen floor. Upstairs, it soaked through the wood cabinet under the sink and seeped under the tile floor where it meets the carpet. Not only were all of these problems not disclosed to me but I was charged almost $400! Very unhappy :-( read more

Recently had work done on my new house. The professionalism and work done was ok. The driver showed up 30 minutes late, waisting my time and their pricing tactics were unprofessional. They charged me for drive time to and from their office, and they charged me for time the plumber sat in his vehicle writing up his report. He sat in my front yard for 30 minutes! I was referred to them by someone, but will probably go somewhere else next time. read more

If I could get negative rating, I would do so. We had a toilet leak on Friday. Called at 2pm, they didn't show until 6:30, tried to charge $100.00 for just walking in and saying that there was a leak, i was not going to pay that. i called the office on Monday to work something out to replace the toilet, Kathy who was incredibly rude immediately went on the defensive, accusing me of calling her a liar after i corrected her version of the stoy, after a minute of putting up with this i asked to speak with her supervisor. I was on hold for over 8 minutes before i hung up and called back, Gregg, who may have been her supervisor or not, was as little of help as her, after i told him what was going on he just asked me what my question was, he didn't seem to care that i was being talked to in such a demeaning manner. so i would very much not recommend them at all to anyone, business or domestic read more
