The VIEWS! They're outstanding! Walking around is easy, not too hard, no high walking trails. The riverfront area is the most beautiful and relaxing part. There's a lot of places to sit. Unless you're traveling with your own internet connections the best place to get service here is at or parking sites right near the lodge. The further away you are from it, without a good carrier, there is a very weak connection. I always check restrooms for neatness and clean aesthetic (just my particular pet peeve), here is not the most eye friendly but very clean. They sell breakfasts on the weekends $13-20ish and have a general store on site. During our visit laundry room was not accessible due to structural issues so we had to go into town, not sure how we felt about that since part of our membership is having this service at our promised locations. We were here before, during, and immediately after the Memorial Day weekend. It was not so disturbing or disruptive as to be uncomfortable; always a plus! I have been staying at TT La conner for 2 years as I build my new home in La Conner and my brother John died there in my motorhome at site 133 on Jan. 20, 2025. I have made many friends with the staff and many of the full-time residents have never had a problem until this horrible treatment. I had just checked in and was trying to find site 300 and I had no idea of how to get there in my 33' motorhome flat towing a car with a Road Master Tow Bar and of course it is common knowledge that if backed up without unhooking the car, serious damage can occur to the car, tow bar and motorhome that I had just filled the gas tank with 80 gallons of gasoline. This is very serious as the same model motor home (Bounder) had recently caught fire here and it was destroyed. This guy with a big belly and in a beat up old looking little car and DID NOT have any TT clothing and I had never seen him before this, blocked my motorhome started chasing me thru the park, until I stopped in front of my friend's sites and I got out to check this strangers TT ID only to find out he did not have any! He then got out of his car and went crazy in front of my new rear camera with color and sound and said "I am getting in your face and you are being kicked out of the park, leave now, go get out, go now leave and kept repeating this aggressive and threating behavior that escalated the situation putting his finger way to close to my face and escalating the situation that was witnessed by many other people and it appeared that he had a young girl in the car. I thought I was having a heart attack, seriously, I then drove swiftly to the Ranger Staton to report this person for enforcing TT rules and not being an employee per TT rules. Upon arriving at the Ranger Station my motorhome was surrounded by my friends and TT employees in golf carts and the guy in the car and then they all huddled around his car, and I watched and heard them on my rear cam getting their story straight with the "Bad Ass" (her words) manager Kelly King, I was shocked by this protocol due to my previous experience. Officer Hockenberry from Swinomish P.D. arrived at the scene and stated that guy that was harassing me did work there and that it was just a misunderstanding and it was my choice I could stay at the park or leave, I was so upset and disgusted that I decided to leave and seek medical help. I had Heart Surgery Sept 30, 2025, at Everett Providence Cardiac Surgery Center by Dr Sharma at the cost of $100,000. The next day while recovering in my MH at this park I was surprised by my friend a TT employee parked his golf cart and served me the unsigned notice that I was kicked out for 60 days with Kelly Kings name at the bottom but No signature, which does not appear to be legal in Washington State, in my opinion. Kelly was very devious 6 times when I requested the name and employee status of this vicious guy with the big belly so I could file a complaint and most likely legal action. The next evening a Red Corvette was going the wrong way at high rate of speed and parked at the lodge and jumped in a white car that left at a high rate of speed going the wrong way. Then my friend Officer Hockenberry came in hot pursuit of the Corvette stating he clocked it 80 mph on Snee Oosh near the Fire Station, how did this happen with a locked gate? I have recorded 8 vehicles going the wrong way and several exceeding the 5-mph speed limit, minors driving cars alone. In my observation, Kelly should focus on the many current problems and not be persuaded by an insecure salesman trying to play the "Ego driven, Big Man Wanna be Cop" in my observation and opinion. I have talked to my friends who are legality employed by TT and always have easily identifiable TT logo clothing and TT trucks or golf carts none of them thought this over reaction was not justified. read more

This beautiful campground has gone so FAR DOWN HILL in the last 12 years. It is PATHETICALLY MAINTAINED, by obviously disinterested staff. Years ago the Woman who ran this Park was Excellent. Everything was clean, everything worked, and the Staff was friendly, helpful and they looked respectable in uniforms that were CLEAN and they FIT. NOW: It's a Shit Show. Nothing worked properly, no rules are followed or enforced,, the Staff look like Bums in dirty clothing and their personal belongings and sites need to be CLEANED UP. NO DUMP STATION, the Mini Golf has been closed for months cause they are waiting for "Adhesive" to finish tacking down the indoor outdoor carpet!!!. I saw can after can in every size at Lowes, HomeDepot, ACE, etc. Mainly pure lies and Lazy People. Sad to see so many people down on their luck with extension cords running into Rigs for power. Even saw a Tow Truck hauling trailers in and out of the Park!!!! Thousand Trails in one of a Handful of Resorts that have no Rig safety, Appearance or Appropriate use rules. They are towing them in and out!! 3 guys trying to paint the trim around a few new windows,, it took them hours. Maybe they are just volunteering and it's OK to drag your feet. read more

I'm not sure who thought "first come first serve" RV business was a good idea but if your using anything larger than a tent avoid this place. There is a reason why normal RV places reserve spots for large vehicle's, The sites are not maintained ours had a large rut that needed to be graded, and they falsely advertised full hookups which is what we paid for. The staff is very rude to customers. Stay at Walmart over this place! read more

Deceptive practices! We made a reservation on line and were required to provide equipment type and length, which lead us to believe we were reserving a spot that our trailer would fit into. We checked in and were told to drive around and look for an open spot. "Be patient" the lady at the desk advised, which I feel means that they know they have issues with the way they are running this place regarding reserving spots. We drove through the entire campground and determined there was not a single spot that would accommodate our trailer. We noticed that many of the spots that would accommodate us were occupied by small tents or RVs, leaving only small spots. We requested a refund and were told to call the manager at around 10 am tomorrow. I'm certain they are very aware that this practice of accepting reservations, then providing spots on a first come first served basis is deceptive. Especially when they refuse to refund you. They charge over 50.00 a night, this was an expensive lesson! Essentially they are making more profits by using this deceptive practice. read more

I came back the second year and actually got the same cabin. This time all new blinds and a nice clean curtains were not ripped. I have been a member for 6 years now. I have never had an issue with any personal at any park until today, July 15, 2021. I was following a car to the front gate. I did not have my foot on the gas, and my speed was 6 mph. I Ik the limit is 5, but my car was idolizing at that speed. The lady, I believe Camy, (she didn't have on a name tag) stopped me to rudely tell me to slow down because she knows the car in front of me was going 5 mph. Which doesn't make sense because I wasn't catching up to the car in front. I told her that I didn't even have my foot on the gas and her response was, "I didn't ask you if your foot was on the gas" in a rude and condescending voice. Not in a "I understand " voice. Then I went to ask about the putt putt. She was very sharp with me as she said everything is out there and if there aren't any balls you can buy one for 1 dollar. I said I am not going to buy a golf ball to use one time. She then rudely said, you can keep it. I said rudely back. I don't golf. She put me in the defensive by stopping me and talking to me as if I was a criminal breaking a law. This out me in a defensive mood. I am careful about my speed and like I said, I was going 6 mph and foot not on gas peddle. With her response of "I didn't ask you if your foot was on the gas" hit a very negative nerve. Then as I was driving back to my site another woman came running out and stopped me to ask me what site I was in. I responded and then asked why and her response was, "for no reason". I have never had a situation when any EE has been so condescending, rude, and negative. read more

We've stayed multiple times at this TT location. It is about average when compared to other preserves we've been to. It is showing its age though. One of the biggest problems I see in general with TT preserves is the size of their sites. When we had a large pop up, finding an appropriately sized site wasn't a big deal, but now, with our 5er, (34 1/2') and the truck to tow it, size is much more of an issue. Another problem is power. Back when they built these parks most RVs were either 20A or some of the larger units had 30A. Nowadays MANY units need 50A to support all the modern conveniences, such as 50" flat screen TVs, W/D, dual ACs, fireplaces, 12 gallon hot water heaters, etc. You can run SOME of those on just 30A, but not all of them and certainly not all at the same time. The best part about this preserve is the quiet solitude. Outside of the summer season this is the big draw for the park. That and it's close proximity to La Conner and Anacortes. In the summer it is a popular destination and sites are at a premium. It will be busy. We usually stay here on Memorial Day weekend, so I know this for fact. All in all we like this park, find the staff to be helpful and friendly for the most part even though they are usually understaffed and overworked. This, more than anything is the biggest change I've seen at TT over the past four decades; the drive to make a profit by ELS has cut staff to a bare minimum, sometimes less than a workable minimum. I can only suppose that's because they budget so little for staff that wages are horrifically low. They truly get what they pay for. That and the day to day maintanance is put off until it can't be ignored and must be fixed. The old saying, "penny wise and pound foolish" definitely applies to TT in this case. At the park level though they appear to be doing the best they can with the dollars they're provided. read more

What a great RV park! It is the best of both worlds, ocean and forest. Really a pretty and relaxing area. The sites have trees and foliage to give a little separation. There are several view lots. Both the adult and family lodges have great views. There is enough room and things to do to accommodate families while allowing individuals or couples their own space. There are RV/tent sites and cabins. Most of the sites do not have sewer hook-ups but there is a decent dump station at the exit of the park. There are fire pits at the sites and you could buy wood at the office for about $6 a bundle. Some of the sites are a little difficult to get an rv into or to level it. We loved the park and the proximity to LaConner and Anacortes. *I have posted restaurant reviews for both LaConner and Anacortes. read more

We joined TT this year and have made it a point to check out all in our zones, from CA to WA. Many have been a bit of a disappointment but the La Conner TT was the best surprise yet! We didn't have reservations but discovered it was close by and we decided to veer off the highway to see what La Conner was like. One of my main objections to any RV park is being in a parking lot campsite with no privacy or scenery. Not here!!! We found a beautiful, private, large, level treed site that was a short walk from the exquisite open beach area. We enjoyed a gorgeous sunset walk on the beach with the dogs and check out the facilities. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. So far La Conner is the only TT that I could stay for a week or more. read more

I honestly don't recommend staying/renting a cabin my family and I rented a cabin for the weekend here,and let me just tell you the cabin was REALLY dirty there was dust and lots of spiderwebs EVERYWHERE in every corner of the cabin it might seem like and exaggeration but by just running your finger in the areas where there was dust you whould end up with a BIG clump of dust and I'm not kidding the spiderwebs where in every corner of the cabin.Also the kitchen and bathroom were not cleaned well as well on the counter of the bathroom there was white spatters of what seams was spit,but overall the dirtiest cabin I've ever stayed in....Also taking in fact that it was almost $200 per night very disappointed. read more

I have not been to a thousand trails until this one. Camping before this location for me was much less accessorized. They had ping pong tables, tye dye making, an old man DJ for the community in the club house. horseshoe, volleyball. The coolest thing was that they had a great location out on the water. I mean it just beautiful here. Sure rains a ton though! Never been so rained out in a campsite so this place definitely gets MUDDY! The sites get super wet depending on which one you get. The hot tub wasn't working so that's a huge bummer. It's nice to have the breakfast in the am if you are rained out, but we are troupers and still made breakfast for 20 people in 4 inches of rain in or site. read more

We have had Thousand Trails membership for a few years now. We have have friends that also have it. We want to book camping trips together, so we looked at the 3 campgrounds we tend to go around us. (We only go for the weekend so we don't go too far). ALL three were booked either the Friday or the Saturday. BUT if I didn't have a membership, ALL three have availability! This isn't fair. I paid hundreds of dollars and I can't get in but others w/o a membership can....Not worth the money! read more

My idea of a family vacation includes a sandy beach, a margarita drink.. I mean.. Wait. An RV trip? Okay, I can deal with that. I planned this for my BF and his kids & I .. Only the best for them! An RV resort? Really? With mini golf and tennis courts and and and a LODGE that has free wifi (albeit spotty, and yes I know I shouldn't be worried about wifi when I'm out in the wood ;) I brought my bike for something extra to do as there is a trail that wraps around to ride your bike on. It was a bit soggy, but we had fun. Luckily, we were close enough to town that we didn't need to cook in the RV all the time either. We even built a fire and had roasted marshmallows. I can only stand 'camping' once a year, and if I had to do it again I'd do it here. read more

This campground is right on the ocean! It's a big hit with my family so we even lengthened our stay to the maximum amount of days allowed. I like this Thousand Trails because I'm 20 minutes from the big towns and just around the corner from Anacortes. The only things I do not like are: -The 5mph zone isn't enforced here as much as the other parks. It scares me because I have a toddler and people fly by our spot. -The wifi does not work at the lodge. You can connect but you can't send or receive data. -Verizon only works at the boat docks and at this island that you may have to trudge through water to get depending on where the tide is. - The spa is not currently working so that's a bummer. But the views are amazing here. So the rest is minor to me and my family! I do enjoy the showers, the pressure is amazing! There's a small store here that's open on the weekends. There is grass for the kids and dogs to enjoy. Also horse shoes and a small workout room. There is also a laundry room. read more

We just spent a soggy, muddy two nights here and we think it is pretty darn good. This RV park is only a couple of miles from both La Conner and Anacortes and it is hard to a imagine a more bucolic and idyllic part of the world. The RV park is bordered on two sides by rocky beaches on picturesque Skagit Bay. Thousand Trails has nice amenities including a large common area long-house right on the beach. The free wi-fi was slow but you should not be concerned with internet speeds when you are enjoying a simple life like this. My girls enjoyed the mini-golf and they had very nice basketball courts, a good paddle tennis court and a few horseshoe pits. Although it poured rain, the roads were in good condition. Our only beef was that it was difficult to find a site that had a large enough flat spot for our 30 ft class c. We were flat enough to be comfortable but, it would be nicer if there were more large flat sites. My daughter commented, "it was a great trip, I heard an owl at night, saw a woodpecker, played mini-golf and had a campfire, even if it was raining"; simple pleasures that make family life a true joy. read more

Like walking into a packed Walmart on the Appalachian trail. Butts to nuts at every spot. I was just cut off twice on the phone with them as they screwed up two of my reservations. I decided to get a membership at thousand trails and was told on the phone that oil could cancel anytime for a full refund. Sounds good So I paid and went looking for a spot to camp I made a reservation at laconner and seeing as I am close went to check it out. Wow was I surprised at the condition and foul smell of it all so I came home and canceled. Now they don't want to refund me because there contract says 30 days i didn't receive paperwork for 2 months. I would not recommend using this company ever most of the park I have looked at seem to have people living in them full time that are all but homeless. Not a safe place for anybody read more

I am leaving this review for all those non members who complain they "reserve" types of sites and didn't get them. Members don't get special treatment either and it is annoying to be a member and pay dues every year and find that nonmembers get better perks. When we joined initially only members were allowed to use these parks. Memberships cost thousands. And they even sell yearly leases tying up some of the nicest spots in the park! I have been going here with my parents since I was very little, and it has a special place in my heart. I love walking around the campground and visiting the beach and lone tree. It seems that the activities for kids and cleanliness have definitely gotten worse through the years, but we still love to go here especially for Halloween weekend. "Reserved spot".... Nope! We even called ahead of time and made sure and the lady on the phone assured us we'd have a reserved spot with sewer. When we get there they tell us it's first come first serve and good luck getting a spot. There are tents in rv spots and they say "well they pay rv rates so..." the only ok things were the pickleball and ocean. We come up to this area often, but this is the first and last time we'll ever stay at 1,000 trails. We even lefty early and they wouldn't give us any kind of refund at all. I'm giving four stars because of great staff here. Every single staff member went out of their way to make us feel welcome and accommodated. They have so much going on to keep kids occupied with fun. I'm sure Thousand Trails only pays minimum wages but expect long hours and don't pay much in benefits to these awesome employees! Thousand Trails Corporate needs to step up so they keep these hardworking employees! Im sure the management and staff have to listen to guests comment on how aged the campground is. Come on Thousand Trail Corporate open up the pocketbook and update this aging facility before people stop coming. Also give your staff a generous budget it's not 1979 anymore. We also think be able to reserve spots would be a better system because we had chosen a spot and the ranger had bagged it for us while we dropped off our trailer and while we did this someone took our spot. It has everything from a Oceanside hot tub, to a family and adult lodge. 4 stars was not a stretch for this place buuuuutttt, on the WiFi front...the only place to use your devices is at the lodge. We had received a free one year membership to thousand trails after buying our first travel trailer. We were excited to book our first trip and since La Conner is close to home we booked this campground. When we got there, we were told that we could drive around to find a spot we liked (even though we made reservations, they couldn't tell us which sites were occupied and which were open) and was given a map which was very confusing and hard to read. We started around the large loop and quickly realized how cramped this campground was. Driving through was tight and narrow and we only found one open spot. This spot was IMPOSSIBLE to even try and back into with our trailer and we had no clue as to how our truck would fit. By this time we were so fed up with this place we decided to go home. We will never be back. Highly recommend going elsewhere unless you go during a slow season. read more

My husband and I came here for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We have a hard time finding places that we can go because so many places are judgemental on breed of dog, we have a pit bull so we aren't always welcomed. Well here it was different. They didn't ask why breed of dog we had when we reserved, and when we arrived we got a very warm welcome from the lady in the welcome center and we had a brief conversation about pitbulls and how sweet they are. So any place without breed restrictions is already great in my book. We got to pick whatever campsite we wanted, and we were lucky enough to get one right off the beach, so we had a gorgeous view. The beach is beautiful. We were only here 2 nights, so we didn't get to take advantage of most of the amenities offered at this park, but we did use the hot tub which was decent and nice and hot. We got to peek inside the little cabins which would be nice to stay in. The people that we came across working there were very friendly. Wish it were in walking distance to town, but that wouldn't deter me from staying here again! read more

We are not TT members, but like to take the grandkids to nearby spots for camping, bike riding, beach play and general outdoor fun. We've been to this campground a few times because of the beauty of the beaches. Actually, the views are the only reason we have been back. Most everything else about this campground leaves us wishing the same beautiful beaches could be found in a place with less mud, clean playgrounds, clean restrooms, fewer rotting year-round RV's and less transients (we have not felt safe letting the children ride bikes or go to the playground unless we are with them at all times). We won't be joining TT anytime in the near future if this is the only nearby place to hang out. read more

WE had a great vacation. Family camping at its best. My kids love the beach (finding sand crabs, hermit crabs, star fish..) I think they could have spent the entire day just playing on the beach. We did spent a lot of low tide there. Swing sets, Mini golf, pickle ball they had it all. La Conner is a short drive to a nice town. Deception Pass is a 20 min drive and is a neat excursion. 4 stars because the hot tub hours at 12:00 - 6:00 for kids. They should be until 8:00PM for kids and then the last hour be for adults only. Also the Mini Gold needs to be updated/ fixed up. The best sunsets are from a beach. read more

We received a free membership to Thousand Trails. We took our first trip to this place. It was really muddy, they need to lay down some gravel or do something. Size of the sites were tiny. I don't mean to be looking down my nose at anyone and please I am glad people in hard times can find a places to live but there were moldy old RV's everywhere with tons of crap piled up around them. Big RV Park lots of spots . It is a older park and a lot of sites are small and woody. Great views of the sound . The park is not maintained very well. The hot tub was broken , laundry was out of order, and only had 1 restroom out of 6 working because of a wast pump problem. The sites need maintained and the out buildings. We decided to branch out from where we generally stay when it comes to cabins on/near the water to try this place out. The pictures of this place sure looked beautiful and the description sounded lovely. Boy was that a mistake. My partner had booked it for this past weekend, the 15th and 16th, not realizing it was Fathers Day weekend. She tried to cancel or move the date to a few weekends out since we have had the same Father's Day tradition for the last ten years. They refused to allow us to cancel or reschedule and told us that we would be charged $180 for canceling. We have a family with three kids and my mother living with us, we don't have the funds to just throw $180 down the drain for no reason. So we decided to make the most of it and went up Friday and Saturday and would leave very early on Sunday to make it so we could still keep our Fathers Day tradition. This cabin we rented was $184 a night. One Queen bed, a bunk bed with no sheets, blankets or pillows. The bunk beds didn't even really have mattresses. Something similar to a camping pad. When we pulled out the hideabed, the sheets were clearly not clean, they were wadded up and smelled of animal urine. Nobody slept Friday night which made for a very long Saturday. Saturday around 5:30pm we wound up packing up and leaving as there was no way we were going to be able to handle another night like we had on Friday. Generally on family trips we have to drag the kids back home, they couldn't wait to leave and that says a lot. When I checked out I was polite and told the lady working that we were leaving. She didn't ask why, she just asked if we did the dishes and then reminded me that they would still be charging our card. I am still in absolute shock that they charge $184 a night for what we stayed in and it wasn't even on the water, our view was of bushes. Clearly we won't be coming back here and I will ensure our friends and family don't make the same mistake we did. On a happier note, La Conner had some delicious restaurants with gorgeous views. The people in town were all very kind and easy to talk to. If anyone reading this gets to the end, please check out where we usually go and stay for mini family vacations. It's well worth the money and has breathtaking views. The only downside is it does book up fast. And while it's not in La Conner, Orcas Island feels the same. We've been to 5 different thousand trails sites now and this one is our favorite. The people are friendly and seem to genuinely want to help. I liked the Saturday breakfast. I haven't seen that anywhere else. The two things I'd change would be to add a pool since all the other ones I've been to have one, and the facilities could use a little updating. The adult lodge is tiny and only has a tv and pool table. I don't know how both could be enjoyed at the same time. The family lodge is nice but nobody seemed to be able to get the wifi to work. The park is very dark. More lighting would be beneficial. All in all this was a great trip and we definitely plan to return. read more

We are regular visitors of thousand trails this one is by far the worse one we have been to, bathroom's were discusting, no soap, no toilet liners!! And frequently out of toilet paper!!! And having to pay for mini golf really! And way to many bugs read more

I really like the thought of how really nice this location could be. However, the facility and grounds need some care and updating. The hot tub is down and I saw was going to be replaced, miniature golf was non existent. There was a store, however it was not very well stocked. We stayed in a beach cabin. The cabin itself was pretty nice, however if you advertise it as being accommodations for 6 people than all beds/sofa bed should have bedding as well as you should be given enough towels for all occupants. Only the main bed had bedding, thank goodnesswe had brought with us extra blankets or our kids would have had nothing. The unit had baseboard heaters, however they were very old, had wires and furniture in front of them so it was obvious that they were not operational, We did try to turn them on and they did not work. Needless to say, if you did not bring firewood for the fireplace you were freezing your butt off come morning. We stayed two nights. On the last night the toilet clogged and would not unclog, could not use the shower as somehow their plumbing was connected. Something was clogged or wrong with the septic for the unit. We ended up getting a key to the vacant cabin next door when we used for the bathroom until we checked out the next day. Overall location was perfect, beautiful beach. But the amenities need some attention. read more

Only stayed here a few days. Didn't like the fact that there is very few 50amp sites. It's very hilly and lots of large trees so not easy to park in sites. No tv reception. The roads in and out are muddy with lots of holes. Won't visit again. read more
